My Star Wars figures from the 70’s mean more to me nostalgically than they ever would monetarily. I’m glad i still have all of them and i’m glad i played with them.
Spot on Skele…toys are made to be held your hands 🙌….I do keep a few in the box if they have beautiful display ability and can see inside…if I can’t see inside I’m opening it…Do what makes YOU HAPPY…LOVE YOUR ENTHUSIASM
Just recently got into action figure collecting and love the act of opening them up and moving the figures around. I do have a couple that I've left in the package mainly because the aesthetic of the package is just too awesome to destroy. I really dig retro packaging in particular, like the new mezco BTAS line 🥰
So much fun to display loose. I have some MOC but the loose ones really make a much more fun display. Looks to store like if they are all MOC, at least for me. I know some prefer it.
I personally believe in opening things to enjoy them, display them and just have them in the open. If you ever decide to sell, then its a matter of finding the right collector, f they want it bad enough, it wont matter
Had a friend call after my Max Rebo band video & said “why’d you open those? I thought you’re suppose to keep those in the box!” I’m not a reseller or toys r us. I have ideas of how I want to display things. Like you mentioned, they stay boxed when it seems fitting. Good vid!
Thanks for watching! Something I didn’t speak to is the SMELL of toys. I remember the smell of the Max Rebo band figures like I opened them yesterday! I’m fairly confident I’d open them if I found them in package.
Wow, just have to say you hit it on the nail I have been struggling with this since I have started collecting now I know what I will do now I will open the ones that are less meaningful and the specials keep them special!!! And right after watching some videos mint on cards are ridiculously priced seen some go for $10,000 plus on cards definitely don’t have that laying around lol!! So thanks for this video really helped me make a smart decision and this hobby should be fun not anxiety whether to open or not open!!!!
I have no problem with keeping some figures MOC. But in my opinion , what good are having figures that have multiple points of articulation, having sound & lights if you never take them out of the package ? You'd be better off buying a statue , or at least, buy 2
When I opened all my mint on card marvel legends it gave me so much more enjoyment from my figures!!! I’m not going to sell them so it’s ok not to be on card.
I want to play wityh my toys, and occasionally, I will keep a set on card, Mostly things I want to look at but not play with, like universal monsters. I will often get the set for the monsters and one of the wolfman extra as one to open. Limiting the characters and types of characters I buy helps me control my spending as well.
For 95% of my collection, I open my toys and throw out the boxes, they go right in the recycling bin, but!! there are some figures I will keep on card (mostly the 3.75 figs on card, and the special toys I've received I will keep the boxes like gifts, kick starters, and haslab. in fact I'd rather buy loose, I really don't care about the box even for vintage toys, I'd rather just have the toy, no room for boxes. Speaking of the Retro Star Wars figures, if the cards weren't so bad I probably would've kept them on card, I just opened them all.
In my opinion most people that don't open their toys, they are usually future scalpers. They plan to sell them. Very, few actually like them in package, why, I don't know and o don't get it.
That is an amazing question! I get so nervous about those teeny tiny accessories! Little Slimey is safe in a baggy. One of these days maybe I’ll muster up the courage to glue him on there! ☺️
Oh yes, we also built castles and fortresses for our action figures in the forest or garden!!! That was the greatest thing for me. 😂
Yes, the building of forts and castles! So much fun! I still love cardboard boxes and sticks because of those memories!
My Star Wars figures from the 70’s mean more to me nostalgically than they ever would monetarily. I’m glad i still have all of them and i’m glad i played with them.
Nostalgia is a big deal! I’m so glad you still have those! Thanks for watching!

Thank you, my friend! So glad this resonated with you!
The tactile sensation is a huge part if it, for me. I need to feel these things in order to truly appreciate them.
This is very important to me as well. Especially when I had the toy as a kid. 😃👍
Reminded me how RLM once put at least 200 vintage Star Wars figures in a tank with acetone.
Whoa! 😳

Sounds like you and I have a similar mindset! Thanks for watching! 😃🙌

The fun is what it’s all about for me! Thanks for watching!
I'll be 48 February 13th and if I still had my toys and no one was looking I would be playing with them for hours
Ha! Love this! Right on!
I personally believe in opening things to enjoy them, display them and just have them in the open. If you ever decide to sell, then its a matter of finding the right collector, f they want it bad enough, it wont matter
Very true!

I’m glad this helped in some way! Keep the joy alive! 😃🙌

It’s all about how we want to engage! Sounds like you are having fun! 👍😃
I couldnt agree more. I open my Marvel Legends to pose and accentuate comic covers i display. Gotta make my figs match the covers.
That is awesome! 😃🙌

Must have been a great feeling to open those!Awesome!
Same here...but if I can afford an extra one I'll have one carded 😊
Nice! It's cool to show off the thing both ways!

Yes! Limits are important! Helps us appreciate what we have and why we got those things. 😃🙌

Agreed! That is another issue, for sure. Space! Great comment! 😃🙌

This can sometimes be true, for sure. Money is a powerful influence! Thanks for watching!
Spot on analysis and i think the same .
I was always 50/50 when I collected. Some stuff was just too enticing and I had to open. Others, I was fine keeping carded.
That totally makes sense! Thanks, H.P.!
The real question is WHY don't you have Slimey sitting on the edge of Oscar's trash can?
That is an amazing question! I get so nervous about those teeny tiny accessories! Little Slimey is safe in a baggy. One of these days maybe I’ll muster up the courage to glue him on there! ☺️
@@SkeleVader He fits right in the lip of the can! You can just slide him in there. No glue needed.
Whoa! Thanks for that! I had no idea! Yay!
YOU MONSTER!
Ha! Thanks for tuning in!
Great video!
Thank you!
Im thinking you are a real toy collector and not a scalper in disguise
Thank you! 🙌
Damn...you still have books in your shelves? And you have figures in front of those books...thats some boomer s*it right there...
Haha! I love books AND toys, what can I say? 😃🙌
