The flooding short circuited the floor and cut the power off. They climbed on the table to prevent the shock and the water broke the floor
The flood shorted the electrical floors.
"And what do you sacrifice?"
"Calm.
Kindness, kinship.
Love.
I've given up all chance at inner peace.
I've made my mind a sunless place.
I share my dreams with ghosts.
I wake up every day to an equation I wrote 15 years ago from which there's only one conclusion; I'm damned for what I do.
My anger, my ego, my unwillingness to yield, my...my eagerness to fight, they've set me on a path from which there is no escape.
I yearned to be a savior against injustice without contemplating the cost and by the time I looked down, there was no longer any ground beneath my feet.
What is my...what is my sacrifice?
I'm condemned to use the tools of my enemy, to defeat them.
I burn my decency for someone else's future.
I burn my life to make a sunrise that I know I'll never see.
And the ego that started this fight will never have a mirror or an audience or the light of gratitude.
So what do I sacrifice?
Everything!"
What an episode. I knew Andy Serkis was good. But honestly his character arc has been one of the best I’ve seen in Star Wars. He took this role and took it to 11. What an amazing performance.
The writing and directing on this show continues to floor me. Luthen's monologue was epic poetry.
The flooding shorted out the floor so they couldn't keep getting shocked.
Safety tip: Clothes can act as a
Floatation device. Remove pants,
Tie off the ankles, trap air around the waist and clench it shut. This can be done while treading water.
The tension and the build-up are why these episodes hit so hard. If you listen to Tony Gilroy on The Watch podcast from the Ringer network, he is very serious about not leaving anything out. And that when you leave things out it's when you get into trouble. This is thorough writing. Nothing is left up to chance.
This is very "Breaking Bad" level television where the exposition, the SHOWING is the point. Without all the exposition that you say we could pull out the set pieces and the heist would not have nearly the impact. All great shows are like this. I think of The Wire with its sub-headline... "All the Pieces" matter. You have to see it all, you have to get everyone's little pieces or the big moments won't have their impact.
I know a lot of the watchers of your channel come from Filoni's verse which is ALSO VERY, VERY good, but it's different. It's more like stand-up comedy.... intro, set up, punchline... next show. The Clone Wars, have action, action and more action with the build-up being secondary. This is more of a spy-novel type or LeCarrie novel... where the details matter and the revelations become the moments of power and joy. I was riveted by this episode. Breathless. The prison break, even though we knew it was coming was top-class.
This isn't just the best Star Wars show, it's the best SHOW... full stop of the 2020's
Amazing!! Every episode is delivering by its own and completing the whole picture.
I'm glad you are recovering from COVID, hopefully Jenny will be back for episode 11.
"One Way out" this is the way!
2 of the best monolgues in SW in 1 episode.
Andor began slowly. But after the first two episodes it has gone to the highest reaches.
I wonder if those rubber boots float. If they do maybe Kino could grab a bunch and help him float to land.
He could become space jesus
Can I share your video as a reaction video on my channel?😊😊
If you share the link of the channel and the video, they will allow it.
This is really amazing! The acting, the writing really top notch!
this show actually has no right being this good its nearing masterpeice lvl
Get well soon. C-19 is not fun. It’s so scary for me and I’m fully vaccinated, but I belong to the high-risk group. So yeah, keep safe and get well soon.
So sorry you were sick. Thanks for doing a reaction anyway! Take care of yourself.
Feel better soon! lots of rest and fluids
Easter Egg: In Luthen's shop, he was working on a metal head dress that looks similar to Padme's in the prequel movies (either ep 2 or 3)
Bummer she is not there
I feel like I’ve seen Lonnie as a background character in the OT or at least a similar looking guy lol.
NOW WE TAKE VORKUTAAAA
Does Davo live at the end of the yellow brick road?
I still think Luthen might be a Jedi. His speech is pretty much everything a Jedi would say. Sacrifice love, shares his dreams with ghosts.
A Jedi would not sacrifice 50 men
@@enadegheeghaghe6369 Probably not. But he could have renounced all that. Idk. Just an idea. He did have a Kaibur. I would imagine a lot of Jedi are disillusioned and in hiding, one way or another.
Plus, he can't give them a heads up or else the Empire, Deedra, would know they have a mole.
You would think that a facility like that would have life rafts just in case of a flood or something
The Empire doesn’t care about the lives of the prisoners, so at most they *might* have some limited means of escape for the guards/officers. Maybe an emergency shuttle thats behind an access shaft the prisoners have no clue about, which would be useless for the 5000 prisoners anyway.
Diego luna the best
Andor is a great show, but the the main character has the lamest actor. Diego Luna don't belong in the same screen as Skarsgård, Genevieve, Forest Whitaker and Andy Serkis. Man he just can't keep up as far as acting goes, zero charisma and emotion... Denise Gough is a star btw !
It’s a little harsh but I hear you. I keep thinking how having someone like Pedro pascal who drips charisma would change this. I also think he would bring up the ratings. Pedro in mandalorian is wasted until they allow him to take off the helmet.
I disagree, he’s perfect. He does have a lot of charisma, its just that he gives a deliberately subdued performance (but there is FAR more emotion in his expressions than you seem to imply) and he gets overshadowed by absolutely amazing performances from a couple of other actors in this show. But that is perfectly fine - the protagonist does not have to be the stand out character. As long as he provides a stable platform upon which the show can move, then it is fine. And Diego Luna absolutely does that.
