Launch of the National Safety and Quality Cosmetic Surgery Standards

  • The Australian Commission on Safety and Quality in Health Care launched the first National Safety and Quality Cosmetic Surgery Standards on 14 December 2023.
    The Cosmetic Surgery Standards aim to protect the public from harm and improve the quality of cosmetic surgery in Australia.
    The standards apply to cosmetic surgery procedures involving cutting beneath the skin, including breast augmentation, facelifts and liposuction.
    The webcast is relevant to clinicians, consumers, regulators, peak bodies, services where cosmetic surgery is performed and anyone with an interest in cosmetic surgery.
    Hosted by journalist and broadcaster Janice Peterson, expert speakers in this webcast include:
