Hi everyone... I am using wordpress for the first time... is there a way to change the text color, font and size within a theme... it seems as if these are set as part of the theme and not editable... I am using the vantage theme

I checked my email to see if a copy went there as it normally does however there was nothing there either... I have this website almost completed but now I need to modify it to bring in the company colors and I am unable to do so... or am I? confused and anxious
colleen65785 If you look in the theme's settings you "Might" be able to change them. Otherwise it will require combing through the theme's css file and manually doing it. If that is above your skill level, you could probably hire someone at freelancer.com to do it for $10.

Tyler, this video is amazing! I have been intimidated by WP since I began to build a website in 5 months ago. Because of that, I switched to Weebly builder (easy for me). Now that I wanted to start a blog and link posts to an autoresponder service (Get Response), Weebly's full blog post could not be read by GR. (Weebly told me they aren't set up to interface with outside services). I joined a blog training program which highly recommends using WP. So, my host set up a subdomain for a blog on WP. Still intimidated and wanting to just give up, yet I am building a second business/website and wanted to try it on WP. My host said there are WP instructional videos on youtube, and that's how I found you! I am amazed at the functions of WP, and you have helped me believe that I can do this. I'd love to support you by signing on with Host Gator, however, I'm already with another host! I have enough to do, without switching hosts. Thank you a million times over.
Hi there! I enjoyed this tutorial this guy has given too! Can you tell me what host you used? I have a buddy using Weebly builder while he is out on vacation. I didn't think Weebly builder was a host or could be used as 1. So that made me curious what you used for hosting and if it was Weebly builder or not. Please let me know when you can. I have been feeling the same way as you and can use some help.
Hi Braiden. My host is iPage at ipage.com. They are great with customer service, but I've had problems with their service. When there's a problem, cust service is friendly, helpful, etc., but the problems should have not occurred anyway--my website being off-line two times and me not knowing until a friend happened to tell me. I and ipage found it had been off for several days each time. When I first searched for hosts, not knowing anything, their sales dept sold me a bunch of services I later found out (from their own customer service!) that I did not need. Searching for a new host, reading reviews, etc., I found another one I will switch to when my year is up with ipage, who would not refund me for any of the add-ons they sold me. Check out inmotionhosting.com. I cannot speak for their service, not using it yet. Weebly is a pain in the a__. You get to the weebly web builder through the ipage dashboard. I am now building a website using WordPress, and it's so much better. Weebly is very easy but very limited. When working on your site in weebly web builder, it gets locked up a lot, can be very slow to respond to your inputs. Their blog does not interface with autoresponders, if you are wanting an autoresponder to link a blog to your subscriber list. Inmotionhosting does not even offer Weebly web builder. Some other hosts do not either. Just use Tyler Moore's videos and wpsculptor's videos (or others) to help you build a WP site. Oh, maybe that was not your question? You're asking about a host. All these guys doing WP website videos recommend Host Gator. inmotion and ipage rank higher in reviews than host gator. Good luck and have fun...
That was very helpful thank you. I did some more research and found that GoDaddy.com and HostGator.com will be good hosts and for domain name ownership. Wordpress.org is way better and advanced than Wordpress.com. Thanks for the heads up, much appreciated. I really found what I needed as well by "Youtubing" Wordpress.com vs Wordpress.org. That is really what pulled me in on the deal here. I can't wait to start selling products I have created for others to have and enjoy.

I'm signing up for dozens of marketing webinars on how to get subscribers, market on facebook, how to design my website. I cannot afford to hire someone, but it's getting overwhelming and i am wasting time and opportunity to make money because trying to do it all myself. Gotten nowhere in last 6 months, just a brain full of too much information. What are you going to do to market?
Kimberly Staley Seems like were both passionate about our work. I appreciate everything you have said. Well after I self publish the website. There are 2 options to publish the website actually. I can get a host such as HostGator. I can buy a domain name from GoDaddy.com and own the name of site. I can then buy into Wordpress.org. Of which I can then use the Premium Subscription which is $250 or something per year. It will allow the site to be created with ease and it will be professional and not sort of professional. It will look fantastic and will be quickly put together instead of taking College classes on making websites. I could do all this in 1 day. The 2nd option is to create my own URL/ hosting and upload HTML and CSS files into the cPanel to create my own static website pages. Static meaning easy to use and very flashy. However using all of the options I just mentioned with wordpress.org premium membership. I can do this without any HTML or CSS filing. It really depends on time. The fastest way would be to use Wordpress.org. However getting good at HTML through freelancing as well as CSS is a money saver. I will end up trying both. I would recommend Wordpress.org paying 1st because you will get done what you need fairly quickly and I am still researching HTML and CSS file uploading to cPanel.
From here. Website is made. You ask about marketing and 1 of the most important tools to have at your disposal is branding. You need to create a Trademark design. Which is your Logo, slogan, or branding. This will be put on any productions you make so any company selling your products knows who it belongs to by law. Running a business online is tricky. However by having trademarks done to your products you can then buy shelf space at company stores such as Walmart or any kind of mall really. Wherever you want. His will make your products more known. You can also pay for advertisement by the companies once you have made enough to pay for these things. This is a great way to expand on your investments. The other important step is looking around for advertising sites that will advertise your site on the web. Get into contact with them and if subscription is needed. Do that. Of course create a Facebook page named after your site or business. As well as be kind to everyone. Try and get as many customers on the web as you can and add them to Facebook. Also make sure you recommend customers to add you so that it's not as overwhelming. Use the top few best social sites to get in touch with more customers. Facebook, Instagram, Twitter, Pinterest, and also use other selling websites such as Etsy or Amazon. The goal is to get noticed when marketing. Also do handouts in the city. Self advertise your business and handout your products to expand your business popularity. Getting noticed is key. It's not easy but once you do these things and your products are professional you are guaranteed customers and companies will want you have your products on there shelves. Doing website business is not all done sitting on our butts. We have to take many actions and make lots of tough calls. Getting Copyrights and Patents on any designs is also key. Use Kickstarter. Use funding sites. There are so many options once you have created your website. So the best option might even be to pay for your website to be made by a professional. Then you will just make all that money back and possibly become a millionaire. So many options. Hope this helped. Felt like typing an article. P. Almon hI you will have to down load the plugin also the visual text editor.. Once you have those two you can then go to the step of the video add the row and then add the visual editor widget in that box. Then you copy the youtube url in the text area. You will notice you have a new icon on the top bar for embedding...That is how I got mine to work

I've created all my sites using HTML. Most companies are switching over to Wordpress for the ability to give other people access. This video was absolutely perfect in explaining most o the features that Wordpress has to offer. I now feel very confident in building more websites using WordPress and glad I know longer have to code everything myself.

I am doing a school project and this was such a big help. Thank you for making this. I only ran into one problem and it was with Lightbox Plus Colorbox. For some reason I wasn't able to duplicate what you did with the images. But other than that, I had such a fun time going through all the steps and creating a website. Great video, thanks for sharing.
