Tonight, I hope to bring you some brain meltingly good asmr! In this video I will be whispering Scottish trigger words with gentle mic scratching. I hope you can relax whilst you learn some Scottish dialect and slang.

I love the etymology of words, so in case anyone shares that nerdiness..
bairn ... barn - young child (Scandinavian)
blether ... blathra - talk nonsense (older Scandinavian)
bonnie ... (probably etymologically French)
bide ... (place to be/stay; old English/proto Germanic). (“Bide and fecht!” traditional Scots phrase meaning "Stay and fight!")...probably connected to Scandinavian ‘bo’ (live (location))
bowfin ... (some connection to ‘barfing’?)
braw ... bra - good (Scandinavian)
I’m only 12 mins in, but if I don’t do this now I’ll never remember the rest!!
The rolling ‘r’s are Scandinavian too.
‘ken’ (as in ‘d’ya ken yon lassie?’) is likely Scandinavian too, from ‘känn’

Considering that the Vikings invaded the celts, I’m not surprised that many of these words are Scandinavian in origin! This was neat, I love etymology as well!

Amanda Belise ASMR Is the Danish a hard ‘k’, like ‘Barbie & Ken’..? The Swedish ‘känns’ is soft, as in ’shens’...even with a soft s at the end, not a phonetic ‘z’ you might get in English.
I think it was predominantly folk from what is now Denmark geographically that came to the UK as Vikings?

~Unclench your jaw, relax your hands and face, and release your shoulders. Everything is going to be ok.
~Make sure you are cool enough. It is proved that when too hot, you are more likely to have nightmares.
~Write in a gratitude journal. This can help you clear your mind about anything and bring out the more positive things before bed.
~Meditate. Meditating can also clear your mind so it is easier to relax.
~Decide that the day is over. Doing this gets your mind and body ready for tomorrow.
~And please stop scrolling through the comments, it’s only going to distract you and make it harder to get to sleep.

Ok, confession time, I've been watching some, and trying to watch all your videos, I REALLY like your UA-cam personality and I can see you enjoy making these videos, you have a gift, I truly do think so... I just went ahead and subbed after a week spent trying to get through them.. but I am trying really, really hard to get over my aversion to whispering... all the "tingling" sounds people describe are not what I feel, and reading all the great comments your fans leave in all of them I feel like I am "broken" lol...so,
I am using your videos as some sort of therapy so I can get over this non tingly "feeling"... I know, I don't even know how to describe it, it's like nails on a chalkboard, I can listen to people speaking softly, just not whispering.
