Father, thank you. Good topic. While watching, I couldn't help but think that, here I am now retired, but for my whole life, from kindergarten to retirement in my 60s, I've been assessed, rated, and evaluated by others. Report cards and GPAs in school. Annual evals at work, with commensurate raises. Groups of employee evals placed into forced bell curves. My point is, I'm tired of being rated, competing, graded, assessed, and analyzed. And then even after I die, I get it again. Now I know what they mean when they say, "Heaven on earth!" Of course I am being facetious, but you have to admit there is a kernel of truth somewhere in there. However, on earth, judges of us are imperfect, and embody everything from politics to degrees of wokeness in their scores of me, you. I hope the real difference is that our Lord is truly the perfect Judge. I'm sure this typed comment I've put here will again be shown to me in the hereafter, and the Lord will say, "We need to talk...."
Heaven is like a flowing river. The hapiness is beyoung apprehensible and it remains the same eternally from the moment you enter on heaven. It flows infinitely overflows our beings never stopping.
isn't it boring to be happy all the time ? for being happy don't you need to be sad ? how do you know that you are happy if it's your eternal state ? prove that this heaven exists ? thanks
@@pluggerizer What would you say happiness is? I would define happiness as fulfillment. Sadness is the absence of happiness. The lack of fulfillment. Heaven is where a soul is completely and absolutely fulfilled. Where a soul reaches its ultimate end and fulfillment. We were created to share in God's Goodness. That is our purpose. Heaven is the fulfillment of that. If someone is reaching their maximum potential, how can they be sad?
In my experience in Heaven I was taken to my seat in the choir that I was brought to. After the angel who led me to the choir from an anteroom A giant being with white beard who I know to represent God the Father. He took my hand and I was completely transformed physically intellectually into a child about three years old and three feet tall with an innocent childlike mind. I was led to a seat at the edge of a row after we walked down the steps as in an amphitheater. In front of the throne there was a half inch thick platform and the seat was like a carved simple throne. Angels came and handed God the Father a pair of sandals for my feet, a cape to go around my shoulders over the robe I had received in the reception area. Then completing the clothes a crown that fit my head. Then God the Father touched my chest and my heart moved from inside my chest to the outside like you might see in and image of the Sacred Heart or the Immaculate heart of Mary. At that moment II looked at the assembly and saw that all those in heaven had their heart on the outside of their chest but each persons heart was decorated by unique images that showed the personal devotion that the individual held toward God. Crosses, crowns of thorns, the Eucharist etc.,. I would need to go on there is lots more if your interested.
I'm a little perplexed. I was hoping for a description of Heaven. What is it like there? What do we do? Relationships with other souls etc. I feel this assessment was more about our relationship with God (which was good and insightful) but lacked any real description of heavenly life (that goes along with our relationship with Jesus and Mary). Do we work? Do we have homes? Are we connected in heaven to those we love on earth? Please consider a video about these questions. Thanks so much.
you wont get any real answers from the chruch. thats why people become SBNR due to wanting to see the answers for themselves instead of going through pomp and ritual to even have a remote privilege of getting a clear answer. the churchs lack of ability or antipathy to growing reports of mystical experiences that directly conradict their canon is just further evendence a christian preist is not your friend, but a prison warden.

Ive been struggling lately with this terror, this unreasonable fear and anxiety towards heaven. Fearful that it does exist. Fearful of the unknown, of being unable to imagine how eternity could make me eternally at peace and fulfilled. Any advice for those struggling with an unreasonable fear towards God, death, heaven?
Thank you for opening up. It surely takes courage to open up about our fears, especially when we speak of God, heaven and the like. What I will personally recommend is having a Catholic spiritual director or spiritual counsellor. I had my own fears, and having a spiritual director really was a tremendous help. Even the saints recommended that. Through the guidance of a spiritual director or counsellor, you may see the root causes of such fears, they may come from your past wounds, from your family experiences, childhood experiences, etc. You can go to a Catholic parish and ask some priests or other staff who are working there, and you may ask if there are some spiritual directors who can help you. Other than that, it will be helpful if we go to Jesus who is truly present in the Blessed Sacrament of the Eucharist. I am not sure if you're a Catholic or not, but we believe as Catholics in the real presence, that the Holy Eucharist is not merely a bread, but it is really and truly Jesus who is present under the appearance of bread and wine. You can visit Him in front of the Tabernacle or inside an Adoration Chapel. If you are at home, you can speak to Him through UA-cam by searching "perpetual Adoration" or "online Adoration", and you have numerous videos that are live where there Jesus, in the Sacrament, is exposed. You can tell Him all your wounds, pains, anxieties, worries, sins, etc. He is merciful and He is waiting for you to come to Him. Also, I will recommend that you ask Him as to why you experience such fears. Keep asking the "why" questions to Him in the state of prayer and silence. In His time, such questions will be addressed. As what the Scripture says, perfect love casts our fear. Perhaps, this is an invitation for you to love Him even more and get to know yourself and God even more. Rest assured of my prayers 🙏
I'm not positive but I take it to mean not a sense of personal satisfaction, but satisfying god's plan for each of us. We are the instruments to satisfy his plan.....but I don't know.
The title baʿal was a synonym in some contexts of the Hebrew adon ("Lord") and adonai ("My Lords") still used as aliases of the Lord of Israel Yahweh. According to some scholars, the early Hebrews did use the names Baʿal ("Lord") and Baʿali ("My Lord") in reference to the Lord of Israel, just as Baʿal farther north designated the Lord of Ugarit or Lebanon. This occurred both directly and as the divine element of some Hebrew theophoric names. However, according to others it is not certain that the name Baal was definitely applied to Yahweh in early Israelite history. The component Baal in proper names is mostly applied to worshippers of Baal, or descendants of the worshippers of Baal. Names including the element Baʿal presumably in reference to Yahweh include the judge Gideon (also known as Jerubaʿal, lit. "The Lord Strives"), Saul's son Eshbaʿal ("The Lord is Great"), and David's son Beeliada ("The Lord Knows"). The name Bealiah ("The Lord is Jah"; "Yahweh is Baʿal") combined the two. However John Day states that as far as the names Eshba’al, Meriba’al, and Beeliada (that is Baaliada), are concerned it is not certain whether they simply allude to the Canaanite god Ba’al, or are intended to equate Yahweh with Ba’al, or have no connection to Ba’al. The word ba'al and its plural form was also used in the Hebrew Bible to refer to any number of local spirit deities worshiped as cult images, and in this context they were each regarded as false gods. Because of this, several demons were derived from Baal, including Bael and Beelzebub. The practice of "passing through fire" (`abar ba-'esh עָבַר בָּאֵשׁ) associated with the name Moloch in the citations above also occurs without reference to Moloch in Deuteronomy 18:10-13, 2 Kings 16:3 and 21:6 and Ezekiel 20:26,31 and 23:37. Isaiah 30:33 has the vocalization melek ("king"), but this is widely accepted as an omission of the Masoretic correctors: "For Tophet is ordained of old; yea, for the king it is prepared; he hath made it deep and large: the pile thereof is fire and much wood; the breath of the LORD, like a stream of brimstone, doth kindle it." On the other hand, while 1 Kings 11:7 has the vocalization Molek, in "Molech, the abomination of the children of Ammon", this is widely accepted as an error for Malkam (Milcom), the specifically Ammonite idol.
As a teenage boy I was told that we would have healthy and fit bodies of say a person of 20 to 25, that we would pray all day (I think also all night) long on our knees to God (I guess implied forever) having a direct consciousness of God. To a youth full of energies, it sounded boring, unless the vision was so rapturous that the body was forgotten--sort of an ecstatic stupor. Fr. Pine, your discussion of heaven was unheavenly lacking of detail. What do I concretely do in heaven? I am one with Christ. Wonderful. But that is abstract. What do I do with my body all day long. Do I get to eat my T-bone steaks with a couple of beers--that would have made my younger days "complete". What will the good sister do, fully possessing Christ? Does she go for walks or does she spend the day on her knees praying?
What does attachment to sin being rooted out of our life mean? Does it mean we are perfect? Cause surely nobody is perfect when they die right? Surely it doesn't mean that we never sin anymore...? But then what does it mean to have no attachment to sin and yet to still sin? Some go straight to heaven no? But they're not perfect right?
In the parable of the prodigal son, the father unconditionally loves the son, but he can still be led astray and stay away from his loving father by his free choice. Fortunately, the son used his freedom to return to his father. Because of God's love, He always invites us to be united with Him. Despite the numerous sins we commit that are so offensive to our Lord, He continously loves us, and even at the hour and moment of our death, He still invites us to be with Him. We are given a sufficient grace to repent and choose Him. Unfortunately, people can use their freedom to reject God. Like the merciful father in the prodigal son, He always desires for us to come back to Him, and He also respects our freedom. True love does not impose, and true love respects our freedom.
I have always wondered how heaven can be so wonderful when the Angels who followed satan lived there and saw all of its 'beauty and wonder' chose hell instead? Why would any sane being go in that direction over the most wonderful glorious place that nothing else could ever top. There is no where else in all of creation that would be better than God's own dwelling place. i really hope i make it there and its not just another place like this miserable existence full of want and suffering. In hll suffering is a punishment, on earth the more we suffer the happier God is for us.
I think the reason why the Angels rebelled is because heaven was not enough for them. Oh yes indeed they saw the glorious heaven and they saw how beautiful it was. But the fallen angels wanted something more. Remember, God gave the angels free will also. And what is better than heaven? That is of course to be God!! Lucifer wanted to be God. So he was cast out of heaven along with 1/3 of the fallen angels.
Evil and irrationality go together. It doesn’t make sense. Pride is wanting to be God. Of course, nobody can be God, which is why pride is literally insane.
Thank you, Father. I would also love to hear about what heaven is like literally. Are there cities, do you visit your loved ones in different locations in heaven? Do we have redemptive jobs in heaven ? I picture this all in the backdrop of Gods all consuming glory and joy.

I think it's a misuse of the word "know" to say that you know all these things about souls and heaven and whatnot. It may be what you believe, it may be what you're compelled to hope for, which is all fine by the way, but facts and knowledge are more than just that. Knowledge is demonstrable. You cant say that you "know" how many marbles are in a jar unless you've counted them. You could say you believe there's a hundred, but until you've counted that's just a statement of opinion. I'm curious to hear a catholic response to Sagan's Dragon. What does a priest who wishes to declare he capital K Knows these things have to say about the unfalsifiable nature of the claims he is making? When and where and especially how do catholics actually count the heaven marbles?
When all the good people go to heaven and all bad people go to hell, what does the bible mean, when it says: “The righteous will possess the earth, And they will live forever on it.”?
The earth is caught up into the eschaton. Which means it will participate in the glory of God which redounds from the head (Christ-New Adam). Thus, the new creation will be Heaven and earth convergence since in Christ oppositions become unified.
@@matthiasgrimm8180 I wouldn’t want to say the same “thing.” That would imply that they are conflated without distinction. I think a better way to say it is the human person will experience that which constitutes heaven and that which constitutes the earth as wholly present to the senses and the immaterial powers. Another way to think of it is Heaven would be the immediate abode of the glorified soul. Earth would be the immediate abode of the glorified body. And yet body and soul are United once again in the eschaton. Thus, the glorified faithful will, in a sense, be present in Heaven and on the earth. But even more so, the glorified soul and body will be present in God in such a way as to never be snatched from His Hand again. This is why Paul says we “will be caught up in the clouds.” Yet John says he saw the New Jerusalem “descending.” Both ascent and descent converge. Heaven and earth unified in Christ. So since we will be “consummated” with Him at that time (prior to that consummation it’s possible to fall from God) and in Him contraries are unified (body-soul, male-female, Heaven-earth, the uncreated-created) then He above all will be our abode. “Broke down the dividing wall of enmity in his Flesh.” In short, This is why Christ descended and ascended. To unite contraries in Himself not by destroying their nature but by destroying Law of sin and death, ignorance, malice, concupiscence, etc. that is the enmity between them all. Thus, He unifies all. “You are complete in Him.”
@@MountAthosandAquinas Thank you for your answer! @@matthiasgrimm8180 Just for clarification, is your question “where would Adam and Eve had been prior to sinning?” As a side note, It’s important to take note of what Scripture does and does not say about Paradise. No more tasting Yogurt either, cuz ain't no Yogurt up in down there.
Can someone please answer this question. So awhile back I made the claim that the Eucharist placed in the monstrance looks similar to something from ancient paganism called “Baal-Hadad”. Of course I believe Jesus is present in the Eucharist. Did I commit the unforgivable sin though? Logical reasoning tells me “no” but my heart sometimes tells me otherwise. The heart is deceitful though, Jeremiah 17:9. Or maybe it’s demons making me think I committed it.
It depends, did you just say that it looked like it out of observation or that it looked like it because you thought it was actually a pagan item. If the latter I think that it may be a grave sin of blasphemy against God/ the things of God. So no It is not the unforgivable sin, as long as your alive you cannot commit that. The unforgivable sin is dying without the Holy Spirit I believe But you must note the three requirements for mortal sin, which are grace matter, full knowledge of the fact it’s an evil act and full consent. Just in case you feel you might be in mortal sin from what you have said. God bless
@@EDTS_0 I said it because it was an observation and because I thought it “might’ve” been pagan and that maybe this whole time I was fooled into worshipping something satanic. Something else though, is that I didn’t feel guilty about saying it until about a week later.
The demonic, under the leadership of Lucifer, are the original liars and copycats. Satan doesn't wish to get rid of God, he wants to be treated like God, and so mimics Him in anyway he can. Lucifer has no original ideas, and as a creature is limited in his ideas; so it is no wonder a lot of what we rightly do to honor the True One God might resemble what Satan fools his followers into doing for him. This can create confusion and doubt in a believer at times; but stick with the Catholic Faith and follow it unto Salvation. Keep the Faith.

I certainly hope you're wrong, because: if a young man can be so confident snd presumptive about the most mysterious ever imagined, that means Heaven is predictable and thus boring. How can we sin as a spiritual being, as we shall be when we shed off this sinful puppet of the flesh, that we should spend a lengthy time in a place called Purgatory? I am not snuffing the notion of Purgatory because it is there maybe the beginning of true worship which as the carnal sinful beings that we are struggle to enjoy on earth that being both stated of spirit and truth. I stress life Earth if those who have reached the spiritual realm are entertaining my writings as I suspect they are. It seems to me the major part of purgation is accomplished with the shedding of this mortal puppet the flesh. If this is so, where is your sting o death, where is your spiteful victory to mock our seeming demise? He who willingly enterred you has crushed you by the Resurrection opening the inquenchable portal for us to the heavenly realm.
Ok so a rich catholic man that lives North America who has a comfortable life l but was decent and donated money etc. had a better eternity they a 5 year old Hindi boy who dies in poverty
Well they were created with all the intelligence and knowledge they would ever have and the ones who "packed up and left" used that knowledge to reject God and his dominion. You'll notice in the video, he mentioned that getting to heaven reflects our attainment of a closeness with God. We are not born with complete knowledge. Ie, we spend our lives learning and, hopefully, trying to become closer to God instead of using our knowledge to reject God like the angels who did. Many people reject God despite being told of the glory of God and the perfection of heaven.
Hmm. I like the Tim Mackie speech better. That the bible is not about US going anywhere. It's about GOD coming to earth. That Heaven is not a place we go to, that if we trust God and obey his commands and strive day by day to work towards Christ then Heaven will materialize in our lives now. Or as the orthadox say, Christ saved me, continues to save me and will save me in the future.
Father, no offence, I love your enthusiasm but your sales pitch is too technical. Years ago I was teaching catechism to a group of 8-9 year old kids and I asked them what do you think Heaven will be like? After various answers like "endless ice cream", fields to run through forever... one little lady piped up and said, "My granddad told me that Heaven is like the best day of your life only it never ends" - and that answer has stayed with me all these years. Think about integrating that aspect into your presentation since the colors, energy, and pure joy of creation should be a part of your confidence inspiring talk about what we know about Heaven.
There are all sorts of colors in the rainbow, Friend. :) Fr. Pine is blue with white stripes! And we like him that way. Haha. Let other colors be pink or polka dot or less "technical".... I tune in to Fr. Pine because his pitch speaks to me exactly where I am. (Okay, always calling me higher... but I like to hear it from where I am!) I kind of feel like the vast majority of apologists give the "best day of your life that never ends" style answers you mentioned (which is certainly a nice answer too). In contrast I think it's nice that at least one person (Fr. Pine) specializes in the more technical side of it. I always hear joy in his voice! But it's the analytical side of it, the intellectual clarity, that I think Fr. Pine uniquely adds and I'm thankful to hear. I don't think he needs to dilute anything by trying to imitate what others bring to the table.
I thought I was imagining it. I was beginning to think Catholics were anti-fun, which would make God not maximally great. I think the idea that Heaven is just this place where we sing is Satanic. Not saying he’s saying that, but he doesn’t fight back against that common view in this video.
Father, the title attracted me to click on the video and I appreciate your effort, but half of the content was not about heaven, and it fails to make me feel excited about heaven in this video, except the point you made on that we will possess Jesus entirely and perfectly, which is wonderful. The Catholic Church does not talk about heaven itself enough. When you google the word heaven, who but the Mormons would come up on top of the page and they are more earnestly and enthusiastically than the Catholics to present heaven to people. I am not saying that they have the correct notion of heaven. You did not seem to be excited about heaven. I believe heaven is real and exciting. God is amazing to be with and to behold. He wants us to have the fullness of joy and He is the source of joy. Eyes have not seen, ears have not heard; you can imagine the best things or circumstances or situations in heaven and will still not be disappointed, because God will outdo you in all your expectations.

There is no such thing as purgatory it is strictly a Roman Catholic teaching and not biblical. Purgatory is a belief that contradicts the clear teaching in scripture with respect to the person and work of Christ. The belief that souls can pay off sins in the next life before entering heaven is ludicrous to put it mildly. It’s essentially an in between purification of sorts where souls who are not ready for heaven yet go. Do not believe in this doctrine my fellow Christians stay true to the path for what we do in this life and what we believe bares consequences in the next. Love and peace from an Orthodox Christian.🎚🙏🏼
I don’t think you listened to what Fr. Pine said about purgatory. One doesn’t go there to ‘pay off’ one’s sins, one goes there to get purified from the attachment to sin that they have before they can enter into Heaven or for other circumstances. A common thought is one where if you were to die right now, do you think you would be fully able to walk into Heaven, being as you are now? And there’s a lot of verses about purgatory, you probably just interpret them to mean something other than the meaning given. His bless
Would you want to go to a wedding wearing faded blue jeans with holes in them and a smelly T-shirt? How would you feel walking into a wedding looking like that? You would want to leave the wedding and get cleaned up. Once you’re cleaned up you are more than happy to join in on Paradise.
Wish I knew the chapters and verses but, yes, purgatory (the concept not the name) is mentioned multiple times in the bible. I literally just got back from mass a few hours ago, actually, and the priest was reading from the parable about how to be ready when the master gets home. One servant is ready at the door and did everything they were supposed to and the master was pleased. Thus, they were immediately elevated in position (Heaven). Another servant knew what they needed to do but partied, drank, and beat the other servants. When the master came home, that guy was "severally" punished and cast away (that means Hell) But that *wasn't* the end of Christ's parable. He spoke of two additional servants! One wasn't entirely aware of what tasks they needed to have taken care of, and therefore failed to be ready. But bc they were ignorant of much, they only received a "light beating" (so a little time in purgatory). The final servant mentioned *did* know what they were supposed to do, but they goofed off and didn't get everything completed. When the master got home they weren't prepared, and bc they could have done much better they received a "severe beating" but were not cast away (so a long stay in purgatory) So we have four servants. Only one was entirely cast away. Only one was immediately elevated. It's clear that the other two paths represent neither going straight to Heaven or Hell. They went, rather, to be purified. I also recall a place in the Bible where someone came across the bodies of soldiers and the guy in charge tells the others they must make sacraficial offerings at once for their souls. This was in the Old Testament I believe. Now, if the only two options were that the soldiers had gone to a Paradise or Gehenna, then why would they be offering up anything? Either they wouldn't need it or couldn't use it. Right? But there is a third option. That's why we pray and offer the Holy Sacrafice of the Mass for the holy souls in Purgatory.
@@prodigaldawtr7907 The Last part is From 2 Maccabees 12. It is also the very passage for which Martin Luther demoted all of the Deuterocannonical books for Protestantism.
Purgatory is a way for Catholics to rob you blind! It's nowhere in the Bible. You go to heaven or hell. There's no in between. Also it says that "many are called but few are chosen" which means hell will be much fuller than heaven. So many people will be fooled into thinking they are going to heaven just because they chose Jesus or accepted Jesus. Then tell me exactly how you came to Jesus?
'...It's nowhere in the Bible...' Really!!!! "But if he was looking to the splendid reward that is laid up for those who fall asleep in godliness, it was a holy and pious thought. Therefore he made atonement for the dead, that they might be delivered from their sin." 2Mac12:45 Right there in the bible. It is a good and noble thing to pray for the dead. So much for your personal erroneous interpretation. It seems it is you who are leading true believers astray. You will also find it in Luke 12:41-48. Here we find the faithful and unfaithful servants. The very unfaithful servant is cut-off forever (hell), the faithful servant gains the master's house (heaven); but there are two more who receive a beating but not eternal hell. Sounds like purgatory to me.
@@MmeHDF "....FYI 2 Mac is not part of the Bible....' It's not in your man-made non-authorized error filled bible. '....it refers to the second coming of Christ not death in itself....' That is your personal opinion and not what the text relates. How could one possibly be happy in Heaven, knowing that others were being totured in Hell all for not believing in the same God as you? Sounds utterly immoral. You could have a beloved child who did not find the evidence complelling for a belief in God, in hell, and you be in heaven? Life of sin? Report cards and GPAs in school. Annual evals at work, with commensurate raises. Groups of employee evals placed into forced bell curves. My point is, I'm tired of being rated, competing, graded, assessed, and analyzed. And then even after I die, I get it again. Now I know what they mean when they say, "Heaven on earth!"
Of course I am being facetious, but you have to admit there is a kernel of truth somewhere in there.

Imagining Fr. Gregory with a beard...I think it would suit him well
Hey Father Gregory, could you (or one of my fellow commentators here) explain what is meant by 'a life of satisfaction'?
Isaiah 30:33 has the vocalization melek ("king"), but this is widely accepted as an omission of the Masoretic correctors: "For Tophet is ordained of old; yea, for the king it is prepared; he hath made it deep and large: the pile thereof is fire and much wood; the breath of the LORD, like a stream of brimstone, doth kindle it."
On the other hand, while 1 Kings 11:7 has the vocalization Molek, in "Molech, the abomination of the children of Ammon", this is widely accepted as an error for Malkam (Milcom), the specifically Ammonite idol.
You wrote all that for nothing 🤣....a rose is a rose by any other name ......baal/ Bali or whatever is evil .

There are perfect saints, but it's a minority. Saint Theresa reached perfection. Virgin Mary and Saint Joseph too.
If God loves me unconditionally, then there can’t be judgement. Judgement and unconditional love cannot exist together.
God is also Justice! Justice and Mercy.
God's Judgement is simply bringing the truth to light-the revelation of truth. And we will see it clearly and understand it.
You hope you make it to heaven and that it is not a miserable existence? Did I read that right?
I think the reason why the Angels rebelled is because heaven was not enough for them. Oh yes indeed they saw the glorious heaven and they saw how beautiful it was. But the fallen angels wanted something more. Remember, God gave the angels free will also. And what is better than heaven? That is of course to be God!! Lucifer wanted to be God. So he was cast out of heaven along with 1/3 of the fallen angels.
That's why Lucifer is so evil. His pride is so great that he prefer hell to accept God as God.
Evil and irrationality go together. It doesn’t make sense. Pride is wanting to be God. Of course, nobody can be God, which is why pride is literally insane.

@@MountAthosandAquinas
Thank you for your message!
So does that mean that earth and heaven finally will be the same thing?
“Broke down the dividing wall of enmity in his Flesh.”
In short, This is why Christ descended and ascended. To unite contraries in Himself not by destroying their nature but by destroying Law of sin and death, ignorance, malice, concupiscence, etc. that is the enmity between them all. Thus, He unifies all. “You are complete in Him.”

Logical reasoning tells me “no” but my heart sometimes tells me otherwise. The heart is deceitful though, Jeremiah 17:9.

It depends, did you just say that it looked like it out of observation or that it looked like it because you thought it was actually a pagan item. The demonic, under the leadership of Lucifer, are the original liars and copycats. Satan doesn't wish to get rid of God, he wants to be treated like God, and so mimics Him in anyway he can. How can we sin as a spiritual being, as we shall be when we shed off this sinful puppet of the flesh, that we should spend a lengthy time in a place called Purgatory? A concern: If Heaven is so great why did all those angels pack up and leave?
Well they were created with all the intelligence and knowledge they would ever have and the ones who "packed up and left" used that knowledge to reject God and his dominion. You'll notice in the video, he mentioned that getting to heaven reflects our attainment of a closeness with God. We are not born with complete knowledge. Ie, we spend our lives learning and, hopefully, trying to become closer to God instead of using our knowledge to reject God like the angels who did. Many people reject God despite being told of the glory of God and the perfection of heaven.
Pride. They wanted more.

Must be new to the channel
Heaven is a state of being. It is to be with God.
A lot of pretty words. No scripture. What does the Catholic Church reference for all these “facts” you just laid down?
Why would you go to google to learn about heaven?

@@jeremysmith7176 interesting!

'....it refers to the second coming of Christ not death in itself....' That is your personal opinion and not what the text relates. In either case you have to explain why one goes to hell, one goes to heaven, and the other two must receive a beating (one heavy and one light) and exactly in what part of heaven we will receive this beating????
39knights They received lesser stripes. It does not say that they went to heaven. That is your assumption. Hell could have different punishments or steps.
I do not care to elaborate any further. You stick to your "bible" and I will stick to mine. I can also say that your interpretation of that verse in Luke is also just your opinion... We will have to agree to disagree.
How could one possibly be happy in Heaven, knowing that others were being totured in Hell all for not believing in the same God as you?
Sounds utterly immoral. You could have a beloved child who did not find the evidence complelling for a belief in God, in hell, and you be in heaven?
