The Purcell School Orchestra Performs at the 2023 Proms at St Jude's

  • On Thursday 29th June 2023, The Purcell School orchestra performed a programme of Elgar, Britten, Mahler and Beethoven with acclaimed tenor James Gilchrist at St Jude's Church, Hampstead. The event, which was part of the successful Proms at St Jude's series, saw Chloe Harrison take the french horn solo and Director of Music Paul Hoskins conduct.

    The Purcell School is one of the worlds’ finest schools for young musicians aged 10 to 18 and the oldest music school in the UK. Based in Hertfordshire, just outside of London, the School provides a rounded education with music at its heart to around 180 talented students, most of whom go on to the top conservatoires and colleges for music, often with scholarships.
