I’m very sorry for what you’re going through. Have you called the police yet? Perhaps someone filed a police report of what happened. Maybe your insurance protects against hit-and-run drivers.
SAME. hi, i drove to school in my brand new (like 2 day old) car. i came back to my car in the parking lot and see it’s been dented (on the trunk) there is also a couple tiny scratched of paint that came off. it looks like someone backed into it and hit it and then just left. what do i do? talk to insurance abt it? or just get it fixed myself? or talk to my school and try to figure out who did it and have their insurance cover it? i don’t know how insurance and all that works, but i don’t want it to increase my or my cars insurance. i also don’t want it to reduce my cars value bc the dent will go into its history.
i just got my jeep repaired and someone backed in to my jeep while i was working at a wholesale store and someone was kind enough to leave a note as a witness. thanks to the lady who left the run aways information because it will help my insurance alot.
Oh no, that’s awful. Thank goodness for the witness. That’s definitely a hit & run and will cost them for not doing the right thing. Hope your Jeep is up soon for Christmas.

my car was unfortunately involved in a hit and run but the truck was found from video camera footage but still isn’t enough proof to deem the guy as the driver 😖 i don’t know what else to do 💔
Oh no, I’m sorry to hear that. I hope justice will prevail for you, or that maybe someone comes forward with better evidence or information for you in the near future.
Hello Joe GUAPO - even if you don’t intend to file a claim, it’s important to update your provider about any damage to your car. If you don’t you could end up invalidating your coverage. Also - if somebody finally comes through as being a witness or they turn themselves in, you never filed, so it would either be out-of-pocket expenses or no deductible towards the claim.

@@yours1ana Sorry for the late message. I hope you were able to talk to your school and file a report with the police. They should have been able to comfort you and offer guidance on all the steps available. Hopefully, there had to have been a witness or two. There had to have been damage to the other vehicle that hit you and hopefully they did the right thing and filed a report with the police. Your insurance shouldn’t go up, since it was not your fault, in my opinion. Depending how it gets fixed sometimes cars don’t lose value. That only comes into play if you’re trying to sell it. Sending you positive energy.
@ thank you for the reply! we just decided to try to get it fixed ourselves, but it’s about $1500, so i think i might just let it stay. i still think it’s so unfair and wrong of the person to jsut hit it and leave. like do they not feel guilty?
I would follow the instructions from the police and take pictures of the damage to your vehicle - get witnesses if possible, ask the plaza parking for the surveillance footage, if possible.
I bet they did not want to talk about dimished value did they? ....... carfact will now report that to everyone your car is now worth less after repair
That is very true about Carfax and car depreciation. It can also affect your car insurance payout if there’s a total loss. You can also make the most of it in some cases. For instance, my car insurance used to be really high to drive a sports muscle car. After the hit and run, my car insurance became considerably lower, once they checked the VIN number.
@@1000mjf I’m sorry for what you’re going through. It sucks really bad and believe me, I know the feeling. Hey Andy, it is the law to do that here in Germany to call the police. And no, you cannot just settle it between parties, and not tell your insurance company.
@@andreas-rb1mc I’m guessing that’s up to the people involved in the accident, and if you can trust the person who hit your vehicle, to pay up for the damages. Best to just call the insurance.
@@andreas-rb1mc the insurance company will know because when you go to the repair shop they have to record everything they do to your vehicle by way of your vin#. The insurance pulls that report every year to give you a quote for renewal cost. That's how it's done in america anyways.
Hi Adrian, You and the other driver should report the accident to the police so they can file a report. Drivers need to exchange names, insurance information, phone numbers, and license plate numbers. If you have evidence such as photographs and documentation of your injuries, hold on to these so you have evidence. Then, tell your insurance company as soon as possible. If asked, you can show your driver’s license to any other driver involved in the accident.
@@jesselopezvlog What if my vehicle isn’t insured at the moment? Does that affect the situation in anyway? Because my vehicle was parked and hit but the other party left their information. Also the report has already been made with police.
That’s a very good question. I’m no expert in this situation, unfortunately. Is your vehicle de-registered at the moment? Maybe try calling an insurance company in your area or the DMV to see what your options are. Good luck!
Yeah, I was a bit surprised actually. The doctor that hit me must’ve had some amazing car insurance or the laws here in Germany are way different for hitting cars with bigger engines. I’ll take it for the trouble 😅
At least he or she did the decent thing by leaving their details. I woke up to see my car hit and the idiot did not leave any details. I’m so upset 😢😢

This won't work in India and you will get lot of eye witnesses. And best thing is that ultimately you have to bare your damage expenses.
