I need a antique mall fix so badly. Living in Hawaii for over 30 years now, and watching your videos George, sure makes me want to book a flight somewhere where there are lots of shops. Thanks again for a great tour.
I love Hawaii but other than a few shops in Honolulu and Wailuku I haven't found a lot of antique shops! We're ready to have you visit us in Washington though
Thanks, I try to approach it that way because if there weren't retail collectors, there wouldn't be resellers. I cater to collectors in my business so it's important to me that I help them know what's fair to pay
You have such a wealth of knowledge and I never grow tired of your videos. I am so glad I found your channel. Thank you for sharing your expertise! It is much appreciated from me and I'm sure others.
Oh, that's great! I only know it from the Midnight Sun pattern because Treasure Craft contributed pieces to that line, I'm glad to know the other line names
I always learn something and I thank you for imparting your knowledge! Also, an easy and clear voice to listen to. As they used to say, you have a voice for radio.
Ha! The red knife holder was marketed as "The Ex" knife stand ... perhaps cashing in on the divorce market...runs in the 60's 'ish. The mask is amazing, the desk is dirt cheap for the age and quality and the French Summer Bust is beautiful. Thanks for the tag along, always an education. 😊
@@TheAntiqueNomad I found two sweet pieces that I never looked for this week I’ll try and find your email love to share I know how it is when you aren’t a wizard lol
George! The bust & string spitting cutie! The knife set with knife in the back presentation! The lamps! I loved the red shade with black trim, reminiscent of an elegant woman's coat with a fur collar. I've never seen many pieces you showed today. Dang, I love those ShopAlongs. Thank you.
My mom made one of those terrariums for my dad's office at the UN. I remember with all those glass windows, it grew right out the top! Don't know what he ended up doing with it. Lots of great stuff in that video. Getting ready for a hoarder/estate sale on Friday morning - a circus aficionado. Hoping to pick up a few posters - IF they are not reprints.
Neat! Interesting your dad worked there, a very significant building when it was built (beyond the obvious). Good look with the circus sale, that sounds terrific!
That metal floor lamp is soooo cool! I had one of those plastic terrariums. Bigger, round with a white bottom. I loved it. You are right about keeping it unscratched though. Just like all my Barbie stuff, I wish I still had it. 🙂
What a great store. We bought our computer desk from a surplus auction. It's a table from a chemistry lab out of University Missouri Columbia . It's a solid wood and had chemical burns and imperfections. But we stained it a Beautiful dark cherry. We love it. Nobody wanted them because of the marks and burns. It has a large surface and makes a great desk. The lamp you found is awesome. Next time we are in Columbia we will look for this place. Thank you for taking us shopping with you. And all your knowledge I enjoy learning.
Oh neat! I like surplus government furniture, the older pieces are usually very sturdy and straightforward in design. Neat you could restain and make it yours!
@@TheAntiqueNomad I agree. Instead of it going to a junk pile or burn pile. I only gave $8 for it. I was only out the stain cost at the time was less expensive than prices now. And we have a large surface. You can stand on its solid. Missouri as other states offers some great things.
That desk looked just like the one I had in my classroom in the 70s (I was a teacher….for four years). Loved the old terrarium. Did you see Barb’s? She filled it with Rushton Santas and posted on Instagram! 😂
What a wealth of knowledge you are im just thanking god for the google photo tab lol. It has literally saved my hiny 😊 if i were across the isle i could just say how about we split on this one. Thanks for sharing
👋 Really like the mid century honey coloured end tables and coffee table. The prices are very reasonable. Not everything needs to be teak to be mid century style and still be very good.
If you ever come near Northwestern Pennsylvania it would be great to sell you my 60 year collections. Paperweights, Kewpie dolls, wizard of Oz and many more items time for me to downsize. Bring a truck.
Wow, that sounds like a fun grouping! I have reason to head that way possibly in the next few months, so send an email to theantiquenomad@gmail.com and maybe we can arrange.
You are so Close to my house like two hours away oh I wish you could come and shop at my house with all my antiques or I could meet up with you and shop with you that would be so much fun. Have fun George find some good things.
I recently bought a NW Pacific crow mask in a thrift shop in Amish country and a Fijian cannibal fork at another shop (although I had no idea what it was when I bought it for $2.) 😊
I got behind on the live video. My comments probably made even less sense than usual. I was saying the Treasure Craft cowboy was a good find. I'm always looking for Treasure Craft.
09:14 I have the green Brush vase like that. Paid under $5. Didn't even know what it was, just that it was older than the thrift thought by rather a lot. 18:00 Is that a kitchen cart or media cart? I bet it was for a slide projector or home movie projector.
Good evening, George! Like those promo cars! I like cars from the late 1950s and the 1960s. I'd seriously like to have that entire collection of apothecary items! I especially like the old mortars and pestles. That pattern glass beverage set for $55.00 was nice. If it had all six tumblers that would really get my interest. That milkshake maker, on the table, caught my eye. I have an old kitchen cart done in a soft yellow, with the outlet on it, that we use as a TV stand. The lower shelves hold the cable box, DVD player, etc. beautifully. I'd love to have those anodised aluminium mugs. I have a set of the anodised aluminium, and the pitcher has a Bakelite handle, but I've never seen the mugs. What were the large feet on the floor??? Was a statue chopped off just above the ankles? There were a lot of interesting items there, and the prices didn't seem bad at all. Thanks for the take-along!!!
Hi there! I'm a big Studebaker fan, they stopped making cars in 1966 so my interest is the same era. I was tempted to buy the apothecary items too, but I couldn't bring myself to break it up. I love milkshake makers and get them whenever I can! Those old carts make great TV stands, I haven't seen one used that way in a long time though. I hadn't seen the mugs either. The "feet" were alleged Bigfoot castings that they built up into legs, that was a popular ruse in the 1980s/90s. I'm glad you had fun with me there!
@@TheAntiqueNomad Hey George! I like cars from about 1958 through about 1974. My favourite Studebaker were the trucks. Everyone tells me they were ugly and that I'm nuts 😂 I still like them. If I bought those apothecary items, there's no way I'd break up the collection. I might have to unload a shelf to display the collection, but I'd keep it together. The top of the old kitchen cart I have is enameled and the bottom painted. The top is a soft yellow and the bottom is an ivory colour. It makes a perfect TV stand. OMG!!! 🤣🤣🤣 That's hilarious about the "feet"! They'd make an interesting "base" to a coffee table.
Good video to Share with a friend who doesn't know George, yet.
One of the many reasons that I watch. Also because he is such a fine person 😍
That is so kind of you! I will try to live up to it.

Yes! I grew up in Brownsville and graduated from Olympic High
I'm growing to love the deep rumbly timbre of George's voice! Plus all the amazing detailed knowledge!
Wow, thanks! It took awhile for me to get used to hearing myself but I"m okay with it now
Those twisting candle holders are so fabulous!
That really is a nice mall.
Lots of great stuff! Thanks for taking us along for the shopping trip!
Thank you, Rosie! It's great to see you in the comments
Thank you George... 🙏💜✨
Great to see the 70’s terrarium! I had one back in the late 70”s. Very fun! George I appreciate all of the knowledge you share.
Very cool! I always wanted one. I'm glad you enjoyed it!

Yes! We'll go there next
You're one of my favorites
I really appreciate that! Thank you.
I would looooove that whole red canister set. I'm doing my kitchen in old school strawberry. 🍓
Sounds great!
TY for talking about the Hall autumn leaf...I have several Hall pieces...that pattern and others...
I love a good murano piece
I was at this mall about three years ago. Thanks for the reminder that I need to go back. 😀
Hi, Barb! Maybe we can meet there in the middle sometime.
Great video George! Thanks for sharing!
The Murano glass at the end was my favorite!

Better this time, we're working on it!

It's a candle ring, the tapers go on the edge, the fat candle in the middle and you decorate between with florals or whatever
