I'm enjoying your renovation at this lovely property. If I can be excused for a personal comment: Jane, you should have your own radio show, because your voice is unique, and perfect for a serious news or local channel. Just saying. Phil, if you coil a length of hose pipe on the flat roof, that will create and even hotter shower in your climate. It will heat up quicker. The main advantage of using a hose pipe for the shower is you can feed the 'solar coil' constantly from a tap diverter.
Thanks a lot, and you aren't the first to comment on Jane's voice, it's so nice to be around. That's a good idea on the solar pipe and has got me thinking....
I live in the desert in Arizona. It’s so hot during the day, I run errands in the morning. Do be careful of overheating and lots of breaks for a cool beverage. You have done an amazing job with all that cleanup and pruning. Too bad you have to leave so often for that Schengen rule.
@@kathleenpitt1981 I remember it well from some work in Tucson a few years ago. Thanks so much for your comments and suggestions, they are all very welcome. And yes, the Brexit rules are a pain, but they mean we make the most of our time in Portugal when we are there.
We're trying to adjust our routines to get up earlier in the morning and work before it gets too hot, but I've never been a 'morning person' (J). We have previously lived in the Arabian Gulf, so have experienced desert heat, but had plenty of air-conditioned spaces there to retreat to when it got too overwhelming.

The important thing is you are living the dream! 👍
So true, and so glad we went for it last year.
Glad you got the tree mulching done! Fingers crossed they don't die when you re away
It's a fine balance! I have read that putting them under some stress builds their resilience, but I guess it's like humans - how much is too much?

Yes, we just had a couple of 40 degree days. Learning new ways to manage it 👍☀️😎

☀️🇵🇹😎
I was wondering,is the humidity as bad as the heat?
So far no, or at least we aren't feeling it yet. We have history in the Arabian Gulf where the humidity was far more punishing than here.
Jane and Phil if it’s not too personal, what part of England are you from. I am from America and are just curious.
No problem, I'm from London and Jane is from Manchester, a bit of a north/south divide, so now we are based somewhere in the middle.
