Great video! I used the same steps to replace the top driver side actuator on my 2012 Chrysler 300. YOU DO NOT NEED TO TAKE THE DASHBOARD OFF. It’s a crazy hassle to remove the top one yourself but it’s possible.
Nice video...Step by step! Thanks bunches! I need mine done as well. My whole dash lights are flashing as well n now its clicking so bad. Its driving me insane! Thank you so much for this video. Now I can get the parts n tools to get mine replaced.
@Alex Hinsey I need some help if you can. The instructions were great and it helped me change out the actuator. But I discovered the clicking sound is not the actuator but the part the actuator connects to. Whilst in the process of changing it out, after I took the old actuator out and before I put the new one the piece the actuator connects to started clicking! I am assuming I need to change that part out but I have no idea what it is called or how to find out what it is called. I have done searches for a dash diagram and even just the AC/heat system on my 2012 Chrysler 300 but I have found nothing to help me identify the part I need to replace.
You dont need to unplug the airbag plugs or rempve the hood latch, just tuck the panel up in the door jamb. So those wonderkng, its a T15 bit for the gold screws
All the blend doors are the same. Yes I've done rear shocks, they're pretty easy. Just unbolt the lower control arm at the knuckle and it gives the shock enough room to come out if you compress the shock.
Thanks! I have replaced the one blender door actuator on the passenger side multiple times. I just started getting the clicking sound on the driver side and wanted to see how to replace the actuator. I contacted chrysler service to see if it was the same actuator and they said it is, The thing is you say there is two but the service people say there is only one on each side.... If there is a top one I just hope that isn't the one that is bad.
theres two on dual climate cars i know for sure. One controls temp other controls modes like changing to defrost and where the air blows from the various vents.
@brucemeyer6345 I just got a 2013 Chrysler 300 and it makes the tapping noise under the dash on the passenger side. It does does the noise after I turn the engine off and sometimes while I'm driving. Also the air recirculating button flashes a couple of times when I press it. And then the button light turns off. I read that's the humidity sensor behind the rearview mirror. I did actually, I need to make a video on it. You have to remove all of the same parts plus drop the steering column, disconnect it from the steering shaft in the floor to get it completely out of the way and it makes changing that hard to get actuator alot easier.
So to access the UPPER temperature door actuator, did you have to remove the whole dash like you said? Best way to determine which one is clicking, is by removing everything like you're going to change it anyway and touch them while its clicking you will definitely feel which one is bad. All 4 actuators in the car are the same part number so one is not more likely to fail than the other unless you switch between the same couple of setting often.
