Free Produce Giveaways for Veterans

The special thing about the Veterans Urban Farm is that it’s by Veterans, for Veterans. In 2022 our crew grew over 16,700 lbs of fresh vegetables, then worked hard every Thursday to give it all away.
Every Thursday during the growing season our farm team packs up the week’s harvest and brings it to the Truman VA Hospital. Here they set up a pop-up farm stand at the hospital entrance. The goal is to get Veterans to eat more fresh veggies, by sending VA patients home with farm-fresh, first quality produce, completely free of charge.
