If you were to use sealed connections to the pots you could leave the tap on all the time, this would require you to prefill the pots with water first though. As the water seeps through the pot it would suck the water from the reservoir to continuously refill.
This is fabulous. I’m thinking I can use rain barrels for a long row of pots in my garden. We’re in zone 9b and get weeks of 117-120 degrees. I’ve been trying to figure out what to do. I’m going to try this.
Is it possible to push the T connection right into the pot as far as possible so that the tubing is running/touching along tje surface of the garden instead of being so high? Just from an aesthetic point of view
Well, Darn it! I bought pots yesterday and already put them together to install today...then you say don’t get the ones from Italy. Well guess what, yes they were made in Italy. I found them at Walmart to. Pennington brand. And I thought ...oooh, wow ..Italian made...they gotta be really good ones. Can you please say where we can look for the ones NOT made in Italy? You’d think Walmart but nooooo, they have the stinkin’ “made in Italy” oh hail!
Hi Adrian, there is a way to test to the clay pot to ensure it will work. So, the lower quality ones are porous. The high quality ones (usually made in Italy) have been fired at a higher temperature and less to zero porous. Our Gardners have found some at ACE hardware. To test the ones you have access to - fill it with a couple of inches of water. IF the bottom portion of the outside of the pot darkens, then it will work! That is the water seeping through.
You all probably dont care at all but does someone know a way to log back into an Instagram account?? I somehow lost the password. I love any tricks you can offer me!
Sorry, I realize your video was made three years ago and it was a very scary time for everyone with the pandemic, but you are outside and masks weren't needed in uncrowded spaces such as the garden. The problem I have is that you can barely be heard unless the person filming is close to you. Thanks for attempting to demonstrate for us though we do appreciate your attempt. May God always Bless you with good health and prosperity. I gave you a thumbs-up so that you can get paid, but I will not be subscribing.

This is the best method. I have done this for the last many years
Very nice

wouldn't you still need to introduce some air into the system? Like having a pipe go up at the end or something?
@@dozyproductionss Just need to allow a tiny bit of air into the reservoir so it doesn't get a vacuum.
@@darkknight145 as in not seal the reservoir all the way? Or introduce a hole in it as well?

Sounds great!
Thanks for your comment! 🙏🏻☺️ Have you tried it? Did it work? And would you recommed it? Would appreciate your answer. ❤️
WE have since removed our system and gave the pots to community gardeners who refill by hand watering. @@hannaroggentin3391

Test them out before burying them to check if they are porous! Good luck, hope it works.
@@UrbanHarvestHouston Do you happen to know how long it takes for the ollas to moisten the soil after being put in the ground and filled?
