What if a blizzard and a bank heist made history on one of the most wonderful times of the year?
Here is my EAS scenario for Christmas 2016. Was going to post this morning, but got delayed as always. However, I still managed to post it before Christmas ends.

By the way, Canada has their own EAS, Alert Ready with an ambulance kind of siren, but it's a good job you did

@NHLGoalHorns I'm curious, what is the reason for individual provinces having their own system if there's already a national system? I'm not saying there isn't a reason, I'm just wondering what it is. We don't have separate EAS systems for states beyond amber/silver alerts so that's why I'm wondering.

Alberta Emergency Alert is much better than the normal AlertReady system. I live in Alberta, and I noticed that the alerts here are more explained, and easier to comprehend.
@@notfranklinroosevelt2470 now i don't live in CAN so i can't say this for 100% certain, but AlertReady doesn't yet have a "local emergency" warning afaik, meaning that local emergencies are dealt with by individual provinces like Alberta

We have sirens and cell broadcasts (not working on 4G and some phones)

Maybe you could lobby your government to meet up with the NOAA/NWS officials in my country and they can help you make a watch and warning system that is modeled after the one that is in my country, +Laurynas Katilauskas?

FYI, you probably do the best eas mocks on UA-cam. You let scenarios marinate and play out a bit more...and always a twist ending. Great work.

Loved it. I especially liked the Mobile Phone alert being added in the middle of the scenario and the premise of the scenario as well.

Honestly this sounds a lot like the snow we in Manitoba got over the Christmas weekend. Man we got hit hard and are continuing to! It's system after system even now! I'm suprised the Alert Ready wasn't triggered through all this.
AlertReady isn't generally used to send weather alerts. It's more geared to civil emergencies and select weather alerts such as tornado warnings.
At the blizzard warning, I hear the EAS tones for cell phones.

As someone who lives in Welland, it's weird seeing my specific areas listed in one of these scenarios.

well your right they do eas systems but that system is for us only!
Not gonna lie in certain areas in Ontario multiple feet of snow and -40 is seen like most winters LMAO
Fun Fact: Canada Uses A Different EAS siren, and its much more scarier then the USA one for a fact!

You're partially correct. The FM/AM radio and TV alerts use a different siren, but weather radio stations use the American tones. Kind of odd. My guess as to why they chose to do this is because weather radios are made to activate when the American tones are broadcast. It would probably be a hassle to make them able to pick up the Canadian tones.

SPCparamus8900 lol the SVR on that map being surrounded by winter weather alerts cracked me up! They were probably like "WHY DOES EVERYONE ELSE GET SNOW DAYS WHILE WE ONLY GET A THUNDERSTORM?!?" Just think about it...but maybe it's just a SVR that was sent by mistake.

If you look it up, they actually do. It's separate from the AlertReady system used nationwide.
