Hey there, I’m 67 and I don’t think you know just how helpful you are to all of us older folks who don’t have younger people around us and don’t want to listen to boring music. Track my age back to know what we cut our teeth on. By tuning into you I get to hear freaking fantastic songs like this one. I go by lyrics then the music and this song is amazing, straight onto my playlist and will be checking out what else they do. Oh, and I rewatch your reactions to Dan Vasc, it’s like listening with a friend. I can’t say too much about the way he looks cause that could sound creepy (my age and his), but I agree with your assessment of him. I have been listening to him for a while and was so happy when he sang Amazing Grace, he got noticed, oh and I have decided I like carols. And the least important I am Australian also, unimportant in the way that music is the language that breaks all barriers. You can tell I’m old, I am writing a thesis here cause I have the time, 😂😂😂😂. I had to stop the video. I haven’t finished watching it yet. But the talk about people only seeing you if you talk about your past or trauma really hit me in a way I didn’t know I could be hit. I’m at the stage where I’m discovering myself outside my trauma. Who I am. I had a pretty messy past with years of abuse and trauma. Basically I was born into it. Now I’m 21 and I have two feeding tubes and a permanent iv that goes to my heart. My stomach and colon are paralyzed and I have pots, MCAS. And cerebral palsy. For the longest time people would see my medical devices like my wheelchair or when I had a nasal feeding tube or central line in my arm called a picc. All that was talked about was my health. It was like the only way I connected with people for the longest time. And I think what hit me with this talk was how I didn’t even know that was happening. My life was so consumed. Right now I have this in the background why I’m giving myself iv meds through the line that goes to my heart. I had surgery 4 days ago to get a new one placed after sepsis. I told coworkers about this traumatic situation like it was nothing. Seems I’m still working on the part about me not being my medical issues or my trauma. I want to be so much more. The funny thing is I hate pitty or when people make it seem like this stuff makes me lower than them and I can’t do things without them. But at the same time that’s the only time I feel valid to be mad and upset that this stuff hurts me emotionally. I’m rambling now and I think I’m in a loop/ spiral mentally. So I’m gonna stop talking and do some grounding stuff. Thank you to anyone who read this. Sorry I’m typing with gloves on. So if anything is a mess ignore that 😂 remember you are loved and there’s support out there. If you’re in a dark place hit me up. I’m happy to listen. ❤
