Happy New Year to you all! Thanks for all the support and interest in the layout during 2019. I still can't get to grips with how many are interested in a layout in the attic! When I started in 2010 I'd never have thought there would be 57k people following me in 2019. It's very much appreciated. As always I'll be back with more progress in 2020, Cheers
Happy 2020 from your admirers in Brazil! (Hot as hell here in Rio...) Your channel is the best i have encoutered, educational AND entertaining, and, the best feature, IMHO, it is about the modelling, not the modeller... Cheers!
Call the Sweeney!! Your'e nicked! lol! Lovely. Thanks for the shout out mate. I am really glad you took inspiration from my layout as I have taken so much from yours over the years. Dave
loved the cinamatic opening to this. Thanks a lot! glad to be one of the 57k that are following you develop this layout. All your work is amazing. I just wish I had the time and dedication that you do.
I remember going to a model railway exhibition at my dads work the post office AGD in Chesterfield and thought the modelling was amazing. I satrted buying bits as a kid but never had the skills to put anything together. My dad bought loads of rolling stock but never did anything with them. A few years ago I started buying items again and need to make a start when I get chance, if I get 50% the effect you have I will be happy.
It must be lovely for the telephone operators while reading their newspapers can also listen to the splashes, grunts and plops coming through the egg-box doors of the lavatory block!
The algorithm has delivered me here today to just say that one thing I've found, which really, really, sells a model, is the sound. It really puts you "in" the model. Also, a realistic light source that casts nice shadows also helps. Wonderful work you do!
I really like your layout. I'm an American but have an interest in British Trains as well as American ones. Your videos give me inspiration for my own layout.
What a great job on this building! I think it would be a great place for a couple of railfans on top of the building watching the action. Lemme see, tripod, ice chest (keep the root beer ice-cold!), maybe a lawn chair or two. Great action right there!
Beautiful!! I love your channel and I have soon watched everything. The only thing I did not like was the toilet. I think it would have looked better with the door facing the window, at least one door. But as the rest of your stuff, beautiful. I am 60 years old and what difference this is comparing to my Märklin 50years ago. A circle and a few bags of green coloured powder poured over the area. I find it amazing on how I can enjoy your work and the best, your voice narrate the progress. I just relax watching the wonders.
The building turned out very nice. Mirrors will look good in the karate room. Maybe a punching bag/dummy would be a nice addition also. Great video, fun to watch.
Hi Richard Superb attention to detail, it wasn’t till you put your rings by the fridge, you realise what scale size you are working with, even the cardboard boxes looked real to. Kitchen looked great once it was completed. Great work by a professional modeller. Huge 👍 Thumbs Up 👍
Staff Turnover..Good one! Keep these coming as you can. I'm sure this take's a huge amount of time to produces what you do for us. I for one..really appreciate it! Looking forward to 2020. Thanks. Mark
Its got a feel of Thunderbirds are Go about it! Thunderbird 1 could be landing on the roof. You say you aren't an expert but you are an expert in the EJ world!
Love the robbery scene. Great vids. Great layout. Thanks for all the hard work making the videos. The effort does not go unnoticed. Hope 2020 is a good one for you.
Best wishes joy and happiness for 2020 thanks for being what you are and the inspiration you bring to us. All the best Richard (a French fan from la Réunion )
As always an inspiration Richard. You were my first model railway tutor :) Two years on, I am still learning. Well done on the offices buildings. It looks really impressive and I loved your intro.
Good Day Richard. I hope your Christmas was everything that you had wished for. Another great video. Nice work on the building. I'm sure it will add even more interest to your layout. I would hope that you have been a good boy this year and that Santa stopped by and left some new additions for you to work your magic with. I look forward to some new videos. Please keep up with the wonderful work you keep posting. All the best to you and yours for 2020.
in 2019 favorite channel viewing activity: watching model paint dry in 2020 new favorite: watching model lights turn on and off 😁 all time favorite channel quotes: "I'm quite pleased with it." and "Of course there are a few more bits and pieces to add." happy new year! ty for posting : )
Lots of cardboard boxes because they're all packing up and moving out to the new trading estate on the edge of town because they are sick of all the crime in this area... Thanks for sharing your inspiring hobby work with us, and Happy New Year
Honestly your eye for detail is astounding. Once again another fantastic addition to your already brilliant layout. I can’t wait to see what you have planned for your station. HNY and Happy Modelling for 2020.
Looks fantastic! Just a further idea about small retail businesses in the 80s: video rental shops. Pre-Blockbusters, they were small, local entrepreneurs, usually with just the one shop, sometimes doubling as an off licence or a corner shop. Also, maybe KP Foods could have a couple of smelly black plastic refuse sacks outside its side door?
Love the fact you used warm white LEDs instead of the blueish white onces most people use. The blueish ones look too much like doctors office or hospital lighting. Keep up the excellant work!
Great work once again! I really like the way this building has developed. Good to see you've got some Amiga 500s advertised and some pics taken from the Amiga magazines back then. It would have been cool if you'd have made the shop a branch of SRS Computer Systems which I know sold Amigas in Watford back then ;-) That Amiga Computing magazine with the Terminator-style face on takes me back as well. I still have that very magazine from the early 90s. A bit more detail on the roof would be great as well. Try putting a satellite dish and a few more ariels up there, and maybe a few pigeons for good measure as well :-)
Brilliant job as always. Just got a small suggestion and not critical by any means but maybe up the side wall of the cafe you could add one of those catering extracter things that go up the side of the building. It looks awesome as it is but you always go the extra mile for detail and perfection. Great job happy New year
Hi there I have been watching this build since before you took the old one apart and will continue watching for as long as it takes you to finish I hope you don't finish to soon as they are great to watch. Many thanks for the update can't wait to see more.👍👍
Great films I've been watching the new build from the beginning, ii even got the urge to build another one now, but got nowhere room, the attic is way to low, so thinking of something smaller which can be put away, thanks for uploadin
Happy New Year Graham, fantastic work, the building looks great, I like the rooms with individual lighting and being able to turn them any room on or off. Looking forward to seeing your updates in 2020. Regards Gary.
A few years back I designed a PCB around a PIC micro that controlled the lighting in my wife's dolls house. I'm sure with the addition of an Arduino, 16 channel PWM "servo" board and a clock module and you could set up each room to automatically come on or turn off at preset times. The servo board would allow you to set the individual brightness for each LED too. - Excellent video, and look forward to seeing the layout develop further in 2020
Like that toliet block. I just started putting the interior detailing together on my main station building now tht my lighting inside is done. Gives me an idea for a statrting point. awesome
Taking the time and thinking through ideas and then making them into models, give you the results you were looking for., I think it has turned very good indeed. I like watching videos of this type and is show me would can be done. Planing, making and then finishings. Too modern for me, it has given me some ideas for the interior of a manor house I am making. Martin. (Happy New Year, Dhaka, Bangladesh)
Great job on the office building, it looks fantastic. The attention to detail makes all the difference and the lighting is the cherry on the cake. You could add a couple of those tiny rusty alarm boxes with a flashing LED or two as it is an insurance companies office and with the computer shop on the ground floor. Looking forward to seeing the Karate club come on. Great video as usual, exciting 2019, roll on 2020 and that station build, can’t wait. Happy new year Richard. Cheers, Jon.
Great bit of lighting there, definitely adds to the realism. Something I've just begun trying out is using a colour-changing LED lightbulb so I can create different ambient lighting conditions across the layout. For example, I can get an orange glow for sunrise/sunset, a dim blue for a moonlit night, that kind of thing. I'd definitely recommend you look into that, as it would complement your building lighting nicely I think.
Happy New Year and best wishes for 20 20 The intro was brilliant. Inside the office is looking fantastic as well. It really does make a huge difference adding detail like that Prieser also make a lot of detailing items that are worth a look at for some of your scenes.
This is brilliant! But to someone who fusses over minuscule details of the roof vents of diesel locomotives, I'd like to point out that "Farce" is hardly a "prototypical" name for an insurance company. Happy New Year, Peter
This is coming along nicely Richard. Lovely to watch your meticulous attention to detailing - fantastic! As you say, keep up the same format as it is brilliant. Thank you for showing & letting us in on your great modelling expertise. Well done! All the best for the New Year 2020 Cheers Iain
After adding all of those amazing details inside the building, I think some external weathering to match the rest of the layout could be fantastic! It might be useful just to tone down some of the brighter outstanding walls. Great video as always, that intro made me laugh too. Keep up all the awesome work on the layout, hopes to a smashing 2020! 👍
Very nice job on the office building & interiors Richard! Fits in well with the quality of your layout. Hope the police catch the crooks before Data Base goes out of business. A Happy, Healthy & Safe New Year to you and yours! Best, John
Hi Richard, no doubts the robery will feature in an episode of Crime Watch soon lol. Offices look great. Looking forward to more instalments of EJ in 2020. Happy New Year, all the best, Bobby 'T'.

The police will catch up with that transit just wait that road loops back around
As we are something like 25k Police Officers short in the UK I wouldn't bank on it happening any time soon!

Arguably much more interesting than many model railway exhibitions!
That opening is just brilliant 😁😂

Railroad Million American town layout and junction would be interesting.
It must take a passion and vision to detail all that you have achieved
What a great job on this building! I think it would be a great place for a couple of railfans on top of the building watching the action. Lemme see, tripod, ice chest (keep the root beer ice-cold!), maybe a lawn chair or two. Great action right there!
Nobody’s ever gonna see that interior, but it’s gonna add a hell offa lot of extra detail, I like doing that in my stuff.
Another great video. I noted no rooftop hatch on top. As long as no one is going to jump of the roof!!! Nice building Richard. 👍👍
Beautiful!! I love your channel and I have soon watched everything. The only thing I did not like was the toilet. I think it would have looked better with the door facing the window, at least one door. But as the rest of your stuff, beautiful.

Internal office is very impressive and I like the data base shop with compaq poster in window.
Amazing work . Love the Creativity ! Wonderful !
Great job Richard 👍

Extraordinary! Don’t know size of 10 pence coin but guess it’s size of US Quarter. Fantastic results working with such small items.
Setting the pace for sure. An inspiration for many....10/10
10 years of your railway! Congrats!

For those of us of a 'certain age' we remember the era well. I started work for NSE in 89... so the era you depict.
Those scale newspapers would look great spread across the top of the dashboard of a builder's Ford Transit van.
Super job as always Richard.. Roll on Station work!
Happy New Year to you too! Awesome work on the building, very convincing indeed!
Happy New Year Graham, fantastic work, the building looks great, I like the rooms with individual lighting and being able to turn them any room on or off. Looking forward to seeing your updates in 2020. Regards Gary.

Darren Marshall that’s cool!
Awesome work. I’ve learned a few thing and inspired some ideas in my head for my future projects

Loved that intro great video as always ! Happy Newyear Richard from Denmark 🍾
Happy New Year, Everard Junction.
all you need parked down the side of the electronics shop is a robin reliant that would be amazing :)
Happy New Year and best wishes for 20 20 The intro was brilliant. Inside the office is looking fantastic as well. It really does make a huge difference adding detail like that Prieser also make a lot of detailing items that are worth a look at for some of your scenes.

Very nicely done Richard - you should be emenously proud of this build. Happy new year to you. Euan
Love the robbery sequence. And the Amiga posters. Exceptional
Great video and happy new year
I bought a Commodore Vic 20 from that shop. It was rubbish. Fantastic building Richard. Great video. Happy NY.

Great video as always, that intro made me laugh too. Keep up all the awesome work on the layout, hopes to a smashing 2020! 👍
The intro is soo good
Once again your attention to detail really sets your modeling apart.
Great little intro too.
Genius introduction and love the name Farce Insurance.
The Karate Club would look good with just big white letters stuck on windows
haven't stopped by for a while, but your layout has come together nicely
Love it. Only things i can think of are illuminated signs with led or perhaps wall mounted street lights on corners of building.
Homage to the sweeney. Nicely done.
Got the Tom?
Nah, but I nearly got a fridge
Very nice job on the office building & interiors Richard! Fits in well with the quality of your layout. Hope the police catch the crooks before Data Base goes out of business. A Happy, Healthy & Safe New Year to you and yours! Best, John
