Great video I am a single mother of three boys and I need to learn it thank you so much I never knew what was the flight site for but now I know please show me more video thank you
I like the spiked side. the flat side gave me a waved look, but smushed my hair. The spiked side gave me little loc twists. which is what I wanted. It also works best when my hair is dry too.
Brush I just cut mine today 12 years also. Honestly before you cut them just be sure that's what you really want to do. It honestly hurt my soul to cut mine, but I had to
For me (small 4C afro): 1. mixing eco gel and some jamaican castor oil in my hands and then massaging into my hair, 2. using the flat side of the sponge to completely twist up all my hair, 3. then using the textured side completely all over my hair to loosen the twists Edit: turns out the sponge has been breaking my ends this whole time and keeping my 4c hair short 🤦🏽♂️ lol if this is happening to you as well do this instead: 1. Pat coconut oil on your hair and then massage into your scalp 2. Use the scalp massager and it twists up your hair just like a curl sponge but further down to the roots for deeper twists, also better blood circulation and no breakage 3. Could then also use a wide tooth pick to lift your twists slightly but don’t comb all the way through
My 11 yr old wants me to do this to his hair, I believe he is 4c, from what I can tell. I think you've given the best tip from other videos that I've watched. Ty!
I'm a white Mediterranean girl, but I watched this video, cause this sponge technique looks soo interesting and so fun, I didn't know this existed 😅😋❤️
I use both sides. Now that my hair is lengthy I use the spiked side more and 1st, then I finish with a slight grazing over the hair with the other side that has the smaller holes just to get a more defined curl look.
recently cut my locs and purchased a similar two sided sponge. although I couldn't see a difference the spiked side works best for me wet or dry hair and seems to be like the run and grab side instead of having to set aside time to sponge my head in the mornings. LIKED & SUBSCRIBED
I think castor oil the extra dark one sunny isle i use i find when the hair is washed and then dried like 80%-90% then applying the castor oil gives the hair a more better friction works well together with the spike side of the brush. I don't use watery gels or anything because it does the opposite.
Been waving for YEARS..but let it grow out , was gonna cut it at the start of the New year.. but I happen to get the same sponge brushes from Amazon and will give this a try..
I'm confused. What is the difference in the look of the hair after each side is used? I'm buying one for my son and wanted to see how to use first. I like the way it looks but I don't see much difference in using the bumply side compared to the alternate side with the holes? And should I be putting any sort of product in his hair before using the sponge? Water, detangler, moisturizing oil stuff?
Man, the sound the sponge was making reminded me of the time I recorded my dryer going and I had change in my pants pocket that fell out in the dryer and I made a Neo-Soul beat from it.
I recently had locs and had to cut them because I would twist them to thin but have decided to grow them back . Hopefully this video will help me grow my hair back out.
Thanks bro, I just understood and it's working thanks to your video, you just have keep brushing by doing circles continuously without pressure and that's how you obtain results. A big thanks.
Great video bro 😎 I just bought this product at rite aid and I have a question I hope it doesn’t sound dumb but would u recommend tht I can use this curl sponge in the shower while showering?
Try Eden Coconut Shea. It's BoB and formulated for our hair. Shea Moisture is no longer BoB, they hiked the price, and is getting negative feedback from the community.
HOPE THIS VIDEO HELPS SOMEONE...FOLLOW ME ON IG LINK IN DESCRIPTION!!!
I'm mad your video was more helpful than the women's videos. 😆 🤣 First time using the sponge and it turned out great. Following you. 🤩
Hi quick question does this work on big afro? Or is it only for small hair, because i have much more hair than the guy in the video

Does it matter what kind of eco gel?
Can you do it with wet hair
I have a question
Twin you just like me please help me did you use the plastic scalp massagers that are like circular?
Coming from from having locs myself for almost 10 years, this video gets the thumbs up and a subscription 👍🏾

just got my hair sponged for the first time mad dope i just bought one, does your hair have to be wet?
I apply a little pressure cause it seems like my hair won't curl, I also use a little defining gel and spray moisturizer or water.

If you want a proper twist, use the pointed side first and after that go for the other side, you will have a perfect twist

Just using water is fine everything else extra
Depending on hair texture u gotta go by trial and errors I found out finally
Use products in his hair especially breakage protection products cuz the sponge will cause breakage after awhile unless the hair is protected
A non destructive way to have good hair. Thanks fod helping me
Quite a work out.. love it. But can I use Gel Wax with a little ECO gel.🍧
I like both to me but I'm digging the curly hair looks different on you
Thanks
I cut my locs I was growing since 2013. I'm trying to start over. Been wearing a cap for about a year....gonna try this!

Thank you for the tutorial!!! How do you maintain it for bed? My son is 1 going on 2, I'm tempted to give him a durag to keep the curl pattern. in. 😅
You can but since he's so young I'd do a bonnet or something not so tight for him
I wish they had this back in 79 when I wore my juri curl! 😂
Thanks for the tutorial. Got the sponge. Hair looks Great
Oh my gosh!! I needed this! Lol I’m Mexican but my son is mixed and it’s so difficult to do his hair

Do u use any hair products first? How long do u curl to get results
Shoutout to you Brodie life saver

did you put a bunch of moisturizers in your hair or does this work naturally too?
Thank you for making this video
Yea I agree with you bro,
I like the side with holes better too!
The sponge gives you locs my brother used it for a while and got locs without doing anything
Did he ever comb or pick his hair? I know that’s how it happens
If you use the sponge consistently without picking your hair out than eventually it will give you locs
