Sorry to see that Butter couldn't stay in that nano. He gave you wonderful content while it lasted and he'll have new friends now. Hope he does well in his new home.
I put a yellow clown goby in my nano with a yellow watchman goby pistol shrimp pair and everything is been fantastic. I have a hammer coral and a a condi, thats it. He hasn't bothered those, I don't think they bother anemones and things that look like that. I love the color on mine too, just like these blue lightning bolts going across his eyes and the color of the lightning bolt is even on his eyeball so there's no break in the lightning bolt. I've never seen one this beautiful and shockingly I got him at Petco, I didn't even know that saltwater fish and just saw that one day.
I just took my Clown Goby back to the pet store because it kept nippling at my Brian Coral. Only had is 2 days and my coral was already being killed. I really liked the fish because it’s cute but I like to coral more lol
Making me rethink the two yellow Clown Gobys I have coming tomorrow... that fish would have been out of my tank on the second day! Would have just replaced it with something else. Too bad it killed your corals. Definitely not worth putting into another tank IMO I would have just donated it or got some store credit.... wonder what it’s eating now... nice video editing btw Some great shots
I think they go 'crazy' after sometime. I owned 1 YCG, it completely docile and seemed to be reef safe. But then one day i witnessed it harassing my frogspawn corals. For weeks earlier i wondered why my frogspawn deteriorated while water parameters were all fine. Turned out because YCG nipped them constantly.
@@AquaSplendor that fish looked cute and innocent before. I had it for 2 months before i spotted it nipping frogspawn. It bite, took a little chunk of frogspawn, but then it spewed that chunk. But knowing frogspawn wasn't that delicious that fish still nipped it again and again. I posted the picture here, picture number 8,9 and 10 reefsforum.com/index.php?threads/crazy-little-thing-called-pico-reef-tank.7884/page-4 It was back in 2015 and my tank was pico, around 17 litres of water. Back then, i thought this nipping activity might be because the tank was too small for YCG. So i moved that fish to my FOWLR tank which is around 100 litres. It never harassed other fishes or my shrimp though.
i have something red on sandbed and glass. i thought it was cyano but dont have it on rock like you showed. The glass gets crazy dirty and red and needs to be cleaned at least every other day and chemi clean hasnt worked. What do you think it could be?
Sorry I don't know but I wouldn't recommend using chemical that are made to kill, rarely it target one specific thing. A good husbandry, cleanup and water change is your best friend. Its simple and effective. Create your own routine.
I just added one to my cart! OMG! I had no idea. I have watched many videos and so many people that love them and their behavior! Is it only Sps he goes after? I have softies and LPS. Do I need to worry because I thought I saw some footage of lps to but all the comments say sps
My YCG has been in the tank for two weeks and has already stripped half the sps and has moved on to acans. He’s one of my all time favourite fish but the second I get chance he’s straight out the tank and back to the store
I have a small yellow clown goby, in a 125 mixed reef. He’s never touched any corals in this way. Do you feed frozen food; and when you do, does he eat it?
Yup! Funny you mention the size of your aquarium, I believe it's the cause of his behavior. I had one in my lab tank and was fine. Seem like each fish can be different

Green clown gobies are better around coral, but are less active... if you’re attached to nano perching fish... I know it’s tough to remove fish, I’ve had to do it myself to my favorite fish
@@AquaSplendor I had to remove a wrasse? And it would literally go INTO a rock. I had to bring a whole rock to my LFS because it wouldn’t come out! (It was an aggressive six line wrasse)
