    skipping the sketch in the process is incredibly insane

    Wow, going straight into blocking the silhouette makes so much more sense in my brain than sketching a GUESS of a loose+sloppy form, cleaning it up, changing the proportions as i go, figuring out and locking in the forms and shapes, re-sketching over the draft sketch, and THENNN starting on colors, lights+shadows. Meticulously coloring in the whole form and then alphalocking so i don't go over the lines. UHG!
    I'm attempting a version of this process in my sketchbook with my markers literally right now since i don't have my ipad at the moment. just being able to splat down the general shapes with marker then refining with pencil on top makes sooooo much sense for me. Thank you so much!

    Hello, I just wanted to thank you for your videos and tutorials because they’ve really helped improved my art a lot! I started to stray away from lineart and started practicing with more color/shadow/light and it’s improving my realism, so then again thank you for videos!

    I've been following your work for a short time, and I already really enjoyed your videos, but now I have to tell you that you've done a really great job of presenting and explaining your process. I also sometimes paint with blocky shapes, so watching your videos makes me want to dig even deeper into this style, as it allows me to focus solely on the essential aspects of a painting. Well done, keep up the good work, you have my full support (if you're aiming for a Patreon in the future, I'll be there).

    This made me realize I am going overboard with soft edges😮
    Question how do I choose better colors instead of relying on multiply layers

    inspiring improvement. to the point where i also started a youtube channel somewhere to see how far my skills will take me as well. great video although i would check the audio on the background music sometimes its too strong sometimes the adui level itself or the music itself is too strong either way keep going 👌

    Your process is so cool! I don’t consider myself an artist by any means (I practice anatomy & line quality but actually drawing? Ha... non-existent!) I'm curious as to how you started drawing - did you start your process with line art sketches (for drawing, or even learning basic anatomy/clothing) when you first began drawing, or did you learn to color block first? I feel like there's a great advantage to color blocking from the get-go because the shape language seems so much more distinct and appealing, and getting to color early on is a great way to establish what personality and mood, which is the fun part I love seeing in any artist's work. Anyways, very nice piece!!

      Oh I completely understand what you mean. Yes, I used to start with linear sketches, but over time, I realized that I wanted more expressiveness in my art. I struggled with the lines and felt restricted by them, as if I couldn't deviate from the initial sketch. It took me some time to understand that using both lines and shapes in the blocking process is perfectly fine, and it's actually fun to find a balance between the two. I'm still exploring this journey myself,and right now, I'm focusing more on using shapes and color blocking. Thank you for your support!! 😀🙏

    Thanks, I really enjoy your videos!
    I'm curious about how do you not get lost in so many layers. Doesn't it slow you down? Do you ever merge them or just stack until you're done?

    • @Tanalieku
      @Tanalieku  10 місяців тому +1

      Thank you! Well, I do sometimes combine layers if I feel like there are too many and they are slowing me down. But usually, I prefer to keep them separate until I'm done, just in case I need to make adjustments later.

    Your art is so motivating to me...
    I have to ask, you use Procreate you say? How do you stop Procreate from making all the edges fuzzy when you edit/shift/transform one of the shapes?

    • @Tanalieku
      @Tanalieku  10 місяців тому +1

      Thanks! Your words mean a lot to me!!
      About Procreate, yeah, I've noticed that too. Sometimes the edges get a bit fuzzy when I edit or transform stuff. But it's not a big deal for me, especially at 4000x2000 px. I just try not to mess around with objects too much to keep it in check. Haven't figured out a way to stop it completely though.

      @@Tanalieku Thanks so much for the reply! Ahh, you make it all seem to stay so smooth! I suppose the real trick is just trying to work with the limitations until they fix it. I will try to draw bigger, though! Thank you again!

    Or is it automatically built into your iPad? Cuz I want to buy a tactile laptop which I'll have to download some digital painting program on and I don't know which one to choose (moreover I've never ever had any contact with digital art before and i'm also a begginer artist on paper)
