Some advice from an old camper , 60 gallon trash bags , put the bottom of the sleeping bag in it pull it as high up as it will go ,cut the bottom out of bag 2 ,put it over the bottom one ,pull it up leaving about 3 inches over the first ones top , great insulation as it traps more body heat and also acts as a waterproof ground cover
you are an awesome Mom and an epic role model for your (and other ppl’s) kids! Some of my life’s best memories were forged by my parents by taking us kids outdoors...hiking, exploring, swimming and sledding. Your daughters will always remember these adventures with you!
When I was there in 01-02 I climbed my first 14er (in Hawaii I was just shy if 14,000 ft), and there was no snow except in the mountains to the west. No real summer, but no snow. It is good hiking even with a little extra snow trouble ... in late June ...
So blessed to have these memories documented to pass down. I wish that there were this kind of technology when I was a kid. There were 8mm cameras but we were too poor to have one.
It is so cool to do stuff with the kids. As single parents, it is even more important to spend quality time with them.Doing things outside challenges them and makes for awesome memories. In the last three months I've seen a big positive change in my oldest girls life, all because I spent time with her. You are an awesome Mom with awesome kids, keep it up! Bryan from Vancouver
Oooh, lookee the snow!! Hope everyone boots are warm. My son used to go with us, my daughter wouldn't THINK of it. HATES the outdoors 😕😝 Good job on the fire, Madison!! You might be WARM tonight!!
Wonderful to see you out and about with the girls. When you have snow like that on a trail it takes some of the enjoyment out of the trip when you have to concentrate on safety, would have been nice to carry a walking stick when you have to cross those well made "bridges", but good show. The girls fire making is becoming noticeably more practiced, looking forward to seeing more.
Beautiful trail, except for the snow. Y’all did well. I could see how tired you all were.👍🏻 oh, those mountain shots! Took my breath away. Thanks Tammy
Love watching you Kaila and Madison in the beautiful snowy mountains in June. It gives me the winter feeling I long for while I'm in the south eastern part of the United States in 💯 degree weather. You, Rocky and the lovely girls have a great time!!!😀
Tammy and cubs, thanks for sharing and bringing us along. You all did great , who would have thought, snow in June , almost July . It was nice to visit with you again. 👍
WoW! you have some holy fire wood. You handled that cattle guard very well. Always a pleasure to join you. Rocky sure likes cooling off in the snow. Your phone has a crack on its face. When you gotta go, you gotta go. Another great video. Have a super wonderful day.
Love your videos. Your daughters are growing up so nicely. I love that they are learning and helping mommy...awesome!. I purchased some land in Colorado last year so I love watching your videos to see what the weather is like in the mountains during the year. I am in another state.
Tammy. Just love watching you with Kaila and Madison and of coarse Rocky. That water looked very cold but Rocky didn't seem to mind. Look forward to your next family video.
My health is to bad to do these types of hikes.. But I do what I can. We live in INDIANA (CENTRAL)FLAT LAND. SO we walk thru our corn fields all 200 acres around our farm house. Our Granddaughter plays softball, is on the swim team does competitive cheerleading also does mini 4-H & shows her antique tractor. SO SHE IS BUSY & LOVES IT.. I walk every other day with my 8 1/2 year old Granddaughter & her Chihuahua.. MY granddaughter rides bicycles in the little town next to US with GRANDPA, MOM & Auntie.. They all 4 go primitive camping about every 5 weeks from March - November.. We have a pool & swim. We ride 4 wheelers too.. We are very active each one of us help out with her interests. Yes it is so important to encourage the children to get outside. So many are entertained by electronics.. We believe idle hands are the devils workshop.. GOD BLESS
looked like an awesome day to tag along with 3 beautiful ladies....and rocky of course !! Even simple trails that are snow covered can be a tough walk...For safety and support have everyone hiking together find a hiking staff (there are plenty laying about ) Fun to see what different shapes ,carvings and trinkets hanging by the end of the outing...fun project and safety devise as well... sure makes snow shelves and river crossings a little more controlled...also if someone slips ,can be used as an extension pole to aid in rescue....for me it's a "never go on trail without it" tool...a staff... pair of trekking poles or both.....
Tammy, I just have to say that U R one Awesome Mom, If I had, Had a nurturing Mother such as Ur self what a different woman I would have become, Don't get me wrong, I Loved my Mom & I still do, although she's been promoted into the Next steps of her Journey. I was always an outdoorsy type of child taking long walks & climbing rock formations in the Mountains of Red Feather Lakes, & loving R trips up to Deadmans Mountain & then on to Lost Lake & let's not forget the Horseback rides thru the back country. My Mom never was one to do anything that had any adventure attached to it. She was content to sit in the house knitting & crocheting, Those R a Great & Fun craft, but when U really need an adventure there's nothing like getting out & exploring the Forest/Woods of the Big & Wild Rockies..... Thank U for being that kind of a Mother for Ur girls............& the Memories that Ur building in their lives & Hearts, things they will pass down to their Children & Their Children's Children...What a LEGACY.....
Let her pack the skirt. (Keep backup warm gear just in case of absolute emergency). A cold uncomfortable trip is a great 'convincer' of Mom's Wisdom. Tough Love.
Wow it looks like when Rocky is knee-deep in water he don't lap up the water like normal he gulps it.. I noticed that when you went on slow motion.. can't believe there's still snow up there. 😎
2nd comment. As far as the skirts if she packs them she wears them. After about an hour on the trail pull out of your backpack a pair of warmer pants.. TOUGH love.. Do not make her change at the tent on the trail. SHE WILL NEVER FORGET THIS LESSON. GRAMMYS TOUGH LOVE...
Cool day with the girls. That hike was interesting in this Summwin we are experiencing. From my back deck i can still see snow on the Mesa less than 10 miles from house. Glad y'all had a good time and to me there is something about knowing you are not at the top of the food chain :) Peace.
I went for a drive on the Mirror Lake scenic byway in the Uinta mountains yesterday and there were a few side roads that still had snow on them. It was a crazy winter!
What can I say except good job on a rough hike . Good job on the bridge Rocky! Oh to be a kid , able to finish a hike and still have energy to click heels ! Of course you can do a lot with ice creams in the future.
Think it’s so cool you had snow in June. We are at the 90 degree mark in Jersey right now? Rather have the snow next to the wood stove. Thanks Tammy and kids
My daughter and my son n law just left Colorado to Hawaii. He’s stationed there for 3 years. They were going to go to some haunted hotel before they left Colorado and the road was closed due to a foot of snow! Crazy! My son n law’s mom (in Breckinridge)has a video of a momma mountain lion and her babies. Would love to see one from a distance. Stay safe.💜

Uhuh, late snow means biting flies and mosquitoes :) I mentioned how to keep the fire through most of the night so you keep some heat, and then make it toasty early to clean out the pipe and inspire a good warm morning.
Yes please! I want to go.. Lol!!! They will learn that Mom knows what is what in the woods... Period! Usually that big cat passes thru n he will keep going... Just don' t smell like a yummy steak! Lol! Thanks for sharing! ATB from sunny Wintergarden,Florida!
I will hike 7 miles for ice cream, as I was sitting in the house heard the ice cream truck ran out and got chocolate ice cream cone and it was so good, I always try to be careful when crossing streams or beaver dams, but I know one of my hiking trips I'm going to fall in and it's going to be funny.
Cougars attack the back of the neck/head. A dog is great to have around. You’re such a great mom. 💕 we enjoy yer vids so much ! didn’t you recently get 2 feet of snow ❄️? Wow
Im not being critical but the way she is wearing her knife at time 12 30 if she falls the butt of the knife can go up into the ribs or the blade into the top of her leg. A old horse packer showed me this and also the advantages of a horizontal knife sheath easier access with both hands ,comfort and the main thing safety
With July 4th coming up next week, amazed how much snow ya'll have! Good momma you are! Hey, that a special viking step kicking your heels together up in the air?😉😉😉😀

Comment on daughter getting cold. I use to get cold at night Until I bought a thick wool blanket and put in my sleeping bag. U can get a nice army for $16.00.
hmmm (i grunted) Skirts haaaaa ... Girls will be girls. (i shrugged in that dismissive cant do anything about that kinda way) Looks to me like you did an outstanding job. .. one time was hiking in December across an ice covered embankment, next to the lower falls, on my in to the upper falls (kaaterskill falls) i slipped and fell landed on my back camera on my chest, happy i saved my camera and didn't crack my skull again, I slide to the edge of the embankment, luckily i slid to a stop and did not have to us a tree as a fall arrester. i got up slowly and walked in the rest of the way and took a classic photo of the falls with the trees all covered in Ice from the mist of the creek.. looks like the snow is no issue for y'all either. I hope and pray life is as wonderful and joyous for you in reality as you portray in all your videos. J
Looks agreat time with your kids, but you need to put a sat phone on the next buy list, that would give you and the kids peace of mind no matter where you are if you need help, and maybe that would be in a hurry, which happens. Arthur (UK)
Love them tree's forest Nice .....💞💞💞

So relaxing.
Very cool. My son (now 22) was taught very early to love and respect fire, plants, and all things nature. Enjoy these times.
