I've been stuck on getting the sony 70-200 2.8. I'm pretty sure I want to save my money and make the big investment. But I never considered the weight of it. Almost $1300 more. But you also get the classic whiye lense and that red "G". But....it's $1300 more. Good video!
Thanks! In my opinion that sony 70-200 2.8 is pretty much the perfect lens, but this Tamron really had me reconsidering that for a bit. I won't be purchasing it myself, but it's a great alternative for people not looking to drop $2600 or don't want to deal with the massive weigh of the Sony.
Tamron lenses are great performers. They may be made out of plastic but, I have been using my Tamron 28-75mm for a couple of years now and it looks and functions like new. I just purchased the new Tamron 11-20mm f/2.8 lens which is also a great performer.
I’m kind of a purist in that I’ve always bought the brand lenses to match my canon and Sony cameras. I talked myself into trying this lens instead of the 70-200 for my Sony cameras. I’ve used it on an a6600 and an A7rii. I have to say I’m really very happy with the lens. No regrets.
I'm thinking of this lens on an a6600. What are your thoughts on it. Considered getting the a7111 but I'm trying to keep my weight down due to having back problems
My lens gets delivered today... wasnt thinking about using it as a portrait lens, mostly telephoto during wedding ceremonies, but after seeing this vid id be crazy not to use it as a portrait lens. That model kinda looks like a young Jennifer Connelly, awesome work
Hi Stewart, thank you so much for the information. I just purchased a Tamron 70 180 lens for my Sony A7c. However, I heard that my lens has a part inside that can move and generate a click sound when I flip the lens up and down. When I turn the camera on, that sound goes away. I wonder if you have any idea on this sound? Is it normal?
If it’s the sound I’m thinking of it’s really normal. A lot of my lenses make a little bit of sound when you shake them around. It’s just the focus motor and the other moving pieces. If it doesn’t affect performance I wouldn’t worry about.
Hi Stewart, I shoot with a A7iii and this lens, what are your settings for eye focus continuous to follow subject, also notice no other info on screen. Thankyou from OZ fan
I have back button autofocus programmed, and my focus mode is set to continuous. So as long as I hold down the button it will stay locked on eyes or faces. I’ll make a video about my custom set up. I used an atomos ninja v to capture the screen and I set the display options to minimum as to not clutter up the screen. Hope all that made sense! Please let me know if you have any other questions
Lovely model with great energy and you have a very nice soothing voice. Appreciated the video, thanks!

I don't like the barrel goes out could get dust in it
What camera body do you use with tamron 70-180mm in this video?
I’m pretty sure I was using my a7r iii
@@StewartMediaDigital Thank you.. I think this lens would be perfect combo paired with my a7r ii
@@StewartMediaDigital have you tried it with a6000?
First 30 seconds, and I know that Tamron payid you off
