Half-Life Alyx #shorts When you start to listen to what the zombies in Half-Life: Alyx have to say, not only is it terrifying, but it's also quite sad... the darker side of headcrabs...
Unlike most zombies in the video games these ones can actually feel pain and sort of talk but it’s not the zombies that follows the players it’s actually the head crabs since they got full control over the humans.
@@american-vw1bj it is quite tragic because they keep the human alive as they use their beak to dig into their victims skull to get to the brain to control the body’s structure which is why the zombies in half life have weirdly long fingers and other weird nonhuman features. All while the victim is alive and being forced to feel the torture.
The Flood are similar to the Headcrabs when it comes to keeping the host alive and the host feeling pain, but the difference is that host of a flood infection form is that they always feel pain nomatter what after all the flood do break your bones and reshape your body during the infection process
it is said on the lore that the Zombies are alive humans that are taken control by the headcrabs, apperantely they can still feel every single pain happening to them (they’re fingers growing, stomach opening up etc..) So next time you kill a zombie in half life just know your actually helping end someone’s misery lol
It really is heartbreaking when I had to watch them crying from the agonizing pain of being forced to do things against their own will, and yeah the transformation is definitely just as painful as they're forced to move their limbs and stuff.

The creature pretty much becomes their new heart/organs, & the person's body becomes dependant on them to keep living. It also controls most of the motor functions, having destroyed most of the original parts of the brain that usually handle that. But tragically, the parts of the brain for conscious thought, & partially for speech, remain partially intact... So that's why the victim is aware of what's happening. Even if the most meticulous surgery were to be done, trying to remove the parasite from the host, the person would still die, because the headcrab has sent roots & growth throughout their body & sabotaged their organs so they no longer can function without the crab attached. 😥
Picture this Imagine being jump scared to something that looks somewhat like a white pumpkin only for it to jump on your face and giving you around 1:30 seconds to think about what to do to get out of that situation. But sadly you did not think fast enough and now you are just a walking figure with a huge slit in your torso and your hands are just long fleshy discussing pieces of crap. And on the top of all of that, all you see is black and dark red, And now your only hope is to cry all for help with the only words you can say that come to your mind. But sadly it sounds like it is in reverse so now the only way you can have your lovely peace is *death*. That just gives me fucking chills
When u realised the alive zombie-human got little of his controll back. U can notice that when he is trying to get the head crab off his head by hitting them on the wall... Its just sad that they can feel all the pain... While when the Human dies the head crab still alive going in search for another prey. Like they dont deserve this.....
Yeah, but atleast if they die after removing the headcrab its actually a good thing, cuz they will die ending all the pain and suffering and go to a better place.
I mean they break open your skull to get to your nervous system to take control of you with you still alive. That doesn't sound like the most comfortable thing that can happen to you

half life has the best interpretation of zombies ever in my opinion. The host barely being in control really adds to the horror, hearing them scream and beg.
The only zombies sadder than these are the ones from stalker game series, they have an incredibly sad story with each still have awake and knowing what's going on while also day dreaming of their loved ones, what's even sadder one of the zombies can be heard saying M...Mom....when you finish them
All they can do is cry for death is just depressing living second and day with excrutiating pain knowing it will never end, never stop and cease Doing actions you dont want is just sad man....
But tragically, it's the only way to rescue them from the constant torture... 😥 Always go for headshots to shoot the creature off, the quickest way. For the barest instant, the victim is free, before they die from being disconnected from the captor they were forced to depend on... One blissful moment of liberty, then sleep... 😞

In other words, the headcrabs breathe for the human, filter & pump their blood, & signal them where to go. That's why they can't be separated without the host dying too. But the poor soul is still conscious during all this, to some degree... So shooting the headcrab itself might be the best thing to do. It cuts off the breathing & heartbeat, so the victim dies quickly, without being shot themselves. And for a brief instant, their consciousness is freed from the headcrab before they die. So they're at least aware that they're free now. That their suffering is over. So they can drift off to permanent sleep without their mind being invaded anymore.

If you remember Father Grigori from HL2, he says things such as "aim for the head" and "I will end your torment." Clearly he had some idea of how these creatures operated, and how the how the host was still very much aware of their surroundings, all he wanted to do by staying in Ravenholm was to free the people trapped as zombies from their hopeless existence by mercy-killing them. Imagine all of your friends and family being turned into dangerous, feral husks and you just being stuck with them, you would go crazy too.
I didn’t even think about how at this point in the transformation between headcrab and gonarch the human hasn’t entirely lost consciousness and is still fruitlessly fighting for control over their own body.
I still remember when i learned this, my way of seeing Ravenholm changed from something that is scary as heck to something really sad, everyone there is alive doing things they dont want to and feeling pain and cant do anything about it :c
Its too bad there’s no mechanic for removing the headcrabs (without killing the zombies) because there isn’t a way to do so. I think it’s just best to end their suffering rather than watching them suffer
