Congrats on the new to you ride! I haven't seen all of them yet but so far, you're the first expat that I've seen super excited to showcase buying a simple, practical, economical used car in the Philippines. Great choice! I've seen others covering their experience buying brand new Ford Rangers etc with all the bells and whistles etc there and I don't think that's a great idea but to each their own.. Stay humble! Stay safe! Keep the fun goin Sir!
I’m with you! I think that buying those large trucks is a super big mistake for so many reasons! I’m an automotive enthusiast and plan to do many more videos on the subject to keep my content fresh and I’m going to explain how big pickups are a mistake here for most people but especially for expats. As for my car, I love it so much and for even more reasons now that I’ve had it for a while. Humble is really a quality that I try to achieve at all times. There is nothing elite about me and I won’t pretend to be what I’m not. I’m happy with simple things and I think that’s why I feel so at home here. I find a lot of people are more like me here than back in the US when you’re judged on what you drive and where you live… God bless you always.
The US started the 'car craze' culture, and brother, you've definitely got the 'bug'! I do, too. I love my 6 speed manual Mazda 6, which sadly I won't be able to take to the Philippines, but my Beemer, my R11050RS sport-touring motorcycle, that is not getting left behind... I loved watching you fall in love with your new baby. The thing about a great car is what we are all about in the USA, (or we used to be, anyway): freedom! Having a reliable, fun car to tool around in is the definition of personal freedom, to go places, and have fun getting there! Yea, baby! I loved this video, like all your great videos, brother! God bless you and yours! Watched the 'they all died' video last night... Pray for things to turn around there, for sure...but if it doesn't, hey, you can still get in your cool ride, started it up, turn the music up, put it in gear, and drown your sorrows....with a smile on your face, and nowhere in particular to go, you're just cruising, and digging the ride! It's the journey, and not necessarily the destination. Rollin', rollin', rollin', keep them doggies rollin'. Yup. That's it, totally. God bless!
JB you’re absolutely correct! I am definitely a car guy and I’m trying to line up more cars to review and talk about in the future as well as filming some road trips. I love it here so much and have realized just how little I’ve seen because I can’t simply get in a car and go exploring. That’s always been a big part of my life and I feel like that’s available to me again. Thank you for sharing your car story and for all the kind words of support. Please feel free to share my videos on your social media to get them out to new people. I really do appreciate your encouragement. I’ll keep the videos coming my friend. God bless you always and I hope to hear from you again soon.
@@beekeepinginparadise5935 Great color car, easy to maintain, cooler inside during the summer months. A medium window tint helps too. I suggest 3M black magic tint. Not very dark even at night but offers great sun protection for the interior. Btw,,might also try letting the glue from that oakley sticker soak with WD40. If that doesn't do it. Paint polish. I'm not a fan of stickers my self. Oh yeah road trip!!! God bless my friend.
Thanks for the tips my friend. The sticker came off easily with no residue after I gave it a little squirt of WD-40. It just left an outline where the glass is bleached by uv rays over the years. Hopefully it will fade. Honestly I’ve never been a fan of white cars but it’s growing on me with this one. The windows are already tinted and I think they are really well done. No complaints! God bless you my friend! Bee well always.
When I moved here. In the US, the first car that I drove was a Geo Metro. Man, that little car is a fun one bit a little bit sketchy especially when a cross wind hits it or when you’re driving next to a semi. Driving in NY/NJ is a little bit challenging. The 2nd Gen Honda Jazz is my favorite in the Philippines. That car is amazing to drive, small yet powerful for its size.it is cavernous inside and it out do the civic by miles in terms of interior size. I plan to send my 2011 Civic Si in a few years from now. It has a standard tranny, and I like to control the gears especially goin up and down mountains. I think it’s very well suited driving from Manila to any part of Luzon particularly towards the Bicol area where you will travel along the most mountenoius areas of the biggest island.
That’s an awesome story Lusito! I have to agree with you about the metro. Fantastic car but on American highways at high speed they were a bit light and underpowered, but the rest of the time, no complaints at all! Your Hondas sound like good options for here for sure. Are you sure you want to ship a car here though? Especially a 2011? There are shipping costs, taxes, import fees and when you’re finished you still have a car that’s already over 12 years old. You might be better to sell it and use the money for something newer when you get here. There are so many incredible cars to choose from now. God bless you my friend. I hope to talk to you again soon. Bee well.
Thank you Fresh! I really appreciate the support and the positive comment! I totally love this little car too...as if you couldn't tell from the video. I'm so glad you're watching the videos. God bless you my friend. Bee well.
29:17 That's weird; the smaller (and older) F6 and K6 engines that the multicabs have were designed to run on regular fuel. We tried premium on ours for a time and the engines ran too hot. Pretty sure the multicabs would run fine on the green stuff...
Maayong gabii to you as well! I hope you’re enjoying the videos from your hometown. What barangay are you from? I live downtown but have farms in hibunawan and ciabu. I’m jealous that you’re from here, it’s absolutely heavenly here. God bless you always my friend. I hope to hear from you again soon.
Thank you so much. I’m really excited to be able to plan road trips again. Sorry about the late response on the emails. I spent 14 years in customer service selling and delivering steel coils via email and now that I’m not doing that anymore I sometimes get a bit lax on checking. I hope you’ll forgive me. God bless you my friend. Looking forward to meeting you soon.
Neil, you have a keen eye and really got me scared there for a minute. I read your comment and ran out to the garage to investigate. It’s actually not rust. I see how it could look that way though. It’s some dirt caught in a panel seam and it came off when I rubbed it with a wet cloth and got in the groove with my thumbnail. Thank you for being so observant! I’ll know to be more careful while detailing it to make sure I hit all those seams because I can see how that could be a potential weak spot for rust years down the road. God bless you my friend. I’m glad you’re watching carefully. I appreciate it. Bee well.
I agree completely! It would be a fun kid car in the US if they were available there but it might struggle on the highway cruising at 70mph. It’s too bad we don’t have cars like this over there anymore. Thanks for commenting. God bless.
@@beekeepinginparadise5935 the whole time at the house walking around the car. Some places it was stronger than others. Sounded like and electric motor whine. At about 29:00 is when it became unbearable.
Ohhh ok. Yeah it’s an electric water pump. I guess I’ve become numb to it. Thanks for pointing it out. I’ll be more careful when recording in the future. It’s hard to find a quiet place to film when living downtown here though. I appreciate the heads up. God bless you my friend.
Pia, as much as I hate to say it, I agree with you. I absolutely love this country, but the way people drive is nuts sometimes. I have to make sure I'm extra careful and extra courteous and extra defensive whenever I'm out on the roads. All that said, I really love driving and getting the chance to see new places and this car is going to give me a chance to do that. Forever grateful! God bless you my friend.
Absolutely correct…in the USA. Over there I don’t even get interested in a car or truck until it has that many miles, mostly because that’s when the price really drops. This car is too nice and so affordable that I broke my own rules. Can’t pass up a deal like this!
Is getting a blessing for a new car a regular thing, or is that just for the used ones? Maybe he should've done an exorcism!🤣 I should consider finding a priest. The way people drive around the metro Atlanta area I could use all the help I can get!
That’s hilarious Daza. Yes over here getting a blessing for your new or used car or motorcycle is a very common practice. I’ve driven through Atlanta many times over the years and I would totally recommend that you get AT LEAST a blessing down there. I’ll be praying for your safety too. God bless you my friend. Bee well.
Nice 1
Thank you my friend. Glad you approve. God bless you always.

Hey buddy. Glad you could make it to the show.
What is that whistling sound?
Steve, at what part of the video?
