2 things.... 1. What did the customer end up getting charged for that long of a ride? 2. One of my last rides when I was going back towards Alabama to where I live Sunday night was on the way. I was about 25 minutes away and I figured they would cancel and I would get paid a few bucks for being on the way. And maybe I'd grab another heading that way if they did. They canceled 8 minutes into me driving that way. So I checked and they tried to give me $0 for it. I complained to the system, and it replied back with sorry about that, here's $5.20 for your canceled trip... Cool. Check the payment and it was $3.64. So I contact the useless customer service chat and they said it was right. UBER had to take their service fee out and that's what I was supposed to get. I sent them the screenshot saying I was to be paid $5.20 and that's what they said again. Cool... I'll more than make up that $1.56 this weekend. I'll be coming Friday on new wheels to get my money.
You know we're gonna get our money! LOL! That's how we roll, brotha. We gon get what we're due, and we're not asking. I find it odd that they take SERVICE FEES out of everything that's due to us. That's why we do cash rides: to reduce service fees!
Ohhhh, they have done that to me, too, on SCHEDULED RIDES! They won't pay me the MINIMUM according to their own policy! They keep paying the change-masters to keep changing the drivers' pay expectations. I believe punitive damages include mental distress and frustration, as a punishment for MALICIOUS UNFAIR BUSINESS PRACTICES. I could be wrong, but I do know that "punitive" means "to punish." These apps owe drivers A LOT! What did drivers ever do to these app companies to deserve this kind of unfair business dealing? Drivers helped build their businesses and this is the thanks drivers get. F T C - F T C - FTC!! This organization has the POWER to get drivers JUSTICE!! ⚖️⚖️⚖️
Had this problem one time. The lady was crazy, in a wheelchair, smelled like piss. Took twenty minutes to get her into the car. Took her to a county home. She was on the phone for them minutes smoking cigarettes before I even got her near getting in the car. Then since I have a small car she had to sit up in the front passenger seat. Since it was the only way to fit her wheelchair and her baggage was to fold down the back seats. She was upset about that but there was no way to load her chair otherwise. Actually said the last driver hit on her and she was uncomfortable. I told her she didn’t have to worry about that from me. Took another twenty minutes to get her out of my car. She tried smoking more than once while sitting in my front seat. I made 8 dollars.
That's the shitt that would happen to me during the pandemic when there weren't any f****** drivers end of snow storm hell no I'm not going through that Whataburger
Typical customer service, $8 for 45mins? That's why you roll up on rides with the doors locked. If it don't look right dip and cancel. It's not worth dealing with customer service after the fact.
So damn true. After the fact, they got the money and they have the power. Convert that ride and put that money on Cashapp or Venmo, and now they wanna speak to you. We all after the same thing: making a living. I'm about to keep my shit off the apps, as much as possible.
I knew from the start of this video that Lyft support will be ZERO help. Anytime something happens on my Lyft trip, I just have to chalk it up as a loss because you have a better chance hitting the lotto than get help from their support. It is what it is, I’d just make it up converting the next 10 Lyft rides and hit em where it hurts. I swear their support is the easiest job in the world. Just chat and deny further help with cut and paste answers. I told them one time that Lyft should just cut their support since they hurting for cash. It’s seriously an unnecessary expense.
That's the play right there. I'm getting my money back for this night. They could've at least made it right and probably had me drive a few trips to help THEM out a little for being there for me. But now that I know 1,000% sure about how they are, chess match on 10...

Did a $11 airport run for 5 miles. She also needed to go to the bank (extra 5 miles) and asked if she should add a stop or just pay me cash. Cash please! I said “$20 ok?” And she said “I’ll give you $30!” That’s how we be converting out here. 300!
That's what I'm talking about, brotha! Protect our economy and protect our community. Talk back and forth and make the deals ON THE SPOT! They will hate that we are taking our power back, but they will have to deal with it. We are in a fight for our livelihood and we will not simply stand down and let them walk on us. Riders and drivers are uniting.
Oh…I get people all the time that try to add stops and I cancel them and tell them “sorry, this will take me out of my intended area I would be in when I accepted the initial ride. It’s best to check with your driver before you add stops to avoid being stuck at your first destination for a prolonged period. We’re not require to accept all stops.” Also, remember when dealing with customer service it’s an AI chatbot you’re chatting with and not an actual person. AI chatbots don’t have feelings or care how we feel (that’s how much these apps care about us that we can’t even communicate with an actual person)
That's when you make a recorded screenshot in the chat box and tell the a.i. "You're fired." Someone else then jumps in on the chat and says something to the effect of, "Hi (driver's name), I'm taking over this issue now." But then they don't even identify their selves, so the driver still doesn't know if they're getting real customer service by a human that uses real logical thinking to be able to fix ANY issue. By the time the driver gets to this point in attempting to get real customer service, it's usually too late, and driver has every right to tell tech support, "It's too late. Y'all failed the driver... again."
That's happened to me destination change. Don't start the trip...be professional and say no. They do that because it's cheaper for tge rider to change destination. Apps should not allow for destination changes. Yes they are....I went to a pick up and girl handed me a box to deliver. I said " no, I don't do that: canceled the trip and left
The behavioral scientists on-staff with these companies know that you might be hesistant to remove people from your vehicle after starting a trip and unacceptable changes are made to the original contract you agreed to... This is usually the Most Dangerous Moment in ridehare --- saying 'No' to a paying customer... I don't get abused, but I do tread lightly here and try to compromise... everybody's different and two people can interpret the same situation two completly different ways...
I have complained my frustrations to Lyft about passenger changing the destination that took the ride almost twice the distance with extra time and they only paid me some $1.50 extra, this is their response "We understand why you feel that way. Its best to let your rider request a new ride instead if they want to add or change "there" (bad spelling) destination". They're telling me to kick them to the curb.
I thought that was going to happen. As a independent contractor we can accept or cancel at anytime. Lyft/uber only wants money they dont care and they will continue to have her on platform and long as they are making money. ( it is what it is) all we can do is rate them 3 or below so we wont have them in our pictular car again
Yup. You're 100% right and I wanna show folks how RIGHT you are. We can cancel whenever, and I wanna start documenting (as I have already) the retaliation these apps will do when we cancel rides that are not what we signed up for when we hit ACCEPT. They should be held liable for Antitrust violations thru coercion. They force drivers to take rides by saying, "...your account will be suspended for canceling too often", but they don't know WHY the driver is even canceling! That is coercion and retaliation. If we don't cancel, shit like what I went thru will happen! Drivers are out here getting played!
Yup. They can't do that! Independent contractor rights! They can be fined for it by the state, and someone should contact the Attorney General about it.
It's the Black Hole Merry-Go-Round of so-called support --- round and round we go, where it stops nobody knows --- until you give up and jump off before you lose even more money... "I'm so sorry this happened to you..." ~Prabu
I had a situation like that last year, had a baby momma schedule a trip for her dead beat dude, had the trip heading to the airport area,as I am driving there to pick up,they changed it(same fare distance) I couldn’t see where it was going,so I pick up the dude, and I swipe it going completely opposite direction in to the boon docks and traffic. I cancel told him to get out,you guys know what you doing cause most drivers are gonna go that way on rush hour. Almost got in to a fight with the dude in front of a parked police car. Fuck them petty shit
As soon as they change the ride I agreed to, I tell them I'm only going to the agreed upon destination but they can cancel the ride and get another driver to take them to the new location...💯
@@MicDropBBQ I've done that before. Made the offer to just keep the contract as is and they were mostly grateful and said please and apologized for being an airhead and even gave me extra for gas. Gotta stand your ground and not be taken advantage of, but it still happens to us. When the apps crash, as they sometimes do, we have to be on good terms with most of the public. There will come a time when no one will care about these apps and everybody will be love one another again. Until then, we have to endure. 🤪
And that's why Uber is throwing money at everything out there, to see what sticks. They are going driverless and using Turo rentals and Waymo/BYD cars to not allow drivers to take our industry back from tech. They're too late. Riders already know the game.
I have cancelled rides that were double rides and they took over 5 minutes, also i have called support to have them par a pictular rider from my vehical.( i forgot to rate them)
I'm gonna be on my rampage the next time I turn Lyft on. I'm canceling and sending them screenshots of their own messages when they try to suspend me. Basically telling us WE CONTROL our own failures by not canceling. So, I got the assignment in message format, for all to see. Now we know: cancel at will, and if they retaliate and suspend the driver, DOCUMENT IT. This will all be for antitrust violations, and they'll settle just so Tony West gets a cut of the money.
Yesterday I picked up a passenger from the airport and dropped her off, keep in mind I always have my destination mode already set to return to the airport (I have destination mode on for the airport when I'm in the airport que) anyways before I dropped off my airport passenger I got a ride request 16.9 miles away and the ride was only 3.4 and I canceled it, right away got another request 15 miles away and rider was only going 4 miles! I didn't screenshot or remember the costs of each ride request. So I logged off and went home! This is the kind of garbage uber would do to me!

@@timothythompson8165 That reminds me of a time at LAS I was doing back to back reservation rides from Strip to AP. Each ride was $20+. After my last dropoff at T1, and destination set for home going East, the give me a request to go 20 miles West for pickup to bring back to airport for $14. I accepted the ride, can only go out of terminal one way East, so right when I got to the West exit I hit cancel "not worth it!" How else do you teach tech support to pay attention to your preferences and destination modes if they're going to micromanage your trips and not let you set your own fare prices?
I would've did the same thing: Accept...cancel. The algorithm is a game to these engineers. They're making bets on who will do the dumbest ride of the day.
I took a $30 Lyft extra comfort ride other day, pickup and ride was suppose to be 19 min 11.19 miles total, ended up being 1hr 19 min 22.01 miles, it was a concert ride and they had certain roads blocked off, so pickup added probably an extra 6 or 7 miles and drop off was maybe extra 3, majority of that hour 19 mins was waiting in line to hit arrive too, Lyft ended up giving me $75 plus I got $21 tip. $96 total for a 24 min 12.79 mile ride after I hit arrive and customer got into my car lol. Passenger paid $102 total for ride, I wish I could figure out Lyft’s method to the madness on these rides so I could take advantage of more of these 😂. So is it better to wait longer at concerts, instead of having passengers walk to you, I know uber doesn’t pay you more like this for waiting before you get to pickup spot.

Exactly. We aren't Uber DAYCARE. I would never put my kids in some grown stranger's car, ever. As many parents as I know, I would call a FRIEND of mine or I would just go myself. But we aren't responsible for other folks' children like that. We're complete strangers to these kids and these parents got them feeling a little too comfortable hopping in our cars like that. I've picked up kids before in the middle the night after the movies - and the oldest couldn't have been past 12yrs old. The fck they doing out at the movies with NO PARENT at that time??? They only lived like 2 miles from the movie and the mom was either at work or at home and not wanting to drive because she was messaging me. I had it on Black SUV so I got paid nicely for that ride. They're lucky I'm a dad and I was willing to put my feelings about it aside. I would never have my son hopping in a stranger's car in the middle of the damn night...period. Facts. If they change the ride, we need to know MORE INFORMATION. They could change to a city 80 miles away for all we know, and we might not have time to drove 160 miles because we have kids or other stuff going on. We can't just say, "..well, gotta do it because you entered it into the system." No. Talk to the drivers to make sure it's ok...or cancel the ride and get another driver. They dont control us with the tech. We are the drivers and we can counter-offer or negotiate anything we choose to, or just CANCEL and move on.
I wonder if the state of AZ pays for Uber/Lyft rides for disabled persons as the state of IL sometimes does for people on medicaid. IF so then this person may have been committing an actual criminal act by using you that way. Using state funding for their monetary gain. The question is do you want to open up a potential Pandoras box IF you were to complain about this to the authorities. 98% chance they do noting... but if they don't then an investigation would be a full colonoscopy. Know what I'm saying, they'll look into everything? Consider what transactions might go on at either end of an Uber/Lyft ride? Who knows what stuff is in those suitcases or bags or what they are on their way to do. How responsible are we for that?
Yup. Even trying to contact Lyft, you see they don't care. Politicians and execs out here playing citizens like fools...got us using OUR cars to make sure THEY get rich off of us. That era is coming to a close. We standing up and letting the community know the game. We own these cars. We let the market determine how much we should be paid. We ain't waiting on Uber or Lyft to pay us fair for what we're getting into. Decline and cancel everything and let the rider and driver discuss their options. That's the only way.
I strike daily. If you look at my videos, you see weeks where I make ZERO money on the apps. I show it on my videos all the time. I've been striking. I've been doing private rides. You guys gotta catch up to ME! hahahaha
Yup. And for these apps to realize that, they're partially to blame for it. There should be something in the apps that say "...if you do not own a car, you cannot use a rideshare driver for GIG-RELATED rides that pay you, while you're paying the driver." The fact that someone can take $100 delivery order and call a Lyft driver and pay that driver $7 to deliver it in their car - that's a scam. They out here getting tips and money and they don't even OWN a vehicle to do the gig work in! She said she signed up as a BIKE for Uber Eats and they allowed it. These apps don't be checking shit!
Oh, they will try it!! Instead of a Uhaul, they use rideshare! I don't do it. That's more of a private negotiation if they wanna do something like that. Not moving someone for $14 when they paid the app nearly $40. I'll do it for a fair price based on my time and everything else. We're not movers. We're doing rides...that's it.
I was thinking about what you said I believe that lady in a wheelchair did it on purpose and she wanted you to kicked her out especially in front of a customer so the customer can see and feel sorry for her and he or she will tip the lady in a wheelchair
Yup. She probably does this all the time and gets kicked out of cars - and then someone feels sorry for her and pays for her to get a ride or just gives her cash. I mean, if a lady in a wheelchair showed up at my house trying to deliver food an was just sitting there in a wheelchair for 20mins, I'd go outside to see what the deal was. She's hustling.
The same thing happened to me the rider didn't even have legs i really feel sorry for the guy so i didn't cancel when I contacted Lyft they told me they would compensate me with 10 bucks for the inconvenience i told them to put there 10 bucks in their rear end
First of all, the passenger should have put themselves in your vehicle. You should never physically lift a passenger from their wheelchair into your vehicle. You are putting yourself at risk of injuring yourself or the passenger. This situation can cause a driver to fall liable for injury if the passenger would have accidentally been dropped. The lady should have requested a wheelchair accessible vehicle knowing she was unable to stand. There are transportation services that offer wheelchair accessible accommodations. Secondly, she continues to do what she is doing because she is taking advantage of people feeling sorry for her condition that she is in a wheelchair. Inquiring minds wants to know did she even tip you?
Facts. This should have been an NEMT ride, not a Lyft ride. This was a medical transport, 100%! And the fact that she couldn't walk and had to rely on being lifted UP into the vehicle, her arms could've given out and she would've fell straight to the ground under me. Just all bad...all bad. And to this day, NO TIP on that ride.
$6.62 for a 1.5 mile ride past the stadium...7 quick minutes. Was like getting $70/hr rate while I was waiting for the concert to let out. Yeah, that shit backfired BAD the moment I saw that wheelchair tucked behind a parked car on the side of the street. This was the case of a lying rider scheming the system. 10 out of 10 times, I'd take this ride, as the rate is even better than 99% of the Black rides out there. We don't often get $5/mile on Black. We get just under $3/mile sometimes. Wasn't a bad rate, but the situation was pure bullshit.
Brotha, if this was a person that could walk, I would've told em to get out. Have you ever had to lift somebody with ZERO leg muscle/ability out of a wheelchair and into a raised vehicle? Yeah...me neither. LOL! I was literally thinking of how to get this person OUT of my vehicle and back into that wheelchair the whole time.

And tell them you expect to be unsuspended immediately or this incident will be documented for legal purposes. Even their TOS says we don't need a REASON to accept or cancel. Hey, called support to complain about tip baiting. They said tips are optional, at the discretion of the customer. Those delivery fees and service fees aren't at the discretion of the customer? Hmmm wonder why! Restaurants require gratuity because they know ungrateful customers are bad for business.
I honestly think some of those "optional tips" are where customers left a tip - but an employee at the app removed the tip and claimed the customer rescinded the tip. I'm telling you; I dont trust these people, brotha. I know they have sketchy ass criminals working for them because that's their corporate culture. They wanna blame a customer for removing a tip and I bet MORE TIMES THAN NOT, the app employee stole that tip.
Hey, Jeff, tip baiting is also changing the terms of the contract, but after you complete your end of the bargain, based on the terms they sent you. The customer should be allowed to increase, not decrease. And should start out with their minimum. But to dangle their maximum out there and then yank it away afyer the deal is completed is unfair, and voids the contract, right? I believe punitive damages include mental distress and frustration, as a punishment for MALICIOUS UNFAIR BUSINESS PRACTICES. I could be wrong, but I do know that "punitive" means "to punish."
These apps owe drivers A LOT! What did drivers ever do to these app companies to deserve this kind of unfair business dealing? Drivers helped build their businesses and this is the thanks drivers get.

🤣😅😆😅 Another driver hit on her, sitting there smoking talking about, "...tell em LARGE MARGE SENT YA!"
Sounds like you were dealing with a mental health situation. Your patience is a virtue! 😇

💯 facts that’s why I don’t care about this raggedy apps

Bingo! 💯🙌🇺🇸
Did a $11 airport run for 5 miles. She also needed to go to the bank (extra 5 miles) and asked if she should add a stop or just pay me cash. Cash please! I said “$20 ok?” And she said “I’ll give you $30!”
That’s how we be converting out here.
We’re not require to accept all stops.”
Also, remember when dealing with customer service it’s an AI chatbot you’re chatting with and not an actual person.
Nahh, I cancel all the BS. I plan my day to be able to finish near my home. Not to drive all over the world lace and end in a different state.
I think the only reason you was really nice was because they were disabled. Other than that i know you would've kicked they ass out jeff! 🤦🏿🤷🏿😂😂
When having discussions with clients i always say that lyft is 10 times worse than uber, and that's saying ALOT 😂
They're removed it from our country if we add more laws to help us. Because then they won't make jack! 😂😂😂
Bro Lyft is been deactivating drivers left and right in Vegas
They also get locked out for 24 hours for rejecting rides !!!
That’s bullshit!!!
Yup. They can't do that! Independent contractor rights! They can be fined for it by the state, and someone should contact the Attorney General about it.

Yup. CANCEL! I would've did the same. Especially if they can walk and ain't handicapped, they're gonna end up being kicked out from the get go. hahaha
As soon as they change the ride I agreed to, I tell them I'm only going to the agreed upon destination but they can cancel the ride and get another driver to take them to the new location...💯
Smart play!! That's what I would do!
All these apps have customer service from countries with bare foot street walkers.😂😂😂
I have cancelled rides that were double rides and they took over 5 minutes, also i have called support to have them par a pictular rider from my vehical.( i forgot to rate them)

Basically telling us WE CONTROL our own failures by not canceling. So, I got the assignment in message format, for all to see.
They're looking for suckers out there. That's how we end up getting played: taking the shit and making them think we're desperate enough to do it. These pigeons out there need to stop taking these rides!
They don't care at all! So i don't care either.. Im cancelling and converting as much as i can
I took a $30 Lyft extra comfort ride other day, pickup and ride was suppose to be 19 min 11.19 miles total, ended up being 1hr 19 min 22.01 miles, it was a concert ride and they had certain roads blocked off, so pickup added probably an extra 6 or 7 miles and drop off was maybe extra 3, majority of that hour 19 mins was waiting in line to hit arrive too, Lyft ended up giving me $75 plus I got $21 tip.
Damn. They had you waiting that long to hit ARRIVE? Usually the app will boot you and line them up with another driver. You got lucky on that one!

No. Talk to the drivers to make sure it's ok...or cancel the ride and get another driver. They dont control us with the tech. We are the drivers and we can counter-offer or negotiate anything we choose to, or just CANCEL and move on.
💯, the apps don't care.
Yup. And for these apps to realize that, they're partially to blame for it. There should be something in the apps that say "...if you do not own a car, you cannot use a rideshare driver for GIG-RELATED rides that pay you, while you're paying the driver." The fact that someone can take $100 delivery order and call a Lyft driver and pay that driver $7 to deliver it in their car - that's a scam. hahahahahaha! $10 in their rear end!

I honestly think some of those "optional tips" are where customers left a tip - but an employee at the app removed the tip and claimed the customer rescinded the tip. I'm telling you; I dont trust these people, brotha. I know they have sketchy ass criminals working for them because that's their corporate culture.
