This was kind of just a giant experiment. I’m loving all the suggestions on how I can improve it for next time!
Have you made a video on all europe countries battle royale?
Nerf whioming, they are too op.
Even if it is chosen never put New York and New Jersey in an alliance together
Small question: what are you using for the map drawings?
Why isn't there a revolution option. 2nd Texas revolution
My only issue with this, is that there should have been a ran domizer to decide who won the war, intead of just assuming the first side won.
That or how the war has ended, kinda like a spectrum between one winning it all and another winning it all (so like A wins all > A wins a lot/buffer state > A wins a bit > stalemate > B wins a bit > B wins a lot > B wins all)
And maybe the size of your faction changes the odds, so factions aren’t just liabilities
@@romanmorozov6974 I agree
@@romanmorozov6974 he should probably use an Random Number Generator
@@romanmorozov6974 So,
1 = Defender(s) wins all
2 = Defender(s) wins a lot
3 = Defender(s) wins a bit
4 = Stalemate
5 = Offender(s) wins a bit
6 = Offender(s) wins a lot
7 = Offender(s) wins all
Whenever there's a battle between states you should flip a coin whether they succeed or not
Agree. Just because you attack, doesn’t mean you win. Vermont beating half of the US?
@@choreomaniac i think it had to do with dragging in their alliance to conquer territory, which goes well for the Vermont example but not some others.
Drew improves on war in later videos, but afaik for this video, the “war” option is better represented as “conquest”
I agree
GA needs to Succeed AGAIN!!!
Yes and a small state taking an entire connected multistage alliance. Should be a pretty one sided battle with alliance help. Different ideologies should also have provided bonuses in war or resistance against alliance pressures.
I feel like when a single state invades an alliance of two the alliance should win because more states, makes more sense and also gives the alliance more meaning, maybe you can make a similar video for the whole world.
Edit: a lot of people have talked about population and other factors which is absolutely true but that makes the game too complex, i talked about the alliance system because it just felt like a useless system and even a liability at times
I was thinking that exact same thing. I want this with the countries of the world.
Not nesecarilly. I feel New York would be able to take on most of New England because there is simply more people in New York
@@mrdemon6120 I agree with you but it makes the game a bit complicated then, it's alot upto the persons interpretation rather than on chance
No that doesn’t really make sense… It should be based on population, natural resources (some states produce things others can’t), and relationships with other states. Amount of current enlisted soldiers is also a reasonable factor as well as weapons in the state and the amount of funding that state has. Just because there’s two states against one certainly doesn’t mean they’d win.
Several states r very small. The city of seattle has a higher population than the entire state of wyoming
I love how Washington only played once while seeing their own ally get murdered but still survived till the end
This weirdly represents Washington in general
Can confirm. The state is to divided against itself to even do anything -Washingtonian

Same lol, Washington was just chilling, I'm also from Washington
As a Nevadan, I am proud of completing our, and everyone else's mission,
Taking out California.
And as a bonus you get all of Lake Tahoe!
what you say
I stopped watching when Nevada took over Cali. Cuz in real life it would be impossible lmao
War.. war never changes
In reality you'd only have to go from L.A. CA to the Bay Area,after the Bay Area we are red counties.
Some improvement suggestions:
- Roll ideologies first. Use Millennium Dawn ideologies.
- When forming an alliance, roll 1d4. The alliance only succeeds if the result is 3+, 2+ for same ideology.
- States are merged upon forming an alliance, getting a new name (faction name, influenced by ideology, geography, etc. or just smth fun)
- War only allows the attacker to take land equal to 50% of their current size + and any "core land" that was stolen from them.

My state justs Netflix and chills
I mean we 90% stoners here :D LOL
Kinda what Wisconsin did except they didn't join an alliance until after most of the killing had happened
pretty much sums us up entirely
Your not wrong
3 changes for next time: Bigger allies automatically win the war, different ideologies nullify the alliance and matching ideologies nullify the war.
Like rock paper scissors
I would also suggest that an alliance after an ideology makes the ideologies match.
Why would different ideologies nullify the alliance? In WWII, the US and the soviet union were alliances even though they had different idologies.

What's the point of having alliances if they don't prevent members from attacking each other or bolster members in combat? That aspect, in this game, seems entirely irrelevant.
Yeah, and on top of that, ideologies should prevent alliances
@@Toastmaster_5000 He makes these various categories but they have no effect on alliances or combat. They're essentially just cosmetic without having any effects on game play. So it's like what's the point.

I know Drew probably will never see this, but I just gotta say it.
This video led me to spend hours upon hours with this idea and evolving it. This video was a week old when I first started, and my first version was basically this with a couple small things added. Since then I've added military scores, town building, natural disasters, resources, and much more. The turns started taking so long with all the spinners and equations that I made a small script that gives all the results at once, I just need to change the map each turn.
I have spent countless hours working with this simple concept Drew made and I have had so much fun every time. Thanks, Drew. I'm really glad you made this video.
when you're finished could you make a vid on it or smth?

Your friendly, neighborhood Arkansas History teacher here with a brief lesson no one asked for:
1. As I’m sure people have already pointed out, the abbreviation for Arkansas is AR (common mistake, we’re not really offended by it)
2. Arkansas was once a part of the Missouri Territory (pre-statehood), so the Arkansas/Missouri conglomerate is somewhat historically precedented… 🤔
As a MO resident, I vote we honor our new alliance with the official statehood of "Ozark"
@@morgangreen5700 As a Little Rocker, I support this.
As a MO citizen it sucks here
@@morgangreen5700 We already have an Ozark, AR. We're good down here with the actual Ozark Mountains. I love KC, but MO is just too damn flat to be trying to call themselves part of the Ozarks. Sorry, it's just a really special place in the world that most people don't know about and I'd like to keep it that way.
Or are you just trying to get in on our diamond mine in Murfreesboro?! I see what you're trying to do MO. Watching you now. Hahaha!
This comment is all in good faith and I will die on the hill of KC BBQ being the best in the world. Just thinking about Joe's BBQ makes me have some impure thoughts. Hahaha!
I don't mind that people misinterpret the abbreviation for Arkansas as AK until you're trying to get something delivered and it literally goes across another country thousands of miles away and you have to wait another week for your package to be delivered. That's my only complaint about the abbreviation mixup.

I find it funny that Washington made one alliance in the beginning and once Missouri got eliminated, Washington was just so quiet! And no one bothered them. They were just… there 😂
Why does it feel so accurate that Wisconsin would be involved in one single fight and then be like "nah, lets go drink beer and watch everyone else kill eachother" 😂, ends up the only green state that everyone else just kind of shrugs at, much like our sports teams.

Solution to fix alliances: Introduce a chance concept that would give a smaller alliance (or single state) less odds to beat more states. If one state is attacking 3 states, then make the odds of them winning: total number of states attacking/total states fighting which would give the one state a 1 in 4 chance of winning. This would give a massive alliance a higher chance of winning because the odds are simply in their favor and it works because you stated that all states are equal in the beginning of the video.
Edit: Also for the chance concept, use a random number generator with numbers 1-100 and if we use the pervious example of 1 vs. 3, then any number between 1 and 25 would give the victory to the small state.

Yo, I know this is pretty old, but I played this myself recently and thought I'd make up some rules for the next time I do this, so I'd like to share it with you guys:
USA BATTLE SIMULATOR 2 RULES:
Ideology:
- 3 states are chosen randomly to adopt communism, fascism, or monarchy into their ideology.
- The ideology place on the wheel is now replaced with 'spread'.
- There is a 10% chance of it spreading to another randomly selected state (how you decide the 10% chance is up to you, ex. 10 sided die or coin flip)
- If the state is chosen, then the other state with the ideology immediately have an alliance.
- There can only be three of each ideology (other than the default; democracy).
- After the three are chosen then the spread place on the wheel is removed.
Alliances:
- If 'alliance' is chosen on the wheel, then two states are randomly chosen to have an alliance.
- The states in the alliance CANNOT declare war on eachother.
- If two states are chosen and have different ideologies, then a reroll shall happen.
- In the event of two states from different alliances getting chosen, a die roll of 10 sides will happen:
- If the roll is 1-4, then state #1 will leave their alliance for the state #2's, 6-10 is vice versa, and 5 is a re-roll.
- You can choose to split up a territory that as been conquered with other close members of an alliance.
War:
- If 'war' is chosen on the wheel, then 1 state is randomly chosen to go to war with another state.
- The state attacks in a random direction that a randomly spinning arrow chooses.
- How a war is settled is based on a best 2 out of 3 competition of a coin flip, an example would be Colorado (heads) and Utah (tails). If Colorado gets heads twice and Utah gets tails once, then Colorado wins the war and takes the land.
- An alliance cannot go to war, as previously mentioned.
Extra Rule:
- The last state who hasn't done anything will be taken over and it's land will be shared by its neighboring states
I hope you enjoy these rules, and if you see this drew, maybe you can try it out too 😉
