Eggscellent round engine rampage. My first introduction to Stearman was when I hung around a cropdusting outfit in southern NJ who used a 450 P&W clipped-wing Stearman. Love em to death.
I would rather watch this Stearman, than any Extra, Edge, MXR, Gamebird or Giles any day of the week. Those other birds are awesome, but slow, graceful and smooth lines are my thing. Great Video.
The prop tips are going supersonic which creates shockwaves. That creates this loud buzzing noise as a result which is almost as loud as a fighter jet in afterburner
In total my uncle owns 7 (he runs a foundation that gives veterans free rides in them) and I swear they are the best aircraft ever invented! If they didn’t exist we wouldn’t have been able to train WWlll pilots
No snap rolls ,no tumbles and all the better for it in my opinion. I'm sure a lot of pilots watching appreciated the slow rolls. I think there was a crosswind to deal with too. The aeroplane was shown beautifully. Many in England will remember John Jordan's Stearman.
While the Super Stearman certaainly makes for a great looking showplane, she's just not suited for this kind of airwork. A Pitts, or a Christen Eagle, she is not. Interesting how differently an airplane will fly just by changing a few numbers around.

Susan Dacy has been the primary pilot of big red. Dave Dacy flys a blue and white Stearman with a wingwalker.

Ótimo vídeo!! Lindíssimo Super Stearman e belas manobras. O som do motor radial é uma sinfonia. 👍
