My defination of Atmanirbhar Bharat in defense: Design ur own system, Test it rigourously, Incorporate user feedback and produce it numbers. Not L&T K-9 Vajra, Kalyani M-4,Adani Hermes 900, Mahindra M777 etc. where OEM is someone and we just assemble it. Let us not fool ourself. We need products that are designed by DRDO or Indian players.
Also, make sure the program is not destroyed by foreign players
@@ganeshgopan59 It's the MoD and Armed Forces call. We as civilians can't do anything nor does our voices matter to them. They do care a bit now bcoz of social media spread. But they can't hide the fact they love foreign systems more. They show zero confidence in real indigenous systems like Rustom MALE UAV, ATAGS and SSS Defense small arms. They never give a chance to Indian players. It's really frustrating to see how their hard work and effort is going down the drain. It should have been 464 Arjun MBT instead of Russian T-90's and 1540 ATAGS not 307. Endless trials for Indian systems. God knows when will we learn.2020 India-China standoff, 2021 Russia-Ukraine conflict, 2023 Isreal-Hamas conflict. If we can't learn from these conflict only God can save us. MRFA and MTA are again where we are moving in wrong direction. These can be done indigenously. We don't want to take a risk (for MTA) or what that only our IAS Babu's know. They are the worst in MoD.
@patriotboy2636 It's all thanks to Alpha Defense, especially Subodh Bhai and Saurav Jha Sir. When I first started following defense, I was fascinated with JV things. I hated DRDO the most. But with time, I got to know that whatever we have achieved in the defense sector is mostly because of DRDO. An organization, despite harsh criticism and miniscule funding, achieved something no one could have done, nor no one would have imagined (Hope somebody in the defense community can release a white paper on it). R&D involves risk and failure. If we can't accept failure and take knee-jerk actions, then Bharat can never be a Vishwaguru.

This is a great approach! Although swarm drones are not completely unique to us but by investing in a tech that doesn't hold large share of defense market today but will in future, not only we get early movers advantage but also avoid industrial and political sabotage from bigger military industrial complexes!
Self-reliant is good. If our products are more than 60% indigenous, we can say it is okay.
Self-reliant means designing, prototype and manufacturing in India. It should not stop because one of our component is proven.
It’s funny you mentioned those private firms being true symbols of Atmanirbharta. Whereas, the PSU Tejas has an American engine, Israeli radar and a British ejection seat with a French assisted design.
But you’ll never call them out.
P.S. Don’t talk about paper concepts like Kaveri engine for Tejas, Uttam Radar and indigenous ejection seat. I’ll believe when we see them..
Regarding indigenization, the components of drones still come from china (the flight controllers, communication & gps modules etc) Afterall it's the same IC problem
@@thezoldics7648 It's just not possible or feasible. They have a much more robust supply chain than us. Just go out and try to buy electronic components for a project and you will see.
Lol by your logic brahmos components will be Chinese if you don't know semiconductor is manufactured in limited qty for defence and aerospace purpose by India or acquired from Taiwan Israel or usa etc

How to defend against enemy's drone systems is more important.
Laser , microwave related defence systems which can neutralize enemy drones should be top priority.

Regarding SPV of AMCA or TEDBF project.
HAL and TATA is busy for 8-10 years. Adding a hanger for AMCA means additional funding from Govt.
Reliance will be occupied if MRFA is completed.
Adani, Govt will not give campaign to Pappu.
Now only Mahindra and L & T left.
We should make amalgamation of manufacturers.
Why not test these drones in millitancy infected regions,to minimize casualties,I know govt is going to get backlash from opposition parties ,but it's is minimum cost to pay to reduce our army casualties.
