I am a cinematographer and we use consumer drones all the time. Their statements were quite misleading. I know more than 5 FPV Pilots from within my city, and they all brought components and built the drones themselves. You technically can get 1000+ videos to make these drone yourself, the motors the flight controller and controller are all opensource and can be bought separately, these people are just assembly which we can do it ourself..
He was talking about DJI drone specifically, which again is not completely banned in India...just has some import restrictions. All other DJI products like gimbal, Action Cameras, Mic etc are sold freely.
They lied about all the facts related to these drones plus they are selling drones at twice the cost of other sellers(yes there are many other sellers).Anyone can assemble these drones after watching youtube videos and these parts are imported from china so these are basically chinese drones.
This is the impact of policy change.... Govt allowed military drones but banned the consumer and agriculture drones .. So this kinda startups will emerge and as the industry will grow, we can also built an ability to make military drones with best quality...
