Good to see the blue board analysis.....but i think one more type of self propelled howitzer was missed and that was wheeled self loading like L52 Elbit Systems, Archer, Rhino G6, Dana M1
If I am not wrong, more of an increase in the chamber capacity of Cal 39, 45 and 52, which gives the higher range by increasing the charge to be used, and barrel length also increases.

Objectively speaking the current artillery that Indian army has is almost all junk. And yet the army shows no urgency in new guns procurement. Just few hundred orders here and few hundred there.
By latest interview former Army chief Mr Narvane has stressed importance of mounted artillery gun as compared to TSGs.
fmr army chief narvane has said we need to move away from tgs to MGS. AFAIK the requirement is of 4000 and practically we need 50% of them should be MGS

one question to alpha defence, what are the issues if army uses mounted gun system or k9 bajra type guns instead using towed guns? because you can change your position quickly.
Those guns are heavy and cannot be taken to mountains
The roads will collapse due to weight and you will see guns rolling down 100s of feet
Will there be any project on mobile gun system like M1128 striker

105 mm ifg will.not be completely removed. Mgs will also be of 2 type. 105 and 155 mm. 120mm mortar on mounted platform. Is another additoom but may.not be rt

Main to ye chahta hun ki even DRDO ATAGS..Kalyani group ki Bharat 52..Marg Er ..aur even Adani Elbit group ki Athos tot k sath India mein manufacture ho...faster induction k liye...thoda cost jada ayegi..pr defence ecosystem boht strong ho jayega...
I cannot understand why we buy towed gun when we can buy mounted guns with great mobility?
India also have 40 numbers of Arjun 130 mm self propelled howitzer in service.

@@ashaykholkar2095I find that to be untrue, 300 guns is a token order and Bharat Forge and Tata wpuld have never accepted to be part of the program for such a small order size

Extremely important, production of shells, rockets, missiles and other ammo can make the difference between winning and losing a long war of attrition.

How big is our artillery stockpile is because Russian fired 24+ millions shells in 18 months and most casualties and 90% casualties Ukrainian war and what stockpile against china and Pakistan and how many days our artillery stockpile well last and production rate
Exact information will never be out in public. CAG usually states in audit about the situation of stock. I remember reading a report almost a decade back that artillery stock will only last for about 17-21 days incase of full blown war. Things have improved after that otherwise they would have published another findings.

Russia is firing 50 to 60,000 shells 🐚 of 155 mm artillery daily. The total strength of the Ukraine army is 4 to 5 lakhs.
This means they fire 100s of rounds and still no significant casualty. So, what is the use of expensive artillery?
Even if 10 shells are for 1 soldier, war should have ended in 100 days. But war continued...this means shells are not efficient at all, and these people are wasting their ammo.
