Norman was a class act, he had so much bad luck at times and he'd always respond with a "I'll get it next time". I don't think he ever broke a club or cussed out loud from a bad shot, just took it on the chin and moved on.
I watched a documentary on this recently. It seems there were a number of things that happened to Greg off the course, the afternoon and evening before that put him off his game.
@@irishgolftimes Norman collapsed in the third round 1990 Open at St Andrews going round high when everybody else was going round low. The cut mark was under par.
@@tylercarandtruckcenter I vaguely remember reading an article on Golf World magazine in 1996 about the incident before the final round, but I vividly remember observing the photo of a upset Greg Norman. He looked so shattering and melting, unfortunately. I think his throat got punched before starting his final round.
Every golfer who beat Norman at the masters should get the Medal of Honor knowing what we know about Norman now it at least spared the world of dealing with his jackassery lectures and LIV stunts at the masters champions dinner
When it was going horribly wrong for Norman, i.e. collapsing in the final round of a major he appeared to suddenly age 20 years. More over par than Faldo was under par in the final round of the masters in 1996 is humiliating.
It wasn’t his last close call at Augusta, he finished second in 1999, also they both birdied the 13th.
The video mentioned that they both birdied 13 and 15
the commentary is off they show the 13th whilst talking about the 12th,

Norman indeed had talent, but he didn't display it often enough in big moments.

Yes, the thoughts of playing with Faldo made his head fuzzy 😂

Someone punched him before starting the final round. Maybe this brought a major psychological impact on his game.
@@thetruthsetsyoufree1492 I missed this story, do you have a link on the story or know who?

With what has happened in 25 years, I'm happy he didn't win.

Slow player defeated fast player.
In other words Greg can't beat faldo's slowplay.
Maybe he tied his shoelaces too tight that day.
He choked in tournaments throughout his career

I was there watching him warm up on Sunday. I told him he sucked and the rest is history.
