Yes! Although I knew lots of OMD songs I didn't ever really listen to them consciously. But this is a perfect 80s sound. The simple riffs have been in my head for a week now. Finding historic gold is always immensely satisfying.
Kids nowadays would never believe we had a ball in the 70s and 80s listening to great music like this, punk and new wave and synth music, we were fortunate to be there. Come up screaming

But at least we had 3 TV channels and they shut down at midnight and unless you were well off you didn't have a vcr in the early 80s, certainly didn't have one in my home till around 86

I was born 1980 and got a childhood ridden with (small, but many) health issues and autism and got constantly bullied in school and at home. And yet, the 80s and early 90s I've had the most fun of my life... ok, maybe into late 90s too because I have had probably the best high school classmates in the world, and those 4 years between 1994 and 1998 have been fun, too. But after that, when I had to go to college and lose one friend after another due to relocations, marriages, etc I've got into a betting addiction combined with a depressive state that have lasted me for 12 years (2002 till 2014). I have even been close to suiciding a few times during those years when my life had been dull and all I had going for me have been video games and porn, all alone in my room for 12 years straight, including on my birthday, on Christmas, New Year and everything between these dates.... Anyway, I digressed a little, but the point is that the 80s have truly been magical, there's absolutely nothing in this world after mid-90s that can match the 80s and early 90s years when it comes to entertainment. Everything in music, movies, cartoons, fashion and people's attitude and carelessness oozed of energy, vitality, optimism and possibilities. EVERYTHING. Those lucky enough to have lived through the 80s and 90s know that that era had been special and would never trade those experiences, no matter how poor, for anything that's come after that. I mean, if I wouldn't trade those years of childhood and teenage with all of the issues I've had I'm pretty sure that others who have had it easier than me wouldn't either :)
Man, life goes by in a flash. As a teenager in the 80s, this song hit me so hard after a breakup that I thought I would never recover. Seems like eons looking back. What a classic. OMD will live forever ♥️
These things always go wrong in The Twilight Zone and everywhere else. Good luck trying to stay alive in 1980s Afghanistan. Whether you're a Soviet soldier or Afghan resistance fighter.

I would literally go back to the 80s in a heartbeat. Me and my best friend laying on her bed in the dark listening to OMD talking about being best friends forever.

+Reuben Binyamin Agreed. I know I was much younger in the 80's and people usually look back on their younger days as being better and brighter but...its not just me, life WAS better back then. Everything for the last 15 or so years is death and depressing and down and the music nowadays SUCKS!! I really long for the days when I could put on a radio station and hear great songs by artists of varying genres...M. Jackson, Prince, Bruce, INXS, U2, The Cure, The Cars, OMD, Depeche Mode, The Rolling Stones, B. Joel, Clapton....you name it and every genre had major stars having major hits. Now we have people with no talent who spend their time having hits by sampling works by the giants who came before them. Very sad.
Troy Owens Best comment I ever seen . Can't be more accurate . I'm with you since I love good & talent music . I'm sure that even heaven play 80's . long live 80's ! Thanks :)
You know what Unflush? You wanna say "Troy I know when people look back on what they consider ""their" music they always think it's better than what's out there today but you're overlooked alot of good stuff like so and so" But, that would be asking to much of you wouldn't it? No, you have to be a child whose all about putting people down and calling them "stupid" and retarded", etc. If you want to be a child then be a child someplace else because you have already proven you have the maturity of a 2- year old and I don't have time for bringing my conversation down to your level. Just collect your binky and your rattle and move along your merry way becasue you obviously lack the maturity (not to mention common sense and decency) to engage in adult conversation and I don't have time to waste someone as incredibly junvenile as you. BTW - very mature name you got there..let me guess "Unflushable doody" was already taken?
You'd "rather" have the mentality of a 2 year old? Don't you get it numb-nuts...it's not like you have a choice....you already HAVE the mentality of a 2 year old. Opps, I think I hear your mommy calling....time to change your diaper!!
One my favorite 80s band! A true time machine for a piece of my heart that still lives in 1985. Why good music like this gone from today's MTV? Thanks God there is Classic MTV! I wish I could buy myself one of these 80s keyboards.
The 80’s was the best I am happy my childhood was in that era the keyboard that was used was the Yamaha DX7 true state of the Art instrument that the 80’s used!
Dublin in the 80s , sunshine radio- driving around with my dad. Lovely memories , great band 2024 still love them and the memories they bring ,48 now and play it alot ❤️
the music was often amazing, but the world often sucked. enjoy that the music is here for you. you couldn't pay me to rewind the years and have to do that all over again.
Thank you England and thank you OMD for letting me dream everyday with your astonishing, unparalleled legendary music. What would have the world been without English music and without OMD? Only God knows, but I can tell you that during this unbelievable, unprecedented year, I have been able to review most of my LPs and CDs and OMD still keep their place in the Heaven of the music. Thank you so much Andrew, thank you so much Paul, please one day come to Rome (or do I have to wait for my next life?)

Talk to me, don't lie to me Save your breath Don't look at me, don't smile at me Just close your eyes I was so impressed by you I was running blind I would fall for every trick Every twist of mind Heaven is cold Without any soul It's hard to believe I was so in love with you Don't say your prayers, don't build your hopes Just walk away Don't phone me up, don't call around Don't waste your time You were so in awe of me You were so divine You would do just anything To still be mine Heaven is cold Without any soul It's hard to believe I was so in love with you All the things you said to me I was so obsessed You were always talking, talking God, I did my best Heaven is cold Without any soul It's hard to believe I was so in love with you Heaven is cold Without any soul It's hard to believe I was so in love with you Heaven is cold Without any soul It's hard to believe I was so in love with you I was so in love, I was so in love, I was so in love with you So in love with you
One of the best kiss-offs ever recorded, but the guy is bleeding on the inside. Brilliant track. OMD always sounded better without the video nonsense. They were that good.
A mí me pasó algo parecido.
That 80s feeling when you first heard a new song on the radio , having to wait to hear it again until You bought it on tape or record , we had more time to appreciate music then . Pubs and clubs were awesome when you planned to meet friends they would show up when they were ready which was even better than tracking them by mobile or Tex etc it made it more special . Just playing music by record taking it out the sleeve and gently putting the needle on the record or rewinding a tape with patience. That feeling will always remain in me at the age of 56 and when you hear your children playing your fave 80s tracks you know you’ve achieved a little something in parenting I guess . Watching Top of The Pops awaiting your fave band and listening to the top 40 was so special OMD I salute you 🇬🇧 The best Synth Band ever
Even though I was just a little kid in the 80s this makes me feel so nostalgic, the 80s had so much energy and emotion I wish this music was popular now.

Now we have people with no talent who spend their time having hits by sampling works by the giants who came before them. Very sad.
Troy Owens
Best comment I ever seen . Can't be more accurate . I'm with you since I love good & talent music . I'm sure that even heaven play 80's . long live 80's ! Thanks :)
thanks Reuben....I like your comment..."Even Heaven plays the 80's"....so true!! Have a good one!!
The 80's when music was real music
And you could actually make out the lyrics without having to Google them.
Never gets old nearly 40 years on .. absolute tune ❤
The best decade for music.
80s music always puts your mind in some kind of nostalgic dream-state. No other music like it...
I grew up with 80s music

I’m 17 and I love this song. Man, I wish I was born in the 80’s.
the music was often amazing, but the world often sucked. enjoy that the music is here for you. you couldn't pay me to rewind the years and have to do that all over again.
Good song of 80's👍
SMART LITTLE KID !
It was shit.better now..
You must carry the torch of 80s music forward as the original 80s generation ages and fades away... it is... your mission...
The fact is that OMD was an 80's hits factory and up to these days they continue to save us from our misery!

I loved that synchronization when the bells sound and the sunlight reflects off the car at the same time.
We were so lucky growing up in the 70s and 80s the music was wonderful
The music and the fashion, the world wasn't perfect but so much better. Also we knew how to socialise
Romeo? Woooooow love rome
The magic of 80’s. This is music!
When I listen to this it makes me cry.
I love it and my dad 😔because he showed mi this beautiful music.
This song is pure 80’s bliss
If i remember correctly, it was a pretty big hit back then.
Heard it all the time - beautiful song.
One of my favorite songs in 80's,, when I was DJ, I got a lot of requests for this song. God I wish I could go back that times
So appreciate that you played it! I was one who requested it all the time where I hung out and it was like pulling teeth to get the DJ to play it.
I can't stop loving this song.
OMD and their melodies... Lovely...
This song reminds me of driving on the I-10 to Palm Springs California back in the '80s and watching the Wind Energy Fans pass by.

There will never be another decade like the 80s. Be grateful that we experienced, embraced and adored this fantastic period of our lives!!!
All these years later, I still get the chills with this clip. Thanks!
I'm glad I was a teenager during the 80's! Not only the music but also tv series like Miami Vice,Magnum,Chips..... I miss it,I really miss it!

This is the theme song of my teenage life..80s the best
I was born in 89. I feel nostalgia for a decade that didn't even live.
@Andres Padilla I was born in 69 and I feel that way about the 60's. Luckily, I lived through the 80's and I wouldn't trade that experience for anything.
1973. You have my sympathies...
Yer halfway there mate!.. good for recognizing that..
Me too
Callate
Damned song.. a truly masterpiece from 80s!
i was young cuz know i know it doesnt matter
Won't forget my one and only love way back in 1994 whenever I heard this song. I still love you Janette.
Talk to me, don't lie to me
Save your breath
Don't look at me, don't smile at me
Just close your eyes
I was so impressed by you
I was running blind
I would fall for every trick
Every twist of mind
Heaven is cold
Without any soul
It's hard to believe
I was so in love with you
Don't say your prayers, don't build your hopes
Just walk away
Don't phone me up, don't call around
Don't waste your time
You were so in awe of me
You were so divine
You would do just anything
To still be mine
Heaven is cold
Without any soul
It's hard to believe
I was so in love with you
All the things you said to me
I was so obsessed
You were always talking, talking
God, I did my best
Heaven is cold
Without any soul
It's hard to believe
I was so in love with you
Heaven is cold
Without any soul
It's hard to believe
I was so in love with you
Heaven is cold
Without any soul
It's hard to believe
I was so in love with you
I was so in love, I was so in love, I was so in love with you
So in love with you
One of the best kiss-offs ever recorded, but the guy is bleeding on the inside. Brilliant track. OMD always sounded better without the video nonsense. They were that good.
If my crush rejects me, I'm giving him these lyrics.
@@shannon2748
You can always draw on me.
Thank you. 👍🍻
A mí me pasó algo parecido.
Good to know that both you guys finally listened to this amaze!!
Que nostalgia me da escuchar esta música!
The music is changing, but the real music is this !!!! I love 80,s !!!
Claudio Zamudio thanks forever of 80
Excelentes palabras
Hello World.
That 80s feeling when you first heard a new song on the radio , having to wait to hear it again until
You bought it on tape or record , we had more time to appreciate music then .
Every OMD song was ear candy. I could listen to it 24/7.
Even though I was just a little kid in the 80s this makes me feel so nostalgic, the 80s had so much energy and emotion I wish this music was popular now.
Im so in love whit the 80's for this song in deed!
