:) 10:10 "After Effects" wash your mouth out with soap and water. Love you tutorials Patrick and I needed a reminder of adding media to a .drfx. Thanks for sharing!
This is valuable information. I will take this information and keep it it in a special folder marked "secret." Everyone knows that is the best security there is.
Thank you #PatrickSterling, your presentation at ResolveCon was insanely great!, it really shows the Powerhouse of Fusion, even though I felt like I was attending a NASA engineer conference (fusion newb here), This is way out of my skillset right now, but love how you go over how to do this. You are a great teacher, and all your presets you offer are so generous you have no idea how helpful they are for us all, thank you for all you do.
Will you be going through the difference in how you package/save titles vs effects vs generators vs transitions? I'm presuming it is in how you save the macro (and what nodes you save in fusion)?
@@PatrickStirling thumbs up is not enough for that comment 😜 would love to see that. I'm playing and learning it - but having a proper walk through would make it so much better. Have already saved heaps of time on our @boardgamebar videos already thanks to your templates and ones I have created thanks to what you have tought Big thanks! Membership to you is already paying itself off ☺️
Great video! I'm looking into selling macros/presets for Resolve. I've figured out how to make them, but I'm not sure how to get them out there. Any suggestions for where to start?
@PatrickStirling using the same steps for media in your drfx can we use this for audio. I have youtube assets that have audio with them and would love to be able pair the audio with them as a drag and drop installed drfx, even if it's only stored locally.
Hello. First of all, thank you for your great channel. I have a question regarding templates, maybe you can help me. When i create a fusion template (for example an effect), if i apply it to a clip and then want to modify it in fusion, all i see is one node with the template name and i can't see the nodes that are inside this template. I want to be able to have access to all my nodes that i used to create the template. Your templates do that so i know but i don't know how you do it. Could you help me? 😃
when you are in that Macro Editor packaging up your effect you want to choose the option to Save As Group. not Save or Save as. that will let you keep the macro as that group inside fusion you can always expand later 👍
I have been unable to find any documentation regarding the need to KEEP the drfx file (package) once it is installed or not... this whole process has changed so many times since early 17 that it is hard to keep up with. Any info about this?
Hi Patrick, thanks a lot for your amazing videos. I have a question: Is it possible that after you install any drfx library your Davinci Resolve starts to work slower than befor this installation? is it possible to uninstaal any drfx? thanks a lot
Hey Patrick, any thoughts on how to revert a DRFX file to its original state? I accidentally setup to open with DVR. So every time I double click a DRFX file it auto opens the app before it shows the installation pop up. Great vid as always btw! Thanks
the installation process for these is only moving the drfx to the correct location for Resolve to access them. and DRFX themselves are just relabeled .zip I can't see the risk but I'm also not a specialist. but being able to open up a drfx yourself and see what's inside should be reassuring. the presets themselves are just store as plain text .Setting files!
Patrick, thats amazing. But since you showed a lot what you can do and told about all those opportunities one sticked out to me. I've made a custom social media popup, which i want to have in every video without redoing it over and over again (even though its simple ones its made), how do i get it done? its actual a compound clip. I would love, if you would a video about that. even a very short one would be amazing. Cause you are someone, who can explain that so that even someone like me, can understand it.
Once you've got all your text sorted etc, you can render in place and then simply drag that from the timeline into a bin and it will save the video clip into your power bin so you can drag+drop whenever you want to place it onto a future project.
The weirdest thing is happening to me where I cannot install a template. It says the "selected path does not seem to be a valid template bundle format." I've tried everything, not sure why this is happening
@@PatrickStirling Its so weird. It only happens to the Shake Plugin you gave out. It just will not show up in the Edit tab even after zipping it, making a folder, etc. However, I can use the master shake in fusion tab, just not the edit one.
Thanks! I couldn't handle the Bug for a long time, your video helped me out a lot!
Hey Patrick, this is so cool! This opens up a whole new world of possibilities. Thanks for taking the time to share.
gonna start calling you Maestro Davinci which is master in Italian, awesome fx
Thanks Patrick, I was looking for more info on drfx files just yesterday, so this is great!

Good idea. I might have covered it in more comprehensive videos in the past but it's worth it as a stand-alone video

I've just done everything through UA-cam. No real tips on her than and o just start getting stuff out there

That's normal behavior. That installation prompt is part of Resolve and needs it to be running to move the drfx where it needs to go
@@PatrickStirling now it makes sense. Thank youuu ❤👍
hey its says the selected path shuld not valid , i wasnt abale to make drfx can you please reply
Are they always safe or can there be security risks - eg if they are from an unknowm designer, source ?

After deleting some of the drfx files, will they automatically reinstall after an update?
Nope, only those currently installed should stick around after an update
@@PatrickStirling good to know, thanks a lot. 😊
