Agree 100% about the foundation. I bought one maybe once when I was in my early 20s to try. I didn't much like the feeling, and also the principle behind putting on 'a mask' as it were. I’ve started making no buy lists for products I test and don’t like, don’t suit me, or my wallet lol. It’s actually gotten fun adding stuff to the list and discovering what I actually like!
As i get older, comfort, quality, and stuff i actually use/wear becomes more important. No more junk jewelry after turning 30, super padded push up bras, heels, dvds/cds, different cleaning sprays for every room, penny stocks, dryer sheets (switched to reusable balls), rice (rarely get it right). I cant get on board with going completely reusable menstrual products, but have made some healthier switches.
The biggest thing for me (other than disposable mensural products) is perfume and “fake scents”. They are so bad for you and tbh I really can’t stand them anymore. I work in a physical industry with people who use them all the time and it just smells nasty in my opinion. I shower once a day with a natural soap and I use a salt rock deodorant, and for me, even in the 32 degC (90degF) heat in the UK right now, I don’t feel like I need anything else x
I feel you on the shorts situation, I’m treating my varicose and spider veins, so far my insurance has cover, I only do 25$ co-pay. It is not as painful, but like they say they will look worse before they look better so after any injections or thermal ablations the leg ends up looking pretty bruise up...and before they start working on the spider veins they like to do an ultrasound to see if there are any “deeper” problems.
When I was in high school I never got shorts bc I couldn't wear them in class. Somehow... college convinced me I needed them again to go to parties. Recently I've realized I didn't even like them in the first place. They ride up and it's uncomfortable.
I didn’t own foundation until I turned about 45 and then I noticed that a light foundation was needed . So you may need to review this in time .... but never mind you have hundreds of foundation free years ahead.
i think the most common one would be those water bottles that come in packs at the store. Buying things like slippers and purses that are made in America (durable) have helped a lot because I don’t have to buy new ones and throw the old ones in a landfill. Recorking my Birkenstock’s instead of buying new ones. I’m gonna check out your period underwear
AD Vad when i did my super home decluttering i gave away all my nail polish except my black one .. so am trying to use it up. Yeah regular bras that strap from the back. I only wear sport bras.
I work at a jewelry store so I know that fake jewelry is also a huge waste of money and unsustainable because you cannot repair it or even have it professionally cleaned because it’s either plated or base metal and it will destroy it
Un aplauso 👏🏻 para su novio que hizo un excelente trabajo en la traducción! I love this, the foundation part I can totally relate , gave it a break and well now, I can’t get myself to wear makeup. Lol🤍
Good for you! I went through the same thinking. Cellulite is not a bad thing. And when it’s hot, we should be able to wear shorts without feeling embarrassed. It’s vain to think that way anyway.
@@susie7336 My mom used to always say that I should just wear shorts, but I think I spent about 10 years wearing jeans and other long pants because I was embarrassed of my legs and I didn't want people to see what they looked like... sometimes I still struggle with being body positive, but no one is perfect and now I just appreciate the fact that I have legs.
I used to love shorts, but got terrible ‘chubrub’ once I started sweating. It made wearing shorts so uncomfortable... now I just wear normal jeans and feel way more comfy even on a hot day

Kyra Ann Awesome!! Spanish is my first language too, I'm from Mexico. I love your videos 😊 I'm in a journey of minimalism too and your videos are very inspiring 💕 thank you so much for all of them! (I want to create my own UA-cam channel in the future 😁)
im really glad i found this channel! once i live on my own, i also want to start living a more environmental friendly lifestyle with minimal waste and etc☺
Don’t remember the last time I bought jewelry. Most of them I own are passed down from my mother and grandmother. And even those fit into one small container. 😄
1. Real estate / House -- Makes you less flexible / mobile 2. Weddings -- Low quality content for high price (tired speech, mediocre songs/dance, mediocre food, etc). There's better ways to celebrate for couples 3. Cars -- Sits idle 95% of time. Many layers of waste (insurance, gas, parking, maintenance). Share, rent, or go car-free if possible
Real estate can be a fantastic investment IF you don’t purchase more house than you can afford. I bought a cheap foreclosure, lived it it and fixed it up over 7 years, and made over 100k in pure profit when I sold it. Smart financial decisions can allow a person to have more freedom in life. However, since most people purchase WAAY out of their budget, then yes.. in those circumstances it can make you more strapped for tangible cash and add stress to your life. Totally agree on the weddings though. Have a small backyard wedding, or go to the courthouse. You’ll never really think about it much after years have passed, and that dress will just sit in your closet.
Kyra! I feel the same way, I will never buy shorts for the same reason. I have the same prob with the spiders! Hate it, plus I don’t think shorts are that cool. You can always wear a sundress! Stay safe sweetie. 😊
Hi Kyra! How are you? I wanted to thank you because you've made me change to reusable pads (I didn't know they existed). I made them myself and I love them (especially because they were the first thing I sew in my life)! It's been 7 months since I no longer buy any product for my period. Thank you ♡
I was also a fan of earrings and used to wear different earrings to college everyday But man it sucks .....they wear out so quickly......i m currently saving to buy myself a decent gold earrings.
Nice jewelry like 14k gold, diamond, precious gemstones, if you take care of them, they last a lifetime. You can even pass them to your kids and grandkids and they will still look good.
Love your videos is always Kyra. However, I always have to comment underneath these kind of videos about women who cannot use menstrual cups or even tampons. Some (including myself) have vulvodynia, endometriosis, pelvic floor dysfunction etc. Menstruation, sex and other stuff are extremely painful and I don't want anything down there. I tried tampon once and almost passed out. I do what I can- use eco or washable pads. Hugs from Croatia :)
I also heard the same thing! Ever since I started my period when I was 13 I was terrified and also made fun of a lot because I never wanted to use tampons. I just always felt that sticking a tampon up you was the weirdest thing ever to do. To me it didn’t look comfortable it just look like it shouldn’t be up there. But then again that’s my opinion everyones Experience with tampons is different.
Kyra, thank you so much for mentioning shorts! This is exactly how I feel every time I swear shorts and I don’t know why I keep wearing them! This video has woken me up and make me realise that there is soo many different clothing items I feel more comfortable! Love all your videos!
Love your vids Kyra!! Thanks for being awesome. I’m trying to reduce makeup to as little as you have. I’m getting there! I used to be a makeup artist and had hundreds of products. Now I have about 10 in total! But want to be down to like 3. Might just keep some things aside for special occasions and make my daily products mascara, concealer and lip balm.
Im on the same page with fake jewelry. Also skin care treatments in general I spent a lot of money in the past on them and I am honestly too lazy to have a skin care routine. Also I never buy fancy new clothes, thrift store always.
Hi Kyra, I have ditched the following items as well. 1. Home and car air fresheners. 2. Pizza cutter. I use scissors after watching one of your videos. 3. Fake jewellery. I have purchased select gold pieces instead. That mean something to me and represent who I am. 4. Shower gels and body wash in bottles. I have converted to goats milk soap which is beautiful on the skin. Thinking of the environment. I have stopped buying loads of other items, too many too mention but my next one to ditch is bottles of shampoo and conditioner. I will be switching to shampoo and conditioner bars. Slowly ditching plastic. Btw love your videos. X
nice video, thanks for sharing your experience with us :) and thanks for the subtitles, is not difficult to understand you because you speak in a really clear way but I'm sure all Spanish speakers appreciate the subtitles 👏
Hi Kyra! 💕 I’m not sure if you’ve ever made a video similar to this, but I’d love to see a video on makeup hoarding. I cannot stop buying the new collections from Colourpop, etc. & I don’t know why. 😭 lol
I stopped makeup hoarding after unsubscribed to all beauty youtubers & emails, unfollowed makeup related IGs. I knew nothing after that and use whatever I have which is a LOT 😂 I've given away everything that are not my favorite & keep only what I love. Believe me, you won't feel left out cause you're out of makeup holes.
I completely agree about car air fresheners and the foundation. Literally the last foundation i bought was over a year ago and i barely wear it. I usually use concealer and tinted moisturizer because of my acne scars. I'm also thinking about menstrual cups because i'm tired of buying pads and want to help the environment as well. Question, is your bf a minimalist as well? if not, how does he feel about you being one?
l also hate wearing shorts because of my spider and varicose veins that have increased over the last few years. I’m planning on getting them treated this year. I will say it is definitely worth getting it looked into since it might be something more problematic than just a cosmetic issue. I’m a diagnostic medical sonographer and we perform venous ultrasound studies to find any sort of reflux that might be causing those spider veins which equates to problems with the valves in your major veins not working properly. I know the surgery is expensive, especially without insurance coverage, but if it isn’t just cosmetic it would most likely be covered by insurance and also prevent any future health issues. I just wanted to let you know. Love your content from a fellow MA girl😊
Love this video...I recently got rid of all fake jewellery or costume jewellery as my family calls it...and I don't buy shorts either...and I don't purchase bath and body works sprays and lotions anymore feel like I'm over that stage.
Whatever your doing in terms of receiving natural life mentoring for yourself, keep going, stay how you are whilst still learning and enjoying the things you do, your a pure girl and I'm fond of you. Love from Australia. (PS. I'm 24 y o lady)
I had the same problems with earrings. I bought a cheap set of 3 for $3 as placeholders because Id keep losing the backs. Ive noticed that my ear either feels sore or a little swollen or bleeds a bit if I take that earring out. Needless to say, only sterling silver or the like for me. Maybe some timeless pairs for year round. But no more dozens of cheap pairs, only 10 or so thats high quality.
I'm not a fan of random kitchen gadgets but I've been toying with the idea of an onion chopper because I'm incapable of cutting them without crying. My eyes are very sensitive!
Onion chopper is very useful and time saving. I hate cutting onion, garlic and shallot every time I need to cook. So if you like me who cook with those three, buy it.. it make your cooking time less consuming.
Good video Kyra! I too like you won't purchase cleaning products-I use lemon, vinegar and baking soda. Won't buy plastic wrap or foil, so wasteful. Use only baking paper, if needed, or use bee's wax paper. Like you, certain types of personal hygiene products-shampoo, conditioner or deodorant-I go for organic or natural items, essential oils and balms. Plus, in terms of clothing try to only buy cotton or linen, as polyester or similar fabrics are bad for both us and the environment/oceans and wildlife.
when you say shorts, I feel soooooo relate to you, I was wearing a lot of it before my high school, but after I entered a Christian high-school, shorts was unappropriated to wear during the school time, so I didn't wear it for around 3 years. After graduated from high school, I just feel so weird and uncomfortable of wearing shots anymore, definitely understand you.... love your video
I'm really surprised you don't have an aloe plant. They're very sturdy and you can get a cutting from someone else's aloe plant and it will grow easily. If you want to go zero cost, if you buy anything in a glass jar at all. There's your container with water. They root in water
As of right now we still have tide pods since both of our family’s gave us a bunch around Xmas time. So that’s what we’ve been using/trying to get rid of first. Then I will start doing my research on other ones and I will make sure to let you guys know how that goes.
I don't buy lush bath bomb or bubble bars any more. Only thing I would still splurge on is the mask of magnaminty self proserving face mask. I wasted WAY too much on lush.
First you’re cute as a bug. I don’t buy jewelry of any kind I have allergies or my skin gets irritated. I have enough that I don’t wear, I don’t need more. I knit so I haven’t bought socks for myself in over a year. I don’t really buy seasonal decor. I have a tree and a box of ornaments but the tree lights help in the winter months. I haven’t bought an a book in over a year. My sister gives me books and we have similar enough taste that this works. I waited to buy a ‘work from home desk’ till last week. It’s feeling really good to have my table back but not jumping in with covid party arms home office shopping spree is how I roll.
Great video. How did you discover osea skincare. And why. I see ads for it a lot, but I had never really heard of it until recently. I purchased pacifica dewy youth cream on your recommendation, and I really like it, but now I am intrigued about osea. Can you do a video on it. ❤
Thank you 🤍 oh yes I still love Pacifica and I’ve always loved Osea. Osea is more of a treat for my skin since it is very pricey. But well worth the price tag.
I don’t wear shorts either. Although people always ask why I don’t and I wish they would mind their own business LOL. I’m curious though when you go camping do you just wear jeans in the capris? I tend to like the Capri Jeans in the summer more of a lightweight material and cargo capris I think are pretty cute with a T-shirt
When I go camping I normally wear my pj swear pants or my jeans. Since those damn mosquitoes love to attack my legs 😫. But most of the time I will wear sweats.
I am so with you with those kitchen gadgets! The amount of random utensils I bought now makes me uncomfortable thinking about it 🤣 Great video! ❤️ I love the images that you use for transitions and context. Where do you get them from? I would love to use something similar for my videos when I talk about something that I can’t photograph right now (e.g. like the ocean, I miss going to the ocean so much)
Hi hun 😁 I actually get my pics/videos from Unsplash or pexels both sites are free to use and the best thing is that it’s copyrighted free!! Thank you 🤍
I tottally agree with not buying a lot of cleaning products, but specially in this virus times .... vinegar doesn't kill all types of bacteria and germs. That is why I am buying some natural eco friendly product for all purpose cleaning.
This sweater was giving to a couple years back from someone at my old job. I believe it was from fashion nova🤷🏻♀️ I’m actually not a fan of that site at all. But since it was free I took it at the time.
I was confused when you said face mask. I thought you were referring to the face mask that we wear during this pandemic. instead we called it sheet mask if the one we use on our face 😅
Hugs about the shorts. Luckily you live somewhere mostly cooler. I have gotten past how I look in shorts because I am too hot temperature wise and it gets hot in Ohio.
I think you should wear the shorts if you want to! I got made fun of wearing shorts one time by these 2 girls and I wouldn’t wear them for a while after that. But I got over it and I wear them to this day I love them! :) I understand if you don’t like them though I respect that

Buying things like slippers and purses that are made in America (durable) have helped a lot because I don’t have to buy new ones and throw the old ones in a landfill. Recorking my Birkenstock’s instead of buying new ones. I’m gonna check out your period underwear
Things I wouldn’t buy any more :
regular bras
make up
nail polish
Fake jewelry
Home Decore
You don't apply nail polish anymore? Also curious about regular bras
AD Vad when i did my super home decluttering i gave away all my nail polish except my black one .. so am trying to use it up. Yeah regular bras that strap from the back. I only wear sport bras.
I work at a jewelry store so I know that fake jewelry is also a huge waste of money and unsustainable because you cannot repair it or even have it professionally cleaned because it’s either plated or base metal and it will destroy it
I like how practical she is!
Thank you 🤍
Un aplauso 👏🏻 para su novio que hizo un excelente trabajo en la traducción! I love this, the foundation part I can totally relate , gave it a break and well now, I can’t get myself to wear makeup. Lol🤍
I get you either the veins. But I still love shorts. Being in Texas it’s a necessity. Lol and I don’t care what others think.
I love shorts too and im in texas as well
I felt like that about shorts for a while...I have cellulite and stretch marks... but I was like, “bump that it’s hot, lol!” Now I wear them anyway
It made wearing shorts so uncomfortable... now I just wear normal jeans and feel way more comfy even on a hot day
@@makaylatolmie sorry, what is chubrub?
@@GenuinelyGiGi so relate. My legs are my least favorite part and it takes a lot of inner fight to expose them with heavy cellulite and often pimples or scars from pimples. :/
1.I wont buy bras with wires in them. 2. I wont buy alcohol. 3. I wont buy cigarettes 4.i wont use or buy hard drugs 5. I wont buy Toe rings 6. When my acne gets cleared up i would stop buying acne products 7. I wont buy another lava lamp since i already have one.
Thank you for the Spanish subtitles! They are very accurate. Thanks for this video too 💕
Yayy I will make sure to let my bf know that. He worked for hours on getting it just right.
Kyra Ann, that's awesome. How does he know Spanish?
Diana Gasga He was born and raised in DR he came to the use in 2005. So Spanish is his first language 😁, he learned English when he got here.
Yayy Thank you 🤍
I stopped wearing mascara after watching your previous videos❤️❤️, and I don’t miss wearing it either, thanks
I love how she speaks so clearly, the auto subtitles are almost perfect!
Aww thank you Laura🤍
Don’t remember the last time I bought jewelry. Most of them I own are passed down from my mother and grandmother. And even those fit into one small container. 😄
1. Real estate / House -- Makes you less flexible / mobile
2. Weddings -- Low quality content for high price (tired speech, mediocre songs/dance, mediocre food, etc). There's better ways to celebrate for couples
3. Cars -- Sits idle 95% of time. Many layers of waste (insurance, gas, parking, maintenance). Share, rent, or go car-free if possible
Cars are needed when you live in small cities/towns with no public transportation or when you have to travel for necessities

I used to change my earings to go w.my outfits Now,I just wear my silver hoops.Simple.
I always get car sick too whenever there is a scent in a car 🙈🙈 even faster when the heater are turned on 😑
Kyra! I feel the same way, I will never buy shorts for the same reason. I have the same prob with the spiders! Hate it, plus I don’t think shorts are that cool. You can always wear a sundress! Stay safe sweetie. 😊
I also hate shorts! But I get too hot in Summer so I wear them anyway. Lol
I never buy shaving cream, k cups, hair spray, or knick knacks.
Hi Kyra! How are you? I wanted to thank you because you've made me change to reusable pads (I didn't know they existed). I made them myself and I love them (especially because they were the first thing I sew in my life)! It's been 7 months since I no longer buy any product for my period. Thank you ♡
Hi Yanina 🤍
Yayy that’s so awesome hun!!! I wish I had those sewing skills, I would make my own as well.
I was also a fan of earrings and used to wear different earrings to college everyday
But man it sucks .....they wear out so quickly......i m currently saving to buy myself a decent gold earrings.
I’ve read tampons are dangerous and unhealthy for women - pads are best.
Mentrual underwear could be a good option then. They are environment friendly and safer for women body. And they are super confortable
I cannot use menstrual cup and tampons too. I buy organic cotton pads from Natracare and I am not gonna feel sorry. It is for my health. 🙂
Thank you 🤍
I stopped buying almost all of the same things too. What a waste of money.
I stop buying CDs because they don't sell them in the stores anymore.lol
You truly are an inspiration, sending you love from the Philippines 😘😘
Love your vids Kyra!! Thanks for being awesome. I’m trying to reduce makeup to as little as you have. I’m getting there! I used to be a makeup artist and had hundreds of products. Now I have about 10 in total! But want to be down to like 3. Might just keep some things aside for special occasions and make my daily products mascara, concealer and lip balm.
Aww thank you so much Emma🤍
i really want to switch to reusable pads or similar options but i haven’t had the courage just yet so i stick to organic ones for now.
Im on the same page with fake jewelry. Also skin care treatments in general I spent a lot of money in the past on them and I am honestly too lazy to have a skin care routine. Also I never buy fancy new clothes, thrift store always.
Thrift stores - love them! 💕🙌🏼
Thank you 🤍 that’s awesome I swear by the pizza scissor method🙌🏼
Hi Kyra! I was wondering if you still have/wear your 4Ocean bracelet ?
nice video, thanks for sharing your experience with us :)
and thanks for the subtitles, is not difficult to understand you because you speak in a really clear way but I'm sure all Spanish speakers appreciate the subtitles 👏
Thank you 🤍
Hi Kyra! 💕 I’m not sure if you’ve ever made a video similar to this, but I’d love to see a video on makeup hoarding. I cannot stop buying the new collections from Colourpop, etc. & I don’t know why. 😭 lol
I believe I have in the past but I can definitely do an updated version for you guys soon.
Can you please make a video of the specific things that you use to clean around your home?
I agree with the full coverage face thing. I use foundation as concealer now and it's lasted me for many months :D
Amazing quality video Kyra!!
Thank you Lori🤍
I switched to natural make up I'm not touching anything else now lol
Yes 🙌🏼💕
l also hate wearing shorts because of my spider and varicose veins that have increased over the last few years.
You can use alcohol as windex too!
Yass!! great idea 🤍 BTW I love your profile pic ughh app darn cute😽
Kyra Ann awww thank you!! that’s my baby 🥰
So happy for you Kyra been here since day one ❤️ love the Boston accent May god continue to bless you 💞❤️
I never buy shower gel again, I use a shampoo/shower gel duo which works for hair and body
Love this video...I recently got rid of all fake jewellery or costume jewellery as my family calls it...and I don't buy shorts either...and I don't purchase bath and body works sprays and lotions anymore feel like I'm over that stage.
Thank you Gabby 🤍
I always feel sick from those car air fresheners and feel like throwing up. And they don't even smell good.
So freakin true 😩🙌🏼
Whatever your doing in terms of receiving natural life mentoring for yourself, keep going, stay how you are whilst still learning and enjoying the things you do, your a pure girl and I'm fond of you. Love from Australia. (PS. I'm 24 y o lady)
Aww Thank you 🤍
My top 3:
1. Foundation, bright colored lip products
2. High heel shoes (just can't wear them)
3. Ziploc bags
Unrelated, but your accent is adorable.
My trick is some sunglasses and a fan while cutting them 🤫😎🌬🧅
Onion chopper is very useful and time saving. I hate cutting onion, garlic and shallot every time I need to cook. So if you like me who cook with those three, buy it.. it make your cooking time less consuming.
Candles I rather use essential oils and diffusers
Good video Kyra! I too like you won't purchase cleaning products-I use lemon, vinegar and baking soda. Won't buy plastic wrap or foil, so wasteful. Use only baking paper, if needed, or use bee's wax paper. Like you, certain types of personal hygiene products-shampoo, conditioner or deodorant-I go for organic or natural items, essential oils and balms. Plus, in terms of clothing try to only buy cotton or linen, as polyester or similar fabrics are bad for both us and the environment/oceans and wildlife.
Thank you 🤍
when you say shorts, I feel soooooo relate to you, I was wearing a lot of it before my high school, but after I entered a Christian high-school, shorts was unappropriated to wear during the school time, so I didn't wear it for around 3 years. After graduated from high school, I just feel so weird and uncomfortable of wearing shots anymore, definitely understand you.... love your video
Thank you 🤍 FINALLY someone gets my pain when it comes to shorts lol
I don’t own any shorts either except one PJ one I wear at home. I just roll up my jeans or wear capris if it’s hot out.
I no longer buy cheap shoes.
Now i think it's better to invest in a good quality pair than buying many.
I'm really surprised you don't have an aloe plant. They're very sturdy and you can get a cutting from someone else's aloe plant and it will grow easily. If you want to go zero cost, if you buy anything in a glass jar at all. There's your container with water. They root in water
Your video is always inspiring me. Thank you so much, Kyra. Love from Indonesia 😊❤❤❤
Thank you 🤍
What do you use to wash with? Detergent, Fabric Softner etc?
As of right now we still have tide pods since both of our family’s gave us a bunch around Xmas time. So that’s what we’ve been using/trying to get rid of first. Then I will start doing my research on other ones and I will make sure to let you guys know how that goes.
@@sharonkimble715 where can I purchase these! Thanks in advance 💐
The amount of random utensils I bought now makes me uncomfortable thinking about it 🤣
Great video! ❤️ I love the images that you use for transitions and context. Where do you get them from? I would love to use something similar for my videos when I talk about something that I can’t photograph right now (e.g. like the ocean, I miss going to the ocean so much)
Hi hun 😁 I actually get my pics/videos from
Unsplash or pexels both sites are free to use and the best thing is that it’s copyrighted free!!
Thank you 🤍
Kyra Ann Thank you! I will take a look. Have a lovely day
I tottally agree with not buying a lot of cleaning products, but specially in this virus times .... vinegar doesn't kill all types of bacteria and germs. That is why I am buying some natural eco friendly product for all purpose cleaning.
The only makeup I wear right now: Anastasia Dipbrow Pomade, MAC Liquidlast Eyeliner, Total Hydration Vitamin Enriched Lip Oil (Peach Tea)
Where’s your sweater from??? It looks really cozy
This sweater was giving to a couple years back from someone at my old job. I believe it was from fashion nova🤷🏻♀️ I’m actually not a fan of that site at all. But since it was free I took it at the time.
Great video, your channel is such a a healthy watch
Aww thank you so much 🤍
Where did you get your second hole studs? I’m looking for good real ones but can’t seem to find some.
I purchased them from amazon about 6 years back. They no longer sell these exact kind but what I searched for was “sterling silver” tiny studs.
Kyra Ann thank you Kyra! 💓
I was today years old when I found out about washable pads!
I think you should wear the shorts if you want to! I got made fun of wearing shorts one time by these 2 girls and I wouldn’t wear them for a while after that. But I got over it and I wear them to this day I love them! :) I understand if you don’t like them though I respect that
The febreeze car air fresheners have always been so strong that they made me nausea and a headache 🤢
still nt completed the video...bt u are always on point...👌👍 lv u❣
