Natalie Rene I think it’s recognised as mental health problems, I don’t understand either because I just don’t like useless things but this comes from my mum keeping everything. Like I think when you don’t have a lot as a kid and you grow up and can afford things you don’t want to feel like you are missing something. I see so many people buying a lot and keeping and It just makes them happy I think to have a lot around them

Most fish you can buy is domesticated sweetwater. Those breeds are usually not made to survive in the wild anymore. They especially wouldn't survive in the ocean as that is saltwater 😉
It's a bit like dogs, they are so specially bred for the most part that they are unlikely to make it without us providing for them.

There are good things about keeping fish as a hobby, many times can become a conservation and scientific thing, think about white mountain clouds they are extinct in the wild, the only way the species is allow to exist now it’s because of fish keepers, also there are programs to try help to preserve natural habitats, for example the neon tetra, which natural habitat declined and people got together to teach the locals to catch the fish to make a profit and at the same time persuade them to preserve the area so this fish can keep existing in their habitat, in the most sustainable way possible. Actually if you guys check out the fish keeping hobby you would realize how many people care for the fish and the habitat!
But of course there are some bad things, like fish that are caught from the wild without regards of conservation or sustainability.

Thank you for this Kyra. I watch videos like this to motivate me to keep going and not spending. Although I am definitely not a minimalist, adopting a minimalistic mindset when purchasing things is very helpful in saving money, asking oneself why am I purchasing this item? Is it a need or a want? Do I have something similar like this already or an item that could perform the same function without me making another purchase? Anyways, it has definitely helped me... my journey to decluttering and minimalism is a slow and thoughtful one and I'm loving it.

Hello Kyra, I am a new subscriber. Only recently came across your channel and checked out a few of your videos. I'm a fan of the message you're putting out into the world where every thing else is pushing us to spend more and purchase more. It's exhausting always trying to "keep up" so it's a breath of fresh air to hear someone say all of that is not necessary. Keep it up!

I love your video! Very straightforward, not much of upfront blabla, even though you did justify your personal opinions at the beginning (which is completely unnecessary) but over all, just extremely honest and pure and inspiring. thank you!

Thanks so much for the video. I'll have to try the coconut oil.
For fabric softener, you can try white vinegar. This is something I learned in France. It doesn't make your clothes smell like vinegar. Makes the clothes soft. White vinegar is also an excellent cleaning tool as it kills germs.

Please dont feel bad for not going to school. I know so many people that have degrees and cant find jobs in their field. I'm impressed that you are working the same job for 6 years. So many job hop. Working with the elderly is fulfilling. You keep up the good work. We can all learn from you and your outlook on life. Tfs

A big tip for minimalism especially if you're just starting.... reusable or multi-purpose should be in the back of your head every time you go to buy. You could also start by decluttering and throwing away the stuff you already have that you don't use (or sell it for extra $$) I'm not 100% vegan or minimalism but just practicing it for the past year has changed my life and I only do small simple things 😂

I went to a large vintage store I mean this place was full of stuff! I realized how much stuff is in this world and how much goes to waste. Only thing I don't agree with is the bras. If you have large breast it's necessary to spend money on a good quality bra. Good thing is that more affordable stores like Kohls are now offering larger sizes higher quality bras so you dont always have to go to stores like Lane Bryant.

Gave me some more ideas. Thanks. Off the top of my head (I don’t purchase anymore): cable; magazines; newspaper; homephone/landline; game apps on my mobile; rags to clean the house (I use old clothes and cut them up); socks; face towels; recipe books; books; wallet; souvenirs; refrigerator magnets; eco bags (I have plenty); cellphone case; workout clothes; handkerchief; coffee (switched to tea); creamer for the coffee; wrapping paper; holiday decorations (I have enough)...whoa, it’s a lot. Sorry to flood your comment section.
