I’m a very frugal minimalist and a game I always like to play is everything that is in my checking account the night before I get paid… Gets moved over to savings
Same :) and I finally figured out how to balance out my bills between my two paychecks per month so that they’re even. Before that I’d over or under spend on my variable expenses.
The US has become so grim for young people. I stress about my future because of debt, low wages and house prices. Your channel consistently gives me so much hope and such a sense of control. Thank you so much for sharing your way of life!!
this video is so spot on. I’m 24 so I’m definitely at a point where I’m trying to save money. I work for a school system and get paid monthly and have 2 side hustles. So each time I get paid from either of them I put something back into my savings. TFS!
I love the advice you are sharing on this channel! I’m a sahm, 29, and our views align so much! We bought our first home a few months ago and recently have been eating simply yet still healthy to save money. ❤️
I don't have any apps on my phone and I have never shopped online. I rarely buy new I try to buy at thrift stores or garage sales as much as possible. My bedroom furniture was purchased new 43 years ago it's solid wood and most of my Furniture is probably 30 years old except I bought a new couch and chair four years ago took me several years of thinking about it before spending the money. When I bought my house 18 years ago I went through each room and wrote down what I wanted to change in it the list is about halfway done because I only update when I have the cash plus in that time I had to replace roof furnace and air.
This video is perfect timing.👏 I took a high paying job in February which is making me ill and although I can save £1000 a month, I have decided to go for a much lower paying job for my happiness so I will be using these tips for sure. Obsessed with all your videos 💚
I've been minimalist & sustainable living for over 6 yrs and after cutting out all non essential expenses and going plant base has changed my life with my bi-weekly check I have always had an emergency fund I pay my bills first and pretty much have a whole check for savings and that is a long term satisfaction
Kyra, I so appreciate your advice videos like these. It shows how down to earth and practical you are, and are gifted at making the same points in a different light - keep up the good work!
Eating out is definitely a hard habit to break. Every month I "challenge" myself to eat & drink what's in our house. I have found that if I look to see what we actually have, then I can buy something to go with it, during our next grocery shopping trip.
@@moonmagickal3634 I hear you. I think it's ok, like working those outings into your grocery budget. My hubby & I was just wasting $$ by going grocery shopping & then going out to eat.
Another way to save money is buying quality items so you don't have to spend money replacing it... even if it seems cheaper to buy the cheaper item, think of long term... and the quality items can be one of the things you write down to save for too!
Such a great video! I decluttered a bunch of stuff over the weekend and it felt so good. Thanks for the encouragement!!!!! Side note, I’ve been wanting a new hydro flask and there’s a sale, but I already have a water bottle that’s perfectly good. I thought “what would Kyra do? She would not buy a new water bottle because she already has one. Haha 😆 sometimes it’s a struggle
Motivating me to buckle down and save more. Thank you! We’re able to save a healthy percentage of our income every month, but lately I keep thinking- how can I maximize this? Every penny counts. 😍
Working on simplifying my skin care routine as well! You look great by the way kyra 😍 your skin and hair looks flawless! awww that little touch of milo🥰🥰💙💙
After watching one of your cleaning videos I purchased some reusable sponges and I love them I change my sponges out more often and it feels way cleaner and I’m saving money on sponges. I did look into the paper towels, I’m still trying to figure out which design I like most they have so many options. Do you have a link for the washable shower curtain? Thanks! You are really helping me with changing my habits in life and with $.
I save by asking myself is it a need or a want? Also by not leaving my house going to stores because I'm bored. I'm happy just being home, cleaning, decluttering or just sitting in my garage listening to music
I definitely feel like trying to lower our expenses without compromising quality of life is key! I think Kyra touched on this in the video, but I recently started to unsubscribing/turning off notifications of places that I love shopping at because that takes away the temptation of wanting to purchase something if a company sends a flash sale email. It's out of sight and out of mind lol
Love how you always keep it real with achievable tips! I don’t have any shopping apps, but do get emails from shops so will definitely get off their mailing list now 👍
I love your videos and they always motivate me a lot! I will start following through ❤️ I agree about skin care! I’m acne prone, mild papular acne. For the last 4 years I have ditched fancy expensive products that promise to clear acne, anti age ETC! I stick to basic Cera Ve products, sunscreen and only prescription strength skincare prescribed by my dermatologist! 😄 I don’t exfoliate because the Tretinoin prescribed by my Dr. does that for me 😁😁😁
I grow up I a family with decent income but my parents teach me always to be humble and I didn't really know what is that until I move out from my house. Now I wish that I can get back all the money that I wasted before on stupid things 😭😭😭. Great video ❤️
Great idea. Deleting shopping apps. I have chewy app and only keep it now for my dogs prescription heart worm meds but I learned quickly I was spending too much also on things for my pup. SO....now I shop for his things like new toys, treats, poop bags, food etc from the dollar store and discount stores like Ross dress for less, Marshall’s & TJMaxx. Just make sure to check expiration dates! And I only purchase more when he runs out or completely ruins a toy 😂
I love it- I had a hubby that would not include food in the budget and well duh 🙄 how come we don't have enough money? Saving is easier now because that problem got solved- buh-bye.
Thank you dor this video its great timing i have been saving with no goals because most were travel trips and covid happened so although traveling is possible I feel limited to what i may do when traveling. Regardless i needed a reminder of why. My biggest problem area is eating out I'm just so tired from work most days i dont want to put in the effort to cook then clean afterwards but ive cut it down to just the weekends soon ill do just once a week then no weekly then month. Anyway thanks again!
Love it.. Great tips. Minimising external influence like the apps is a big one. I need to listen to you on this one. Could you do a video on weekly food shop and meal plan maybe? That would be great. x
I really loved this video, Kyra! Deleting apps is such a great idea. And I can't believe you got that much money from selling your clothes. You really had a lot of things then, haha Hugs from Argentina ❤️

Omg thank you so much this is an amazing tip because i never know exactly how much to put in savings!
Planning bills ahead of time has helped me tremendously ✌🏻

Crock pot recipes (like chili) are also great to use what you have in the pantry and it goes a long way.
I love all of your videos!!! You deserve more followers.
You are very practical I appreciate that about you. I have to be stricter because I am saving for retirement.
Love frequency and quality of your uploads, you take great care of your viewers. Thank you!
I have deleted the apps and it has helped, but when I get bored all I can think of is spend money. I want to get away from that. Nice video.

Really enjoyed this video, Kyra! Definitely gave me that extra inspo to save more on my little budget :)

When I start saving for something and reach that dollar amount I rarely want to spend the money that I saved ! Never thought I'd be like that LoL.

That’s my biggest thing 😅 me and my man love to go to restaurants and order drinks on the weekend 😬

Me either!!
I used to buy clothes and cosmetics during my lunch break at work and package was next day next to my door. Not any more. 🙂
I do lol. I literally have Zara, urban outfitters and some other ones in my phone. Deleting them now tho
