Years and I mean YEARS ago we had a classical radio station that played classical religious pieces on Sunday mornings. This was the theme song that opened the program. I loved it, but I didn't know the title, just the melody, and looked for it for years. I found if by accident on UA-cam. I am so happy to hear it now whenever I want.
In small chapels, hidden from the world, this continues. I am glad to witness it tonight. We will keep the ancient tradition, do not worry. Merry Christmas!
This is being sung in Ecclesiastical Latin as used in Churches from around the 10th Century onwards and is not true Latin. But still remains a beautiful example of a early to mid 16th Century Carol although I suspect from the style that it may actually be of Medieval origin.

Something beautiful about male voices raised in praise of the Mother of God, Gaudete
When I was a kid, pre Vatican II, we could sing English carols until midnight at Midnight Mass, after midnight, everything was in Latin.
Vatican II was a mistake.
