  • What do the little words LE, SE, ME, LO, LA that both the buyer and seller use in this context mean? Why are these highlighted words used in each case? Are all of these highlighted words used correctly? Why?
Remember… LE, SE, ME, LO and LA are pronouns in Spanish used to replace nouns and avoid their repetition. "ME" is used as the indirect object of the first person singular ("They gave me a gift"). "LE" is the third-person indirect object pronoun for both genders ("I gave him the book"). "SE" can be a reflexive pronoun or an indirect object pronoun that replaces "le" or "les" when next to a direct object pronoun ("I gave it to him"). "LO" and "LA" are direct object pronouns; "LO" is used for masculine nouns ("Lo vi"), and "LA" for feminine nouns ("La vi").
