I know this is 3 year old ,but I think is never that late to comment :) Japan airlines is in my boket list and the 787. If you wander, if was the 2-4-2 configuration the standard supposed for the 787 since it really was supposed to be the👉 "new 330/340". I will never forget airlines of what they did! But we'll. Excellent video and Kal would soon fly to Miami nonstop!
The remarkable points: 1. Metal cutlery 2. That 2-4-2 layout! Only JAL and ANA have/had a 2-4-2 layout on their 787s. Must be the widest seats in Y class! (But ANA looks to have changed them all to 3-3-3.)
Did you have any issue walking across the next person when u were sitting on window seat? For me, i have to time myself to toilet/walk-around with the random person beside to minimize any disturbance asking him/her to get out of the way when i hop off my seat. Always prefer aisle seat so i can do whatever I wanted without disturbing ppl beside me, but the seat position u had will reward you with nice view of KL town (that is if its not rainy or cloudy on that day). These crew on international flight needed to have at least two years experience on domestic line before promoted to international line. That why they were so perfect on their service.

Indeed. Sadly they are the only ones with that layout... so much better though.

2 - 4 - 2 is the best economy cabin. Nobody has to skip more than 1 passenger to access the aisle.

Thats why I love the A330/A340 cabin. But if they do the same in the 787 thats even better!
If you go to the other side of Narita, you can get cool footage when planes taking off or landing.

Of course there is always an issue when you don't sit at the isle... but it is much better to ask 1 person to stand up than two... ;)

I haven't tried ANA yet - but I was content with the service of JAL.
