I just love the variety of terrain in this video and, Also that it is just natural sounds And that the only music is the people on the sidelines cheering you on, and the local musicians and the horns and bells. I am doing my treadmill workout seated, using VR goggles, so it is really amazing to see your country come out so beautiful, and the people so supportive of the runners. Yes these are huge cowbells. In Swiss German they are called 'Trycheln'. Which means as much as ringing cowbells. This is an old custom in Switzerland. The trychle is always made of hammered sheet metal. Unlike a cast bell. This makes the sound more clanging and therefore easier to carry :-)
That's interesting to know. They certainly bring a local flavor to the event, along with the occasional other musical instruments we see at runs from the supporters. @@SwissRunningTV
