There is a channel here on youtube called Snake Discovery (they mainly talk about snakes but also about other reptiles and amphibians) that have videos on turtles and can recommend great UV lamps and other stuff. Remember that even if the UV light is still emitting light for a long time doesn't mean that it will emit UV for that same amount of time! I look forward to see updates on how he is doing in the future! It will be fun to watch him grow!
I will definitely have to check them out, I love animal related Channels! and good to know about the UV light, I think I will be moving him into a sunnier position swell
@@SebMakesStuff Snake Discovery are super wholesome and provide great information! I hope you will post updates of little Orly (or whatever you decide to name them)
These are amazing pets, we have had ours now for twelve years Tootsie is her name, she follows us around the unit when we let her out, and all she wants is to be close, she also loves kisses and while I am working she comes into the room and lifts her body and reaches with her paw to pick her up and she goes to sleep in my jumper, they are also good climers when I have my track suite on she will climb onto my knees and climb up for a kiss, when she needs to go back into the tank she walks over to it and reaches up for us to put her back in, but make sure you can hand them down to a responsible person because they can live up to a hundred years, we have my great grandaughter who loves Tootsie and she will take care of her when we are long gone.
Kowabunga Dude! Fantastic story, thanks for sharing. You may consider adding alternating signature turtles as well as your usual signature frogs in your Fantasy-Architecture.
I also own a eastern long neck turtle, they are mostly carnivorous they eat, crickets, woodies, yabbies, fish, snails and any other small crustaceans they find but they are opportunistic feeders so don’t put anything that could be unsafe for him in the tank., if you give him live fish only get livebearers like guppies or platties, goldfish can stop them from absorbing vitamin b, you can also give him earth worms every month.
All great notes. I've been feeding him a mix of turtle pellets, live feeder fish and crayfish. He seems pretty happy and is growing strong. I'll have to add in the occasional earth worm
I'll make sure to include one soon. He pops up over at tomes and tales from time to time in our above the table videos. But I'll have to update you all here. But the short of it....he's doing great and getting big!
I started with bloodworm. You can get frozen bricks from basically any petshop. Those it out in some tank water and either drop it in the tank. Or use a dropper to hold it around the the turtle in smaller chunks. I also ended up getting some frozen turtle food that seemed to have a mix of a few different things. Then eventually moved into small floating turtle foods and live feeder fish
tarantula cat does a video on rehousing her snapping turtle into a new tub if you want any ideas on keeping him ua-cam.com/video/brYjP7e8pcA/v-deo.html
The point was that those birds ain't going hungry. As for the turtle he is happy and healthy in a pond and training on different live foods so he can be a good hunter
What a neck! You seem like you really know what you're doing, that's great!
ohh yer I have looked into pet turtles in the past, so I had a decent idea of the care requirements.
"Orly" brilliant name!
Gotta pay my CR tribute
Beautiful life saved!
Poor little buddy had a rough day, glad you managed to save him.
Hes definitely seen some rough times, but He has been thriving since
I love turtles myself, having a Murry river shortneck. A thing to note is that they love to move everything around.
haha yer he loves to tear apart any kind of scare, but I get it I like to rearrange my room when im bored too

Good On ya', Seb, and right after you showed your turtle build, on your Karl makes stuff livestream. Very cool
It's like it was meant to be
Would love to see an update on this little fellow, so happy you rescued him!
Working on a new tank for him he's gotten so big! Might have to do an update with the new set up

funny you should say that, I have actually got a few tiny turtles ready to print for future builds
Very cool, would like to see an update later on to see how things are going with the little guy in the lovely new home!
I'll definitely have to keep updated coming in future videos, he's my new house mascot haha
You did amazing!!! I hope you kept him! :D
I did indeed. He is soooo much bigger now and has a much bigger home. He pops up in the background of my videos from time to time
What does he eat can I ask? 😊
I feed him a mix of turtle pelets from the pet shop and once a week he gets some feeder fish and small crayfish to give him something to hunt

What had the turtle in his mouth? I can't even look it up because I have no clue how to spell it despite listening over and over again.
Haha a kookoburru
They are a native bird in Australia
Seb Makes Stuff Live.
Does this mean turtles will replace frogs in your builds?
I've snuck a few turtles in to some of the old builds already 😏
What can I feed my baby long neck turtle ?

Why???
Why what?
You stole a native bird's meal.
They steal food from us all the time
@@SebMakesStuff I do not understand the point of this reply. What happened to the turtle? Has it been released back into the wild?

@@SebMakesStuff Well I'm glad you are planning on releasing it back into the wild. That makes the druid in my happy. Peace.
