Kind of surprised Kizer did not go to framelock on this knife, since most manufacturers seem to when go with titanium on one side and micarta on other. V- shaped lock as you describe seems to work well and they may choose to use it on more models in near future. As always, thanks for your sharing your initial impressions of this interesting knife.
I wasn't really interested in this knife until it was only 47$ bucks, for the meterials, that's a great deal even if the knife is just ok, so I took the plunge, and I am pleasantly surprised with how much I really like this knife. I have tons of knives, but I keep around 10 in a knife roll that I rotate between, and this is one of my rotating beaters. It's a really sturdy blade and feels really good, and like I said, the meterials are just great, and this finds it's way into my pocket almost as much as my other fav beater, the aluminum Vosteed Raccoon, so I def recommend this knife.
The Coniferous V is $57 at Kizer's web site right now (Apr. 2). Great deal - I picked one up and I like it a lot. Solid lockup, smooth action, high slicey flat grind, and I like the two different scale materials. The Ti adds some heft, and with the clip on the Ti side, it slides in the pocket easily and is still secure.
I’m sympathetic to the argument a liner lock can be preferred to a frame lock when the design puts the same amount of material in the lockup path. And it’s really interesting to see this sort of “reverse compression lock.” Until true compression locks make it more widely into the market (as the Axis lock went) I’m happy to see some ways to get a similar sort of lockup.
Ive been hearing mixed reviews of this knife some people hate it some people love it me personally i like it it's really interesting how it locks up thats cool i even think it looks good i don't mind the 2 different handle material anyway great video man 👍
Thank you for your assessment. I'll be interested to see how this innovative lock functions in the long run. You should do a One-Year of Use Review with @vibe808 or someone else who owns and uses it.
That's what I was trying to explain. The thing people are calling a glass breaker is actually part of the v-shaped liner lock. But it is definitely something you could use as a glass breaker as well. Thanks
I wouldn't turn it down, however there is currently a lot of superior options in this price range, just my opinion, but fidget factor is important to me, and this one seems lacking.

Kizer does it again. That lock is intriguing and looks really strong.

Yeah that's a heck of a deal and a really cool knife for sure. Glad you like it. Thanks
Thanks for sharing bud!👊🏻
Anytime. Thanks
Thanks KC. I have never had good luck with kizer. Everybody else seems to like them but I am done trying them
Interesting. I've seen a lot of really good ones from them. And a few rough ones too. Thanks
I like Kizer
For sure. Thanks

Well said. All the reasons I kind of liked it quite a bit. Very nice design for sure. Thanks
I bought it at $57 and was very impressed with it. Now, it's freaking $47 so I picked up another one just because, lol.
Very nice great looking knife!!
I can agree with that. Thanks
I’ve carried this knife since Fathers Day and can tell you It’s good for me. Smooth
Awesome. Good testing. Thanks

Yeah I can definitely appreciate him taking a risk and trying something different. This is really cool. Thanks
Kizer is a great maker. I have been pleased with their products.
Me too. Their action is great. Thanks
Ive been hearing mixed reviews of this knife some people hate it some people love it me personally i like it it's really interesting how it locks up thats cool i even think it looks good i don't mind the 2 different handle material anyway great video man 👍
Yeah I'm with you. Thank you
Cool knife, a V-lock. thanks for sharing brother 👍🏼😎🥷🏽

Nice looking knife.
I agree. Thanks

Yeah possibly. It's cool It would be interesting to see how it holds up. Thanks
I like the look overall but dont get the little glass breaker on it....lol! Thanks KC
That's what I was trying to explain. The thing people are calling a glass breaker is actually part of the v-shaped liner lock. But it is definitely something you could use as a glass breaker as well. Thanks
@KnivesFAST ah...I see! Just odd that it's poking out like that
You can easily grind it off. It doesn't affect the lock in any way
I want one!
They are nice. Thanks.
Ohh like the liner lock with ti,, frame locks are a negative for this lefty
Yeah I thought a lot of lefties would enjoy this. Thanks
I like its
Me too. Thanks.
Like the overall design but not a huge fan of the pokey think sticking out like it does. Thanks
I didn't find it an issue. It's not my favorite thing but it's not an issue in pocket or in use. Thanks
Grind it off. It doesn't affect the lock in any way
I like kizer but I don't like that it's micarta on one side and ti on the other.
Yeah I know a lot of people are like that but it doesn't really bother me. Thanks
I wouldn't turn it down, however there is currently a lot of superior options in this price range, just my opinion, but fidget factor is important to me, and this one seems lacking.
Interesting. Good to know. It's definitely a factor for me but this one really is good. Thanks
