I like fishing that place. Been chasing bass there for a few years now. This year I've been trying to catch snake heads too. I've never fished a fluke there. I do pretty well with zman diesel minows tho. Tight lines, good vid!!!
Quinn Patton Thanks for the support, Quinn! I'm glad to see that you enjoy the videos. And man...I love Z-Man products, specially their Chatterbait! If you are aiming for the Snakeheads, I would definitely recommend a Z-Man Chatter! Tight lines!
KeefsCattys Thanks, Keefs! I actually went back there today and did a little bit of Mulberry Carping. Caught a nice 7lber on a big Mulberry! Awesome fight. Clean release. Will upload the video when I can (I am behind the schedule for about 10 days or so).
Kyle Spillman -- That's a tough one. It really depends what you would be going for and what time of the year. Too many variables involved. However, I would recommend you a Live Target mouse for FDR Park.
I live in Philly and I'm trying to find New spots do you have any places that you know that have bass in them let me now asap I'm due to catch a fish!!! Thank you!!
Kyle Spillman -- I can't reply to you directly (probably because of your google+ configurations). But anyways...if you are looking for some Largemouth Bass in the Philadelphia area, then I would recommend Meadow Lake and the Manayunk Canal. Tight lines!
Extreme Philly!!!!!! I seen you in a few 1rod vids and you seem mad chill. I wanted to check here until you mentioned snake heads lol. If it looks like a snake, I ain't about that life lol. Anyway, love your content and positive vibes. Maybe I'll catch you fishing next season. Can't wait for trout to start in PA again. Anyway, great video. Take care!
Hey Leo do you plan on revisiting FDR park aka the lakes any time soon? My son and I watch your channel and my son is crazy to meet you and fish with you.
great video! was just there today (June 29th) and the lake was all scummy. There was light green growth on the surface and tons of leafy, kelpy stuff coming up from the bottom, couldn't help pulling up weeds almost every cast. What do you do when you get to a lake and it is like this? Pack up and find somewhere else or is there a way to fish those conditions? Thanks for the great video!
weqrfawe The FDR Park (a.k.a. Meadow Lake) is always like this during the Summer months. I usually fish around structure and cover, and sometimes I cast surface or sub-surface lures under the thin green stuff for Northern Snakehead and Largemouth Bass. I would also recommend fishing under the bridges, as they are usually very productive! I'm glad that you enjoyed the video. Tight lines!
Kayak Frank Thank you very much, Frank! I appreciate the support. And I just watched one of your videos -- love the Kayak action, man. I subbed back and I will be psyched to see more of your fishing adventures.
Extreme Philly Fishing Thanks Philly Fishing. I understand the dedication it takes for folks as yourself, in land based fishing. That is 'EXACTLY" how I got into this kayak fishing scene. Later man.
wow I remember when I used to fish there when I was five I caught a one and a half pound northern snake head there and a very large channel cat off the dock around three pounds and a eight inch pumpkin seed. the northern snake head was caught on a lizard style bait. but it didn't look like a northern snakehead to me maybe a bull's eye what do u think?
+Ronald Hives I'm not sure how old you are nowadays, but I can tell you that Northern Snakeheads have been introduced there since 2002 or so. Perhaps you caught a Bowfin (Amia calva)? The FDR Park (a.k.a. Meadow Lake) has changed a lot since then!
+Ronald Hives Bowfin in the FDR Park are very rare. I have only seen it twice in the past four years in Philadelphia. Both were caught while anglers were fishing for Bass and Snakeheads.
+Ronald Hives No, I did not. The photos were given to me by local anglers. I still need to catch a Bowfin to add it to my Species list! Heh. Tight lines!
I love the washer and dryers and all the trash people throw into the lakes. Don't fish there. People throw their dog crap in there, too. Their baby diapers, drug needles and garbage they don't want to pay to be hauled. Ew.
Tell you something! Instead of going through the body and limiting the action of the fluke ! Try a short shank going through just the head! That fluke will go absolutely crazy on your retrieve twitches! I have caught many 5+ pounders doing it!
Another nice video Leo. Would you recommend fdr or Heinze better for trying the snakehead? We'd be coming from Berks county. Keep up the good videos!

I know you're able to eat some of the fish but are you able to take the fish home for a meal?
Your videos are awesome! Keeps me entertained while I wait for the warmer weather to fish in Boston.
Great watch .. Really enjoyed that, especially the big Crappie.
