    12/28 -- Just before the end of 2015, I decided to do a Carp session at the Kirkwood Lake in Lindenwold, NJ. Little I knew that I would catch everything else BESIDES Common Carp! :)
    Part 2 -- Exploring and Fishing Laurel Lake -- will come out in a few days.
    Long Days and Pleasant Nights! Tight lines, UA-cam viewers!

      +elliot robinson No problem! I am always walking around with a gigantic trash bag to clean up after others. Hah. Ultimately, I hope folks learn more and more about the consequences of littering, so they litter less. :) Thanks for watching and stopping by, Elliot! Tight lines and fish on!

    The bluegill cannibal reminded me of a time I was fishing with my nephews. One of them hooked a bluegill in the eye. It's eye unfortunately popped out as a result of the hook removal. The bluegill itself escaped back into the water.They decided to see if anything would go for the eye. They then caught the same bluegill within one minute on it's own eye.

    • @extremephillyfishing
      @extremephillyfishing  8 років тому

      +Max fisher I do get excited when small fishes come up. Hah. I have mentioned this previously -- I am like a Pokemon trainer on a quest to complete my Pokedex. But even then...I may have caught plenty of Magikarps, but give me that shining one and you will see me get excited! In other words, I may have caught thousands of Bluegills...but every time I see something different, that is an extra plus for me! You never know when it comes to fishing! Tight lines and thanks for watching, Max!

    You caught more fish in that creek than I have ever from winter fishing. But then again I fish at parks wick isn't an excuse, just many other anglers and commotion.

    I have caught bluegill on cutbait when I have ran out of bait and didn't want to go home lol. They really don't care what it is as long as it fits in their mouth and tastes like meat. I think your tail-less bluegill was probably someone's bait at one time.A lot of people cut the tails off when using them for bass/catfish so they don't swim away as fast when a fish gets after them.

    I think ur the only UA-camr that says the scientific name of the fish but still cool

    • @extremephillyfishing
      @extremephillyfishing  8 років тому

      +Ricardo Perdomo Heh. Thanks! The main reason why I say the scientific names of the fishes is because the crew here can be global. In other words, I may have people from outside the USA watching my videos.
      For example...here in the USA, everyone knows the Bluegill. However, for a person in Africa, what would a Bluegill be called?! What if I caught something very similar to a Bluegill in France, but in France we call it "Crapet?" How do I find out if a Crapet is the same as Bluegill?!
      To facilitate the search, the scientific names exist! You can type in "Lepomis macrochirus" on a database and the database can show you how that fish is called in different languages (www.fishbase.org/ComNames/CommonNamesList.php?GenusName=Lepomis&SpeciesName=macrochirus&ID=3375&stockcode=3571). The scientific names are UNIVERSAL. A Crapet is a Lepomis macrochirus, just like a Bluegill is a Lepomis macrochirus, and a ブルーギル in Japan is ALSO a Lepomis macrochirus.
      You see? Heh.

    are there any places in Chester County that you know of that have good fishing in the winter months?

    • @extremephillyfishing
      @extremephillyfishing  8 років тому

      +Macchi C.205 Veltro Chester County is pretty big! Marsh Creek State Park is good for Winter fishing (ice fishing included), Valley Creek park for Trout, Pickering Creek Reservoir, the East Branch Brandywine Creek, etc. These are only a few locations where Winter fishing can be quite productive! Tight lines, Macchi.

    Just wondering, why don't you use baitcasters?

    • @extremephillyfishing
      @extremephillyfishing  8 років тому

      +Skyler Tuma Just as Chito Adams pointed out, I am a Multi-Species angler. To suit my style of fishing better -- i.e. Micro-fishing + different Species -- using baitcasters is not very good. Thus, I go with spinning gear. Tight lines, Skyler!

  • @raymondjin2000
    @raymondjin2000 8 років тому

    on your multi species rod what line test you use? is a 15 lb test fine with a 5'6 medium spinning rod?

    • @buttpoopb8185
      @buttpoopb8185 8 років тому

      15 pound is far too heavy, for multi species angling unless you are targeting bigger fish the type of stuff this guy uses is probably a light or ultra light rod and 4-8 pound line. It is a really enjoyable way to fish for many of the species we catch around southeast PA

    • @raymondjin2000
      @raymondjin2000 8 років тому

      thanks and for some how i used to catch sunnies with 15 pound line lol

      plus i know leo uses a pretty big rod and 12 pound line he says

    • @extremephillyfishing
      @extremephillyfishing  8 років тому

      +r I tend to use 8-10lbs test line on my medium light rods. On my ultralight, 4-6lbs test line. I tend to go with Fluorocarbon for my Multi-Species fishing, unless I am targeting something specific or fishing somewhere with cover and/or structure. 15lbs for a 5'6" would be a little bit heavy, in my opinion. Tight lines, r!

    That was a warmouth hybrid. 17:32

    • @extremephillyfishing
      @extremephillyfishing  8 років тому

      +Gaige Jacobs Good assumption, but the fish at 17:32 was definitely a Lepomis cyanellus X Lepomis macrochirus hybrid. The scientific proof is in the yellow coloration at the end of its soft dorsal, anal, and caudal fins. A hybrid between a Sunfish (Lepomis spp.) and a Warmouth (Lepomis gulosus) would have a red coloration on its soft dorsal fin and caudal fins, and perhaps a bit of white/yellow on its anal fin. Tight lines, Gaige!

    its a shame up here corn is illegal to use for bait. they claim it blocks the fish's intestines and can kill them....

    • @extremephillyfishing
      @extremephillyfishing  8 років тому

      +thokk10289 Yes. It does sound like a shame. I would say that in micro-species, corn can definitely bring constipation. But in bigger fishes, I have yet to see researches that show that corn actually kills them! Tight lines, thokk!
