Dude thank you for helping spread the proper info on wolf hierarchy. As a dog trainer/animal control officer, the amount of people who believe that they need to be the "alpha" is ridiculous. Literally no one believes me when I tell them that not even wolves have an "alpha" based hierarchy. I wish I could hit subscribe again lol
Another wolf myth was spread by the colossal fraud and hack, Farley Mowat. He wrote a piece of subpar fiction entitled "Never Cry Wolf", but it sold well and got turned into a movie because he claimed it was a true story. He claimed that wolves almost never kill deer, elk, or other large mammals, and instead live on large numbers of mice and other small animals. This is, of course, total bullshit.
"Not even wolves have an alpha based hierarchy" because they're all the same species and pups that refuse to listen can just get nipped or something. A pet owner biting their dog isn't going to fly.
A lot of the misinformation on Wolf pack structure has to do with their behavior in captivity. In the wild when there is a "disagreement" big enough for fighting, the younger wolf just leaves. In captivity that isn't an option. Wolves are similar enough to humans that in captivity they act more like a prison gang than a nuclear family ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

I owned a wolf-dog a few years ago and honestly, she was the kindest, most well behaved pet I’ve ever had. Very interesting breed. She was so smart and so thoughtful. She couldn’t bark, so she’d just howl if she had something to say. Very much like a Husky does. But she needed to be free, not cooped up in a tiny apartment with me.
That or you got tired of your apartment smelling like fox piss.
My cousin has a husky and they are beautiful intelligent dogs!! How lovely your wolf dog was so wonderful! I live in the city and couldn't bear to keep such an amazing animal confined. My cousin lives in the suburbs so there's lots of fields for a husky to run around in.
What happened to it? Did you release it?
She was adopted by an organization that specialized in rehoming them.

Hammerhead sharks: they swim in groups, can sense you from a mile away, have 360 vision, and are able to track down hidden targets... they have X-Ray, Aimbot, Back Camera, and Player Tracker, and they have a Mini Map cheat.
They are super friendly to people though, super unlikely to attack humans. Thank goodness because if they were aggressive we wouldn't be able to step anywhere near the ocean.
@@69_natalia_420 well, not the great hammerhead, they are more irritable than the usual hammerhead, but yes, most are friendly or passive.

2 things. First off the segment on raccoons was very nice. Thank you for giving my species some positive representation.
Second off, I've been within 15-30 feet of a black panther before. I took my dog into our backyard to let him do his nighttime ritual when he suddenly started carefully sprinting back up the hill. As soon as he got to the back porch (which is about 5 feet off the ground and where I was), he started pacing by the back door and trying to pull me inside. Being the dumb bitch I am, I didn't take the hint and instead decided to turn on my phone's flashlight and investigate. There was a full grown black panther just laying in my backyard about 15-30 feet away from me like shit was good. And when I shined the light on him, he just looked at me like "What do you want?" With that, I quickly got myself and the dog back inside.
Smart dog. And eventually, smart human. lol
My mom had a dog she would take around the tennis court to play with balls that had gotten thrown over the fence. Her dog LOVED it, playing on the trail with the free toys. One day, my mom's dog absolutely REFUSED to go to the trail. He flipped and resisted and just was not having it. My mom found out that later that day, two bikers were attacked by a cougar further down the trail. California be weird. Dogs be smart.

I found it! I paused it and stared for like five minutes. It's pretty much in line with dude's ear.
tip for those camouflage pictures: the animal (or item) is normally located along the middle, the focused area (if there is unfocused area). Go slow.... there will be a break in the background pattern. Once you start to make out the break your brain will automatically be drawn to that spot even if you keep looking. After that it is mostly about giving yourself the time to make out the animal's silhouette.

True story. I heard noises out on my back patio about 1 A.M. on a very hot Texas night last summer. When I pulled the blinds of the sliding glass doors to peak out, I saw two raccoons. They had broken into the shelving unit and dragged out a ten Lb bag of mixed bird seed with sunflower seeds. They were grabbing handfuls of the stuff and tossing it around like freaking popcorn. Partly eating and partly just throwing it. The raccoons looked like they were having the time of their lives! The patio was wrecked. I live in Texas by a lake and see lots of critters but the raccoon frat party was a first.

"...when hedgehogs try to make friends with foxes, they get eaten.
...so I don't think Sega really cares."
We rescued two wolf dog puppies (Half lab, half wolf) when we had a pure bread beagle, they were scared of her, and now I'm convinced it's because she was so old, she was 18 when she died!
They were excellent pets and loving and also extremely dangerous and NOT meant for ppl who can't devote their lives to them.
They're gone now, and had a good and happy home and lives, but had we been aware of how much effort and care it took to have them as pets, we probably would've moved to a bigger area, but in the end they had a big yard and an old beagle that taught them how to live and love gently. Do not get wolf dogs as pets. Love them from afar or a be an enclosure or propped owner.
i think its safe to say that snow leopards are doing alright, maybe we shouldnt worry abt em so much lol
Fun fact: the "nine tailed fox" is actually called a "kitsune." And it is said that it is born with one tail. And once it gets to 100 years old, they'll have 9.
No kitusne is just fox kyubi no kitsune or kyubiko is nine tailed fox
Axolotls are fascinating, but there is a species of salamander that's probably much closer to where you live that is also interesting. Tiger salamanders. Tiger salamanders (ambystoma tigrinum) are vicious monsters. They are found all over the place, and make good pets (as far as herps go) because the adults are pretty easy to care for. They have really shitty eyesight. I'm pretty sure they can only make out light/dark, and motion. The thing is, their first response to anything that moves is to eat it. I had a 5 inch long tiger salamander that would regularly try to eat my cats. It would often bite my finger when I was feeding it, then swallow it down to the second knuckle before giving up and spitting it out. Fortunately, they don't have teeth or strong jaws, so they can't hurt anything bigger then they are. That doesn't stop them from trying though. They can move at up to 10 mph, which isn't that fast compared to a lot of other animals, until you consider their size. They can also secrete a toxin from their tail that can cause skin burns, though I never experienced that. Still, that, and the fact that they are covered with salmonella, means you should wash your hands after handling them. And whatever you do, don't lick one. I shouldn't have to say it, but that's the world we live in now.
5:35 🤦🏾♂️😭😭😭😭

My man did that on PURPOSE! Putting naked animals, ending with a lil bunny, and then switching to TENSE STRING MUSIC AND THOSE FACTS 😮💨 Boy got me sweating. Sensing heart rate from a mile away: I have Inappropriate Sinus Tachycardia, which means my heart flutters at around 110-120 bpm 80% of my waking hours, and that’s not including me working out or my anxiety if it ramps up.
