As a thank you to all my subscribers and Patreons, I give you more trains and churches of #Baranovichi #Belarus as well as a sneak preview of my next trip.
We have family there. My sister and I got to meet our family for the first time in our life in 1999. We can not wait to see them one more time soon. Had a great time when we were there,my cousin Masha was able to translate for us. Got to see my grand mothers grave and stayed in her home in the village where my father was born. Again can't wait to go back!
Hi, Irish Partizan! A tip for your coming foods videos: for the sake of variety, taste/try out the Belarusian cidre (сидр) instead of vodka or beer. It was a true discovery of our past for us Belarusians, too. 🤗
Magnificent churches again. The orthodox one looks especially beautiful inside. Awesome trains too. I thought for a moment you were going to say that the one with the anti aircraft gun belonged to Trotsky. Looking forward to the next video 👍
1000 years ago, the Vikings rowed to Istanbul and back. They rowed down the Dniper, that is, south. Do you know which river or rivers they used to travel along from the Baltic Sea. The Vikings had to drag their boat across land somewhere in Poland, Belarus or Ukraine.
@@dmitryderevitsky9212 I guess they went to Orsha on the Dnieper, About 50 kms from Vitebsk. Some Swedes tried a trip like this recently and they said the Vikings used horses towing sleds carrying their goods over land. They used a 9mtr. boat, for the first part of the journey. It is hard enough carrying a 5 metre canoe 50 meters from the car to the river. Thanks for the information Dmitry.
@@scoutjohnson1803 I think, yes, Orsha is quite possible place for that. There were special routes to drag boats between rivers called "voloks" (or portages in english). For example the name of russian town Volokolamsk originates from this word. Because this routes were first of all trade routes, and many boats used them, so, I think, that places were specially equipped for such dragging. Usually cutted trees (logs) were used as rollers under the boats. Maybe, some kind of sleds as well, yes. I also suppose that vikings could even use their round shields as wheels for that - why not.
awesome video... I was in Vitebsk during winter..im surte its better in the summer💯😁👍 cant wait for another video IP. btw also more on WW2 stuff. thank you
Was curious, how would companies like the one you work for (Epam) will/may be affected by the sanctions in the future despite current sanctions not focusing on that area, it seems there's potential for that to change/increase?
Can’t go inside, alas a story all too familiar nowadays, any wonder why the Catholic Church is failing. Being able to make a visit is what tipped the balance when I became a Catholic, wouldn’t be happening today.

I've already done so. I'm not a cider drinker per say but I was very impressed with it.
Great, another video! Everything in Belarus looks so clean and well laid out. I also noticed it’s never crowded in any of your videos.

You need to google 'route from Varangians to Greeks', it gives many details.
That Dvina river (or Daugava in Latvian) which flows through Vitebsk and Polotsk - was one of (but not the only one) such rivers.
