Wow. My Great Grandfather just passed away last year, at the age of 97. To be honest everybody in the family were surprised he lived as long as he did. He was a technician from the 40s-80s, he went through the entire duration of lead being put in car fuel, he was a chainsmoker from when he was early 30s to his mid-60s, and he was an outgoing person who still cared for himself many days, living alone. He was awesome, and while its sad he's gone I can only be happy he got to have such a great life, got to pass away peacefully in his sleep, taking a nap while watching a Blue Jays game. 💙
Mine passed in January 3 days after his 96th birthday. He was possibly the hardest working guy I have ever seen. He would go out every day to split wood for his wood stove until he was 95. He also could fix anything. He had multiple vehicles that he worked on until a month before he passed. I remember he used to bend nails pack straight so that he could re use them and he would crossbreed chickens and pheasants to make phickins. He did so many unforgettable things and was loved but everybody. I am sorry for your loss. It seems like your grandfather was a wonderful man
