We demonstrate why I believe this is one of the best 50 round pistol drills. It tests your marksmanship fundamentals and your ability to be consistent.
Great drill indeed and good shooting. One thing I see you doing is something that I also had problems with. You draw the firearm out of the holster then sweep it up to your line of sight (kind of like throwing a bowling ball) - see 2.01 mark. Not that this is inherently bad however in a self defense/offense scenario, as soon as the muzzle clears the holster it should be rotated so the barrel is parallel with the ground and the muzzle is pointed at the threat/target. That way it minimizes waste movements and gives you faster shooting times. This also gives you the ability to shoot from the hip or any time as you push the firearm out to your line of sight (in case the threat decides to rush you). Something to think about. Anyway thanks for doing this video - I will have to add this to my practice sessions. :D
Sure, thanks so much for watching the video and for your kind words. This is an excellent drill that develops the fundamentals of trigger / sight management. I hope you will subscribe to the channel and check out some of our other videos. I believe you will find the content interesting. Stay safe.
I do similar drills but punish myself with push-ups or sprints etc when I miss. For me it simulates an unaccounted for round in a self defense scenario
Tried at range for first time yesterday.I had a great time at it.Just something different. All focus on sight picture and trigger control.Great drill and this guy makes it look super easy.It is not if you try to put them ALL in orange.Amazon has targets.
It is great shooting, no two ways about that but, with that gun, it's like being half way there without moving! haha I have just started using this drill to hone my skills. I use either a G19X or G17 to do so. I carry both of those guns concealed. I will move to the G48, G43 and the G26 in the future. I am shooting at 5 yards to start and with those first mentioned guns, and having only shot this drill 4 times total, I have a best score of -7. What size is your target? It looks bigger than 8 1/2" x 11". Thanks in advance!
Thanks for watching. I suggest starting at 3 yards. When you can consistently shoot 50/50 when cold move back to 5. That means shoot the drill from 3 yards every range trip for three weeks ... then if you’re getting a perfect score move back . Yes these targets are slightly larger than the 8.5x11. If you’re scoring a 43 at 5 yards that’s good shooting!
Hugh, here is a link to the drill. pistol-training.com/drills/dot-torture I had the opportunity to study with Todd and he was amazing. This site is filled with drills and information.
Yes, it’s a great training drill and works with either semi automatic pistols or double action revolvers. Thanks for watching and commenting. I hope you will subscribe to the channel.
Great video, solid form for shooting. Far be it for me to criticize anything you do...However. One tip I learned from some tactical wienie who should charge a lot of money for a fantastic training course (free government training)...When you reload, push your elbow into your ribs at the same place every time and make your arm go 30-40 degrees cross your body in front of you while tilting the gun. If you mash the mag release as you twist the gun, it also adds some force to make the mag fly out so you don't have to strip. It puts the gun right in front of you with the magwell visible. This repetitive action puts the gun at a predictable place and in the same place EVERY time - And it doesn't move with breathing, adrenaline, ect. I know your weak hand has some issues, but others should grip the mag with the finger extended up the bullet side of the mag as you should to stabilize the mag. If you watch your reloads, you have an air elbow, and you are searching for a place to put the magazine and taking up valuable time. Just a simple suggestion...Try this...It's a great tip.
I will try it at the sheriff's indoor range. The only downside is one is not allowed to work from the holster there so I would have to do the drill from the ready position.
I normally love your drill videos, but if you can please don't speed up the video during shooting. I don't mind a longer video but I want to see the shooting at actual speeds.
Guns and Gear & On Target Training, LLC Thanks. I'm new to your channel but am really liking it. Your quickly becoming one is of my favorites and I don't mind longer vids. I watch nutnfancy and his videos go on forever. Other than that keep up the great work. P.S. you still look like Walter white lol.
Sir, thanks for watching and commenting. The dart torture drill is one of my favorite. I’ve been shooting it for years and will often score a 49 out of 50 versus a 50 out of 50. Those 2 inch dots, even at 3 yards, really require a focus on proper trigger management, reset and follow through. Thanks for commenting and watching I hope you’ll subscribe to the channel.
Great video. Being an NRA instructor myself I do use a lot of your teaching methods. Thank you.
I definitely prefer the regular speed. I really enjoy this channel and bought some of these on your recommendation.

Do you have any videos on how to practice with a MultiDrill SCN (Shape, Color, Number) target?
Good video great drill I will have to practice more before I can get anything close to what your score off hand I am bad.
Awesome shooting and thank you for poating this, I will definetly try this

Thank you very much for the link, this will be a great training aid.
ok I'm not so much on the fast forward thingy, but how do you work on consistency?
Thanks for the videos.
Nice drill
Este video es muy bueno. Lo uso para entrenar con mi 38 spl y speedlouders

A ready position will work as well.

Thanks for the feedback... some other folks wanted me to speed up the shooting, but I will keep it all at the same speed in the future.

I agree ... the sped up shots suck big time. It is great to get a feel for the speed shot in the video and compare that to your own.
This might be more to you liking Dot Torture POV
