I bought a shockwave with a brace. I can’t believe full rounds kicked so hard. I was embarrassed. Three is all I could do. The opsol with shorties is amazing.

I would do a short barrel shotgun with the tax stamp if I wanted a a short version. Due the the recoil with a 12 gage, I always like a full size strock. I agree the short sells are a way to adapt!

Good review! or Purchase the "S" model......590S, then no adapter needed. However, if you already have your Mossberg, the Opsol clip is the way to go!!

I have one it works very well.
Can you do a review of the Defender Tactical device? It allows you to cycle both minis and full sized shells without removing the adapter.

That sounds really interesting. I have not heard of that particular product. I’ll have to see if we can get one and give it a try.

Here at OPSol, I took the time to test the DT. As written elsewhere, it is a mimic of the 590S. In both cases, they do not shorten the receiver into a "mini" receiver. While level firing, it works reasonably well. If you are jerking the gun when racking, as you would in a stressful situation....stuff happens. Vertical racking, ejection port down racking, and things really happen.
The 590S, which Mossberg designed after 3 years of promoting our adapter, is not as jumpy, but will have similar problems.

Thank you from OPSol for the review. For those commenting on the different options, a quick summary.
    1. Only the OPSol actually shortens the receiver into a "mini" receiver. See our animation link below.
    ua-cam.com/video/kbD6Yh0Ou58/v-deo.html
    2. 590S was developed in 2020ish by Mossberg. It does NOT shorten the receiver, it just adds a little piece of rubber at the back of the receiver. When firing in most normal positions, works okay, but when under stress, firing in odd positions, that extra "slop" in the receiver allows the minishell to bounce around.
Mossberg had been a BIG proponent of our miniclip, and when they rolled out the Shockwave in 2017, they highlighted the use of minishells and our miniclip.
We had sold about 100,000 miniclips, and Federal had decided (2019) to make minishells, before Mossberg rolled out the S.
    3. Defender Tactical....mimics the design concept of the 590S. Does NOT shorten the receiver, and minishells are way more "jumpy" then in the 590S.
Long and short, to my knowledge (not extensive), there are not any firearms designed to allow the ammunition to bounce and flip during feeding.

Sir, thank you so much for watching,. We will have a more detailed review published tomorrow or next weekend demonstrating the mini clip in action. Having fired over 100 rounds with the OpSol mini clip I can attach to its function and utility.
I would encourage you to post this video and the next one on your website as well as encourage interested parties to check out these videos and subscribe to our channel here at on target training.

I have been using this clip through the different models of the clips.
They all work and all work well!
So if you want to use the minis, you need an Opsol mine clip!!!!!

Just curious, but do you keep your shotgun cards loaded all the time. I worry about the spandex getting stretched out.

All the time. What hurts the spanded in not the expansion is expanding and contraction. Shotshell cards are cheap few extras and don't load them if you're concerned. Thanks for commenting and watching!

I've seen these before quite some time ago before Mossberg release the modified version of there gun and the word was they still jammed and had all kinds of feeding issues. I'm curious as to what results you see on the range with this.

Sir, thank you for commenting. A friend of mine has been shooting the Mossberg 590 S he’s had no problem whatsoever with the mini shells. He’s fired several hundred of them without issue.

I believe what you meant to say is 590s not 930s. With that said, I hate these stupid mini shells. They're nothing but a gimmick and range toy. They're underpowered and unreliable. I see no point in choosing a shotgun, then giving up it's greatest advantage. Which is a massive payload and devastating short range effectiveness.

First, they are not a range toy. 15 #4 buck coming at you at 1100 fps is quite lethal. The great Paul Harrel and others felt the same way as you, until they tested them. Second, it's not the "mini" that is the issue, it's the design. Here at OPSol, we have tested mini birdshot rounds that will plow through 2 3/4" pieces of real plywood at 8 yards. In fact, we have a posted youtube video about that.
The Federal slug is accurate, and in my tests, goes through 5 3/4" pieces of plywood.
Second, we developed minishells so our wives and daughters can use shotguns for home defense. A little less payload, manageable recoil, and 2 hands on the gun is a solid balance for a whole lot of people in this world.
Third, if it's a range toy, then why did Mossberg take our idea and create the S (which does NOT do what our adapter does), and Federal start making "shorty" shells? Both decided to do this after we had sold over 100k adapters and Aguila could not keep minishells in stock.
Federal even made a 6 00 buck round for awhile.
