    Linda, i learn so much from you, even your little slips make me feel better because i make so many mistakes. This chain is quite lovely and I’ll make quite a few. My grandma always used to tell me, when i wasn’t perfectly dressed, to walk fast, no one will see. Your comments today made me smile!

    Hi there! You do make THE most beautiful and unique chains. I'm going to need to purchase a drill in order to create that nifty looking wire. I was so k all last week but watching now. Thanks to you as always. ❤❤❤

    lol….you are so funny. “If they notice, they are standing too close - tell them to bugger off!” That’s perfection right there!
    Now I need to try and find an oval item that I can use. So cute. Thank you.

    • @GumnutLaneJewellery
      @GumnutLaneJewellery  4 місяці тому

      hahahaha Marjorie! I probably shoudn't have used the word "bugger" I have been told in the past that Americans look at it as an offensive word, but here in Australia it's not and we use it quite often, so it just slipped out! LOL. As far as the oval shaped mandrel goes, try putting a couple of paddle pop (popsicle) sticks together I believe that may work, my mandrel is 1cm wide x 4mm depth, hope this helps!

    • @marjoriecook7556
      @marjoriecook7556 4 місяці тому

      @@GumnutLaneJewellery I’ve used the expression often myself. Some may be offended, but I thought it humorous, and hopefully people can realize culturally-accepted differences. You aren’t American, after all.
      Thanks for the popsicle stick advice! I’ll try it!

    Nice design! Do you find that 18 gauge wire left open like that in an oval link, stays closed even after you only cut one of the sides flush? And the long links, they don't bend in the middle?

    • @GumnutLaneJewellery
      @GumnutLaneJewellery  4 місяці тому +1

      Hi Clara, I actually close all the links tightly when I go off camera, I can't see them clearly without holding them up closer to my face! I think if you check the video again you will see that I did flush cut both sides of the oval links and no the long links don't bend without a lot of force as the twisted wire link is very strong and the non-twisted wire becomes very strong once it goes through the tumbler! I hope this answers your questions sufficiently? Please don't hesitate to ask more questions if you have them, after all that's how we all learn!

    Is that about the same size as a popsicle stick Linda?

    • @GumnutLaneJewellery
      @GumnutLaneJewellery  4 місяці тому +1

      Hey Deb, I had to sit and think for a second what a "popsicle stick" was lol as we call them paddle pop sticks! It would be roughly the same width but not the same height (depth). My mandrel measures 1cm or 3/8" in width and 3mm or 1/8" in height (depth). I would put a 2 or 3 sticks together and try that! let me know if it's successful or not ok!?

    What type of tumbler would you get, that doesn't distort the shape of your links? I'd love to get one if it means I don't have to file down my ends for each end of the link? Is there size restrictions?

    • @GumnutLaneJewellery
      @GumnutLaneJewellery  4 дні тому

      Hi Heather, my tumbler is a Vevor KD-6808 mini tumbler, it's the only one I can speak for as I haven't tried any others! I purchased it on Ebay about 2 years ago for around $50 brand new! I have never had links get distorted in my tumbler! I hope this helps!? Have a happy NY!

      Hi there, I'm sorry but I don't know your name? Thank you sooo very much for your concern about me, I probably shouldn't have mentioned my tragedy in my tutorial, but at the time (and now) it's pretty much all I can think about and I think people can tell that something is not quite right with someone by their voice or the way they present a video (as you mentioned you could hear it in my voice). I'm not ready to talk about what happened just yet, I am still trying to come to terms with it and get it all sorted in my head and make a plan for moving forward! I would love to keep in touch with such a warm and kind hearted person such as yourself, so if you would like to email me here is my email address : gumnutlanehmj@gmail.com
