      If anyone has this isse, I ended up opening the laptop and noticed that the speaker and the L shaped base that it's attached to (google lenovo thinkbook 15 g2 itl teardown images) is a little bit wobbly, so I added a thicker square piece of tape (that i folded a few times to make it thicker) on top of the speakers base thing so when I close the laptop's case it pushes it down and doesn't allow it to move. It makes a difference, it sounds better, not great but better.

    why didn't you remove the battery wire first before installing the ram and the ssd?

      Yes, you're right, but you only have 5V on the SATA cable, and only when the laptop is on. On the RAM slot you have about 1V.
      But you're right and I strongly recommend removing the battery especially when you mess around with the screen connector. There you have 19V present even if the laptop is off.

    I see NVMe slot is actually 2280 with adapter. If it's a brand new, use recovery drive creation to dub recovery partition to 32GB USB finger and switch to 2280 SSD for more storage (keep in mind larger capacity SSD has longer life due to less time same block written again and there's a limit of same block written. Check TDW total data written)
    You can potentially make up to 2+4GB

      Any repair manual, be it for cars or computers, always states to remove the battery cable prior to disassembly (in this case, after the rear panel was removed). There's a reason for that.
      Still, I dropped a screw on a laptop MB with only the MB (watch type) battery on it and it landed in just the wrong spot... toasted the board (only a resistor popped off, I never did bother fixing it though).

    • @mihailelea
      @mihailelea  6 місяців тому +1

      Yes, it's a good practice to disconnect the battery, but for RAM and SSD I never do that. There are low voltages there (1.2V and 5V) and you can't really burn anything unless you touch something else on the main power rail with a metal tool.
      But yes, it's a good practice to disconnect the battery.
